Sunday Brunch is the time to go

My friend recommended the Sunday Brunch here so that's when we went. Freda's has the best Alaskan snow crab legs in town!!! Crab legs were perfectly steamed with a slight sweetness to them. Prime rib was also tasty but they ran out and brought out rib eye instead so that's what we tried. Their... read more

We arrived about 30 mins before the advertised end of the Sunday brunch and the host refused to seat us for brunch. She told us the area was closed and we'd have to sit in the dining room and order off the dinner menu. At 1:30 pm? Really? We weren't even offered the lunch specials. Frustratingly the whole time we... More

Went to Freda's for the first time. Calamari were average to good. The ai and green sauce were both very good. Salads were big but the lettuce was a limp. The dressings were good to very good. The Bourbon Street pasta was very good in all respects though the use of salmon as fish adds an odd quality not consistent... More

Affordable lunch, and the food was expertly prepared. I had the Paella and it had such amazing flavors and the type of freshness that you expect at a top notch seafood restaurant!

Need larger outdoor patio. We wanted to enjoy the music but there was limited seating. Seafood salad was excellent but the stuffed mushrooms fell short. They were deep dried and greasy.

Great seafood restaurant. Waiter Carlos was awesome. Privately owned and tastefully decorated and good food for the price.

The weather in Austin has been very inclement lately however today was a great day to sit outdoors on Freda's cozy outdoors deck and have a nice lunch. A fellow foodie has been singing nothing but songs of praises for Freda's so indeed I had to see what all the Glory was. I as in the mood for a Bloody... More

We ate here one evening during our Austin visit. We both had the shrimp & crawfish etouffee. It was excellent - a very well seasoned sauce, and the shrimp were huge. The portion was large, as was the Caesar salad that I had. We had drinks, and one dessert. It's a bit pricey, but it's more along the lines of... More

We were looking for good seafood something above Red Lobster and somewhat below Eddie V's in Northwest Austin. Freda's, across from Lakeline Mall, has been serving quality seafood and Cajun cuisine for a decade. Why we didn't know about Freda's is beyond us because our food and the service were both terrific. Our crab cake appetizer rocked. So did the... More

I liked it enough to eat there twice, but I got the squirts after I ate there the 2nd time. I was looking for some local catfish but all they had was frozen. I went through the menu and most of the fish was frozen. The waiter didn't know what was frozen and what wasn't or how different dishes were... More
