Always Good!

Many visits - many entrees! Always so good. Blue point oysters and gumbo - enough said. My favorite side is the onion rings! Guess that's just in my blood.

I have been eating in the Pappas restaurants for many years, mostly in Houston. They have always been known for large servings of high quality food. Austin's Pappadeaux is no exception, but on my recent visit, they were just a little off their usual high standard. The gumbo was just a little less authentic with a roux that was just... More

Don't leave Austin without stopping by Pappadeaux if you can. Great bar, fantastic seafood selection, but the real draw is the authentic Southern dishes: fried gator, and the best crawdads anywhere. Get the two-pound order if you can handle it, the spices are just right. Also a great place to find local Texas oysters prepared a number of ways, and... More

We went here for a team dinner after work. On the positive side, the happy hour wines were inexpensive and decent. They also were able to accommodate everyone getting their own check, not all places do that. That's where the positives stop. Most of the menu is fried food, which isn't my thing. I ordered a side salad (which was... More

I have always wanted to try alligator and they served it up wonderfully. We we think with a group and didn't want to wait for a table. One of us ran over from the Doubletree to check. A couple of minutes later he returned saying they would text when the table was ready. We waited about 20 minutes and we're... More

This crazy busy restaurant (try early in the week to avoid 1 hour waits) has some of the best seafood combinations I've seen in a long time and probably the best in Austin. Try the Andouille sausage appetizer then go for their Mardi Gras signature dish. Even with a large bar the waiting line sometimes goes out onto their outdoor... More

By choosing Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for a special occasion we are assured that the meal will be great and nothing will be overlooked that spoil the joyous mood of the occasion. Since this was an anniversary celebration we started by sharing - a bowl of Andouille Sausage & Seafood gumbo followed by Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes Served over crawfish. The... More

Even tho we made a reservation and some of the party was there on time they were told they couldn't be seated until all 20 guests arrived ! Parking is insane so why make us all wait? Was there for my son's birthday ended up ordering over $400 in food and drinks . The food wasn't as good as it... More

One of our local favorites and we always leave with a smile on our face! Daniel E was a fabulous waiter and tended to our every need and wish. We normally order our dessert to go and in our "happy stupor" after a great meal, we left our leftovers and the desserts there. They put it aside in the fridge.... More
