went to Hudsons on the Bend for my husbands birthday. I called three times to say it was a special occasion and asked for a nice table. Dinner was very good but no birthday candle or birthday dessert or even a birthday wish or greeting. This was dissapointing. The evening ended up feeling like an expensive dinner out. it was... more

I have always enjoyed my dining experiences at Hudson's on the Bend. The homey atmosphere is charming and warm. And, while the restaurant can be a tad loud when it is churning on all cylinders, it still provides a special atmosphere. The food is just inventive enough and the menu is always interesting. The game is solid; I've enjoyed my... more

Excellent! I loved this place. I loved the food, the service and the ambiance. I had the rattlesnake cakes, which were good, but I think they should be b a bit chunkier. I would have loved to be able to discern the flavor of the meat from the other ingredients. My meal was simply amazing. I had the lamb encrusted... more

If you're not at least mildly adventurous, don't go, because all the game choices on the menu won't do it for you. It's expensive for Austin, but it's very interesting, very good, and intimate without being stuffy. more

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary. I knew it was going to be pricey, but the menu looked wonderful. However, what was actually put on our table was not quite as wonderful. We had the rattlesnake cakes and escargot appetizers. We couldn't detect anything except for breading in the rattlesnake cakes. No meat whatsoever! The escargot was... more

We had a delightful dinner, but it missed on a few points that kept this meal from being of Excellent quality. Our appetizers were the Pan Seared Fois Gras on Pumpkin Bread and the efficiently named "Duck, Duck, Goose". I can't say how excited I was (I'll donate to the ASPCA today) to have my third opportunity to eat fois... more

If you’re an Austin guest, or a new resident, you may consider touring the town’s special places. My in-town special is the Shady Grove’s Hippie Sandwich, followed by a nice night out, closing out the Continental Club on Congress. Keeping the conversation light on the Longhorns with a few Shiners. But, for any special occasion that you deemed, it must... more

We went to Hudson on thanksgiving 2006. My appetizer was smoked duck breast bacon roll with chilly sauce. The bacon overpowered everything and it tasted like mere bacon. The entree, bison stuffed with wild turkey, was served super fast which led me to think part of it was already made. It came cold! The sides dishes were okay, nothing more.... more
