Seven guys went to dinner for my bachelor party. Buddy next to me got the 8 ounce filet. Typically I am used to filet with zero fat and no stringy parts. His had both. I decided to try something new and get the swordfish steak. It came out cooked like I order tuna steak. Barely seared. They took it back... More

My wife and I were visiting Austin and looking for a restaurant near our hotel and one that served both Seafood and Steaks. Eddie V's was 2 blocks from hotel. Made the reservation via the web, arrived a few minutes early and were immediately seated. We were impressed. Coming from Boston we have many great restaurants. Eddie V's met all... More

Eddie V's in Austin is one of my favorite seafood-steak restaurants. Both are done well with quality ingredients and and well prepared. The staff is good, if not enthusiastic. I am never disappointed with the seafood selection. Probably one of the best in Austin! The bar is always happening and a fun place to eat if alone.

We choose this place from a list of the best seafood restaurants in Austin. As soon as we drove up, I regretted our choice. Parking was by valet which was convenient but very expensive. The décor of the place was old fashioned and overly formal. We had a waiter that was also formal but surprisingly inattentive given all the bluster.... More

We dined here on Friday 11/21 and the only time slot they really had was 8:45 which we took, but showed up very early and tried to sit at the bar because we were hungry. The bar was packed and no chance for a table or bar seating there. I told the hostess as we arrived that we decided to... More

Loved every course, especially the king pow calamari appetizer. It was not traditional but had shredded carrots scallions and peanuts. Delish! I'm not easy to impress whine it comes to calamari but this was a wonderful twist on a favorite classic. Yum!

We found Eddie V's a little pretentious. Gracious staff, yes, and nice atmosphere. Food was very expensive, though, everything is a la carte, and the courses were a little "overproduced" by chefs with a heavy hand. Salads and appetizers were overdressed and oversauced. Entrees were generously buttered. We prefer places a little less ritzy, but with food that is healthier... More

Superb in every facet. Arrived early and met a very friendly bartender who served us at happy hour prices. We started dinner by sharing a lobster bisque, which was incredible. My wife ordered the night's special - Cajun shrimp & filet mignon. Steak prepared perfectly. Yumm. Both of our sides were great, too - snap peas with Porto Bella mushrooms... More

Eddie V's. A fantastic place for dinner and drinks. Great bar, atmosphere and staff. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The Lobster Bisque is to die for as are the crab cakes. I do not think there is a bad selection on the entire menu. The best part...they actually serve Boodles Gin! Go... More
