good food

good food at reasonable prices the best thing they have are there pancakes and there fruit bowl. Was it the best breakfast I ever had? no but saying that it was good food and I would go back. The only thing negative I have to say is they could work on there friendliness.

We had a delicious Sunday evening meal here. We were warmly welcomed by the gentlemen at the door and that set the tone for a delightful outing. The queso was excellent and my meatloaf entree was a comfortable reminder of childhood comfort food. I had fried okra as my side and it was flavorful with a good crust and not... More

The special of the day Chicken and Dumplings was thick and yummy. We were given a large portion. There was a large variety of sides to choose from. The macaroni and cheese was good different than your average mac and cheese. It had a mixture of cheese flavors, and was not creamy as expected. Breakfast is served all day long.... More

This diner serves good food by a friendly wait staff. This is an Austin establishment, and one can see a cross section of society in this restaurant. The hamburgers and the plate specials are good, and the pies are delicious. There is nothing fancy about the Frisco, but one can feel at home in this cafe.

If you miss the old days of diners with a counter and endless coffee this is the place. While waiting for a car inspection, I came over for an early morning breakfast and enjoyed the fluffy scrambled eggs [not overcooked], crisp-but-not-burnt home fries, coffee, and service. The wait staff is friendly, accommodating, and nice without being intrusive. You can stay... More

We were in town for SXSW. We decided to try this place. We went in and ordered some coffee. Tasted just awful! Menu was terrible. Service was terrible. Atmosphere was terrible. This place really just needs to hang this up. Game over.

For many years, the Night Hawk was an Austin landmark - the Frisco was part of that institution. I should have had a clue when we walked in and my feet stuck to the floor - and an overwhelming greasy, burned smell in the air. I started thinking "this is a bad idea", but we waited for our table. Once... More

Been coming to Austin for 20 years and always like to try a non chain restaurant in this trendy yet quaint town. Tried the Frisco for the second time and was not disappointed. The atmosphere takes you back in time, bringing forth Texas images and an old Southern feel. Burgers and sweet potato fries, fried ocre... all were very good.... More

I've been in Austin,TX for a while now, but though I've heard of Frisco, I haven't had occasion to eat there until last week . . . prompted by a coupon in the local mailer. The outside of the building looked unassuming, but inside it had a warm ambience - a large "lunch counter" type bar along one side, with... More

Hearty breakfasts and the chopped steaks at other times are still a classic. This is where long time Austin residents eat and it is easy to see why. Very friendly service and high quality food.
