Best seafood meal in Austin

The food, service, drinks, ambiance have all been dramatically improved here. It has been two years since I have dined at Eddie V's, due to a bad experience. I went back on Father's Day with my daughter's family. Everything was great, the hostess, the waiter, the wine, bread,(Flown in from LA), the... read more

Dinner was disappointing tonight. We started by ordering the lobster bisque. At first the soup seemed to be good but after a few bites it became really salty and unpalatable. We had 3 different entrees at our table. Tuna, swordfish and redfish. The tuna and swordfish was good, not excellent, but the redfish was drowned in brown butter. Literally a... More

Eddie V's has two locations in Austin - one downtown and one in the Arboretum area. I have dined at both locations. Both of them are nice and provide a very good food selection and enjoyable service This particular summary is about their downtown restaurant. It serves excellent seafood and of course what many of my friends and colleagues remember... More

Our party of 9 went for dinner...4 adults and 5 children ages 6-15. We had salads, sides and entrees and everything was of excellent quality. All the adults had a version of halibut as an entree...one of them was a special lightly sautéed in butter with Parmesan cheese and encrusted...and topped with fresh lump crab...it was excellent, flakey and memorable.... The food, drinks and service made for an amazing culinary experience. The ambience was soothing. Even though it was filled to capacity, not one aspect suffered.

So the wife and I decided to make the dash down to Austin for the weekend. My first order of business was an 8pm reservation at Eddie V's. I recommend 8pm on weekends as that's about when the live music starts. Get a booth in the bar area and enjoy great music while dining on a fantastic meal. We started... More

Followed the reviews to Eddie V's and was not disappointed. Food is speedy but very good. Ordered the crab cake app and it was "ok" but the steak made up for it. Filet was tender and great flavor. Love jazz in the lounge was great.

My wife had Florida Grouper which was great, while I had very good red fish. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Very pleasant décor and noise level. Would recommend this restaurant highly for a romantic, business, or special occasion, as it is pricy.

There are many funky and casual restaurants in Austin....,this is NOT one of them! We love Eddie V's for the food and atmosphere; it reminds me of a classic yet up-to-date version of the upscale seafood restaurants I grew up with in Houston years ago. The food and service are outstanding! Eddie V's is in the heart of it all.... More
