Curious burger

An otherwise stalwart establishment, I can't understand why the burger isn't better. I keep hoping I'm just getting a subpar batch of cows or something, but the last time I got the burger it seemed fried--which isn't the worst thing in the world, but seems odd for a grill. The fries make everything... read more

Great weekend food and $3 Bloody Marys, Mimosas, etc. made it even more special and memorable. The eggs benedict were excellent in every aspect, and the omelets were nicely prepared. Try the mushroom and cheese omelet and have them add diced canadian bacon. Fantastic! Oh, the service? Exemplary!

Whenever I'm in Austin, whether for business or pleasure, I make a point to come here. Today I tried their veggie burger, and it was awesome. The service is always great as well. Great variety of menu items for all palettes!

Hi, Tyler S, Thanks for coming in and posting a review. We're glad to have you as a customer. We're perplexed by your burger experiences with us. Our burgers are grilled, not fried, and made from top quality, hormone-free beef. If you'll email us at hydeparkbarandgrill at gmail dot com, we'll like to see what we can do to make... More

First off, get the fries, whether as a group appetizer or as a side dish, you'll be glad you did. Ok, now for the rest of the review. If you're in the neighborhood, simply look for the iconic fork statue. Inside there's plenty of nice artwork to see and good music to listen to. Seating is quite comfortable. Service is... More

Hi, gottamove2015, Thanks for taking time to post a review. We should note that our Central location at 4206 Duval has a giant fork outside. Our south location, at 4521 WestGate, doesn't. But both locations have our famous fries, along with our menu of Hyde Park classics. The chef at each location creates different off-menu specials and menu variations. Come... More

I had a hankering for Hyde Park's french fries....so we went for dinner here that night. I got the special, fried chicken, with garlic mashed potatoes, fries, buttermilk biscuit with honey butter. The fries were not as good as I remembered, but the chicken is now my fav. Yum. Crunchy skin, moist chicken. I'd have it again in a heartbeat.

Hi, there, Desiree b -- Thanks for coming in and taking time to write a review. Tony's Southern Fried Chicken is served Monday and Tuesday nights after 5pm. It's favorite of both Texas Monthly and many food writers, including Rob Balon. We'll put Tony's chicken up against anybody's chicken! We have just those two nights early in the week so... More

We are fairly regular customers of this restaurant, since it's really close to home and always has good food. We visited yesterday evening; it was the first time we'd been there during their happy hour...which runs from 3-6 pm. During happy hour, draft beer (there are 3 varieties) is a few dollars off and there are other drink specials. There... More

Hi, SusanAndJim -- So glad you noticed the new Happy Hour options -- the $5 small plates and prices on cocktails & beer! Also pleased you like our specials. Chef Julio-Cesar Flores Zaplana comes up with some fantastic off-menu specials on a regular basis, just to keep things interesting. We appreciate your business, and the time you took to post... Converted house on Duval that is now a cozy, intimate restaurant. White linen, black garbed waitstaff, award winning Fries, and some interesting menu items. Kind of a blend of the best of upscale dining and cafe food

A nice middle of the road restaurant with consistent quality and service. A large and interesting menu offers almost anyone something for lunch or dinner that will be enjoyed and will not break the individual's diet.
