Try their rattlesnake cake, or wild boar quesadilla, or rabbit tenders! quantity is modest for the prices they command, but for the gourmand, its probably worth it! the views are nice, although you cannot see the rive/lake from this side of 620.

In two weeks of travel around Texas, dinner at Hudson's on the Bend was easily the best meal. The location is quite a distance from the city center, but is definitely worth the effort. The venison was perfectly cooked and ultra tender. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is that of a converted home with several small rooms.... More

Our server not only knew the menu in detail, he described how some of the entrees are prepared. It was impossible to drain our glasses as the server's assistant insured they were filled. I had the trout and it was exquisite. My wife had the rosemary beef which was astoundingly flavorful and tender. The food and the service were perfectly... More

This is the second time we have been to Hudson's and they do not disappoint. We have been able to try several appetizers and entrees and have loved all of them. The atmosphere is very homey but nicely decorated. It is definitely worth the drive.

We were in the Austin area celebrating my husband's birthday on March 7th. I decided to surprise him by taking him to Hudson's for his birthday dinner. We enjoyed the warm atmosphere and delicious food. I had the elk and it was divine. My husband had the pork chop and he said it was spectacular. It is definitely pricey but... More

This Restaurant was absolutely Incredible, being an out of towner i was blown away. My Partner is Austin Born and Bred, he booked this for our first date in his home city. We got there early for the happy hour - half prize off appraisers so we could try out a few. The food was exquisite and the cocktails where... More

We went early for happy hour because they had music in the little bar. The musician should keep his day job but the Sazerac was excellent. Appetizers are 1/2 price during happy hour. We shared two crispy frog legs, and a small crawfish, goat cheese quesadilla. Both very good. The frog legs especially. Portions so tiny you would be crazy... More

Jeff Blank's masterpiece continues to excel is all phases of the culinary arts and restaurant enterprise. Our visit tonight was to celebrate our anniversary, and the couple sitting near us was there for the same reason. The couple next to us was celebrating the husband's birthday. They, like us, have been the Hudson's many times over the years. The food... More

We booked this restaurant for my husband's birthday after reading all of the stellar reviews. the atmosphere is very nice and the waitstaff was very pleasant. The food was good but nothing so special that we'd run back. My salad could have used an entirely different cheese. It was the heirloom tomato salad with halloumi cheese and bibb lettuce. The... Enjoyed the crab cakes and Tito's martinis. The mixed grill was interesting, though some of the meats were a but chewy. Prices were a little north of what an upscale casual restaurant should be -- coming from Dallas, it seemed that pricing was a bit above market.
