Rich cooking sometimes overwhelms the fish and like most chain restaurants cheese overload can ruin your dish. There are some nice dishes on there and service is pretty good. Has room for large groups.

Enjoyed a great meal at Pappadeaux with TXDAR friends after fall forum. Get the Tilapia! They both did and I was envious. Bonus: Texas Longhorns playing on giant TV screen but they were losing so badly to BYU we gave up early.

I took the family for an end of summer treat. We shared the cold water oysters and they tasted great. Followed that up with the Alaskan King crab and had to order two servings. We had the papalicious I think they call it and it was tasty. Frozen hurricane with an extra shot of rum on top. Finished it up... More

Service was great, very clean and great atmosphere and the food was absolutely amazing. We did not order appetizers but just main entree and dessert. Everything was perfect.

For a franchise this place is really good. I had the opportunity to try this establishment on a recent business trip to Austin. I did not experience a wait on either days that I chose the eat here. The Caribbean Lobster tail was very good and coupled with a Cherry "Limeade" it was just delicious. I would eat here again.

While traveling in Austin for business, two of us decided to walk from the DoubleTree to Pappadeaux for dinner around nine o'clock and major crowd still with a 30-40 minute wait. Finally we got a table in the open seating bar area. Good service with Randy and meal arrival was about ten minutes after ordering. If you are hurry keep... More

Went here on a break from a conference because it was right next door. Good atmosphere, a bit on the overt side in some cases, but still lots to see. And apparently a pretty bustling place. There must have been a dozen waiters or more zipping around. which is good, because attention wasn't lagging. Now as far as the food.... More

While the feel of the restaurant is authentic and the servers are nice, you are really there for the seafood. And it is pricey. Even the lunch specials are expensive, adding a "side" salad is almost $5, a coffee cup size soup is $8. Everything came out cooked well, tasted great, nice and hot but my almost $20 plate could...
