Great Guac

This tequila bar was great. The tablesife Guac was absolutely amazing! The waiters friendly, the tequila top notch. My husband had the stuffed burger and I had the chicken enchiladas. Both were wonderful. The only miss was the Mexican rice. It had absolutely no taste whatsoever. I had to mix in the... read more

We've eaten here several times. The wait it usually long but you can enjoy a drink at one of their two bars. The food is decent and people watching is great. We usually get fajitas to split because the portions are large!

Austin has a lot of great Mexican restaurants but the Iron Cactus was exceptional. Everyone raved about the wonderful, table side prepared Guacamole. The chips kept coming and every tequila drink was on special during the happy hour when we were there. The brisket enchilada was outstanding with tender, perfectly cooked meat enhanced with chocolate Chipotle sauce.

After a long day of walking and taking in the sites during Memorial Day weekend, stumbled upon this place on 6th St. Although I thought the food was excellent, the drinks were not that big and littel pricey.

Food was excellent.... drinks were kind of small. We sat upstairs on the patio. Its great up there, overlooking 6th street and Trinity. A little noisy with the 6th street crowd. This was our second visit and we would return again.

A group of coworkers and I chose the Iron Cactus for drinks and dinner. What a good choice! The food was fresh and tasty, especially the made-to-order guacamole made table side. You can't go wrong with this choice in Mexican dining.

Had fajitas and white wine. Nothing significant. Weight staff was a little clumsy, broke 2 glasses with drinks while we were there. Pretty crowded, so there could be a long wait. Fun to walk around outside after.

After walking quite a bit in Austin, we were looking for a light meal on 6th St. We ordered the Cabo Chicken Sandwich with fries and the sandwich was excellent! Crispy grilled chicken, lots of avocado and cheese on ciabatta bread-YUM! Unfortunately, the fries were dry and seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long... More

Went here as a start for a bachelorette party, there were only 5 of us. Our waiter starting out was ok..then it went downhill. He was very short and snippy and as the night went on and he got busier, he became a total jerk. We waited probably about 20 minutes at one point for him to come back and... More
