Good service, good food!

Went on a Thursday night with a fellow employee and a client. We were seated very quickly, and given our menus, but not rushed in any way. The menu had a good selection of dishes that offered something for each of us and we enjoyed our food. One person had fajitas, one the Mexican Paella, and one... read more

We went here before a night out on 6th street. The food was really good and not to expensive for the look of the restaurant. The staff here were great, really helpful and polite.

We went downtown Monday after super bowl. Was pretty quiet at most places, almost a ghost town. Iron cactus was busy so we decided to give it a shot. It was good. We all had different menu items and our entire group of 4 was happy with food. Chips and fire roasted warm salsa were really good. My entree (southwest... More

We had eaten at the San Antonio Riverwalk location and remembered having good table side guac. Both the salsa and guacamole at the Austin location did not disappoint. However, the shrimp tacos we split as an entree were mediocre at best. The service was good and the atmosphere on the outside patio upstairs was ok. If we stop again on... More

The check in easy and the staff very nice. The wait to sit on the patio well worth the wait. The Waiter was excellent. The Location was great. Lots to do in the area. We had a bunch of appetizers. They were all good. The Margarita's rocked.

We hosted our wedding reception at the Iron Cactus in downtown Austin. We didn't want a traditional wedding reception, and wanted to serve excellent guacamole and margaritas to our guests--this was the perfect spot. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at the Iron Cactus--their director of events worked with us to ensure that the space was set up... More

We had a wonderful lunch here. The meal started with chips and salsa, and the waitress was careful to explain the two salsas that were included. They were not things that I would have ordered, and I have since adjusted my thinking because they were both delicious. When in Rome, do as the Romans, and when in Austin, try new... More

Looking for a good lunch spot on 6th, the patio at Iron Cactus was highly recommended on TripAdvisor - After our lunch, I can see why. We enjoyed the chips and salsa, salad, quesadilla and flatbreads...choices of meals and tapas. On a nice-weather day, the patio is beautiful and relaxing - We were there on a sunny 50+ degree day... Just ate here with a small family group. We were quickly seated and our server was very attentive to our needs. The table side guacamole and chips were excellent as we're the entrees. The margaritas were also great. Would eat there again!

Loud and obnoxious place perfectly situated in the lower rung of Austin nightlife. When the upstairs is open its a nice place to gang out and relax with some Java juice. The downstairs is loud and often crowded. The kitchen tries to be original and if you hit it at the right time the food can be decent - especially... More
