Took my son and his gf there for the first time, and all I can say is...I WANT MORE! By far the best brisket I've ever had. Loved the fact they have varying degrees of "juiciness". They also give you samples if you'd like. So tender, the slight smokiness, and dripping with juicy goodness! The sides are great too, not... More

A friend took me to Rudy's in Austin when I was visiting. It was spur of the moment, and my friend recommended the "moist" brisket. I have always thought BBQ was about ribs, but I have heard how good the brisket is in Texas. Rudy's was outstanding. The brisket was moist and falling apart, with a slight smoky flavor. It... More

Stopped here because of all the local recommenations while here for the weekend. Was surprised to see it was a gas station/store. Inside the line was long and the place was jammed. The wait was super quick and the service was not only fast but outstanding. Not just friendly, but outstanding. We were given samples to try and not at... More

Don't let the gas station fool you, this is a fantastic place to get incredible Bar-B-Q in Austin/Round Rock. If you are new to the place, the staff does a great job explaining your options and will even provide you small samples of the brisket and other meats so you can taste the different options. It's no-frills, but that is... More

This was my first trip to Rudy's, as I was in from NY for work. I stopped in with relatively low expectations (it's in a gas station), but the overall experience was out of this world. Part of their schtick is to ask if you've been there before. I hadn't, so I answered as such. This sparked a vocal reaction... More

What Rudy's lacks in food inventiveness, it makes up for with consistency and good old Southern hospitality. The brisket is good, the fatter the better, turkey is fine, and sausages are solid. The "butter" on the new potatoes is a bit suspect but the beans are better than what you'd get in a can and a rash of salt and... More

You can get Brisket which is best moist (much better than the "lean"), pulled pork, ribs, smoked turkey and sausages. The jalapeño links are the bomb!! I try to go here every chance I get.

Rudy's is an Austin tradition, and a go-to place for visitors who want Texas BBQ. Is there better BBQ to be found around town? Sure, but Rudy's is (almost) always consistently good, and it's a fun experience for visiting Yankees.

From the moment you walk in this place you can tell it's different. I enjoyed the experience. It's very simple, good BBQ food and bread. The meats were delicious. Highly recommend.

Great bbq, great service. Probably had the friendliest Rudy's experience this time, though staff is always quite pleasant. Options are good, and everything is a winner. Parking is tight, but at a good bbq place, always is. A must stop Austin restaurant.
