The girls had to have breakfast here. They used to live down the street.

I was along for the ride. My daughter raved about the gingerbread pancakes. I had a veggie omelettte, fries, dry wheat toast and salsa. The food was good, the coffee was better and our waitress was fabulous. My kid paid the bill. She was perplexed why I threw another 5 down for a tip. I really... read more

Ate at Kerby Lane today as part of the 'UT experience' provided by my UT grad niece for my soon-to-be college bound 16 year old son. I had the breakfast special with scrambled eggs, special sausage and the beignet pancakes. The taste of the beignet pancakes was the best ever for me! Son had the Boss burger and could not... More

Great Saturday morning breakfast on recent trip to Austin. My husband was insistent on wanting pancakes...where else would one go in Austin, but to Kerbey Lane?? He claimed they were best ever. He would have eaten there every morning if he could have....we went on to try out other places, but this would be a definite repeat on any future... More

Staff is a bit quirky, but then this is Austin. No complaints. Open 24/7. Tiny but rare on-site parking Austin that is adequate during non-peak times. I like their breakfast but went this time with Chicken Fried Steak Medallions with Bacon Pepper Gravy, Collard Greens, Cheddar Bacon Mashed Potatoes, and fresh scratch-made biscuit. Very pleasant and attentive server. Only odd... More

The Kerbey Lane Cafe on Guadalupe Street is right nearby the University of Texas campus so it receives a lot of foot traffic regardless of the time of day. That said, the floors were absolutely filthy and most of the tables had crumbs on them, including the table at which I was seated. You'd think they would at least try... More

Another disappointing, and last, visit to Kerbey Lane. Ordered biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs over easy, and home fries. Cold, dry biscuits topped with cold gravy, eggs were brown from cooking on too hot grill, home fries were most unimaginative home fries ever(cubes of potato deep fried...no seasoning). Sausage and coffee were good, service was ok. Kerbey Lane is a very... More

I was invited to this place for breakfast on a Saturday morning by the family. Upon arriving at the door, the host says he has to go do something (maybe clean a table) and disappears into the back. 2 other waiters tried to seat us, and we declined thinking this person is working on a table for us. FINALLY he... More

After our first night at SXSW we were dehydrated and extremely hungry. My friends from Austin suggested this place. The parking lot is tiny, what's new. There was a slight wait for a table in the morning, but it wasn't anything unbearable. The food was okay, I wouldn't go back really. For the same price or maybe even cheaper I... More

Good service and very good food. The Kersey queso is recommended. Breakfast served all day. In addition to the queso, had a salad and omelet. Will be back.

Kerbey Lane Cafe is a favorite spot for breakfast. They have enlarged their table space due to ever increasing demand. For picky eaters who like cage free eggs and locally grown produce, this is your place. There are signs about the food providers at the entrance. I like that I can trust the fact that they do not compromise in... More
