With all of the new and more eclectic restaurants that have opened in Austin over the last few years, Eddie V's is still one of the best. A traditional menu of steak and seafood; staples in the Austin market. My filet mignon was top notch, as were my wife's shrimps stuffed with crab. There are quite a few very good... More

Excellent location on 5th street, good menu, excellent food, attentive service and presentation. Tempura shrimp was delicious, fillet Mignon excellent and the sides were massive. Conveniently booked through Opentable. Will definitely return

I have eaten at the Eddie V location in the Arboretum. Ordered fish dinner and it was the best I have ever had. Very fresh and simply prepared with a bit of lemon and herbs. Still thinking about it!

Visited with a friend who was hungry for steak. My friend loved her meal. I was less impressed. First let me say that the service here is the absolute best! I have never had better service, so hats off to the management for the training of their staff. Anyone who wants impeccable service will be happy here. Also, I our... More

Don't be afraid to ask for your favorite item to be cooked differently than the menu shows. I had the Swordfish, but blackened and it was exceptional. Of course the ambience was great, menu selection was broad, and the side items were very good. Who could forget dessert? Not me, that's for sure. I strongly recommend a stop at Eddie... More

Pros. The menu was extensive. EVs seems to specialize in surf and turf. We had an off menu steak tartar to start. Wow. For the main, I chose the filet, which was excellent, and also sampled some of their seafood. All were fresh quality ingredients, with the extra flair of a great chef. The live music was a perfect compliment... More

I was alone, so sampling was limited. I had scallops... boring! How can you serve scallops simply pouring hot brown butter on them and adding an orange wedge on each? Please! Then I tried the Fuji apple salad (the waiter -very professional- said: "a popular choice"): not bad. The usual salad+blue cheese+walnuts combination, but definitely ok. Wine choice was interesting.... More

My husband and I went to Eddie V's for dinner this evening. Everything was superb: service, food, ambience. Our server, Jeff Forshee', was the best server we have encountered for a long time: attentive but not at all intrusive. He was on top of everything happening at our table the entire time we were there. I had the lobster and... More

The family enjoyed remarkable meals here based upon word-of-mouth from Austinites and tripadvisor reviews. The occasion was to celebrate a special birthday milestone for my husband. Each party ordered individually and no two wishes were the same. My son still raves about his scallops. The service was extraordinary, too. Highly recommended anytime , but definitely for a special occasion.

My husband and I spent our 12th anniversary here and it was special AND tasty!!! We sat in the bar and listened to the great live music (nightly!) and enjoyed fantastic happy hour prices on the food and drinks!!! Don't judge us that we ordered TWO orders of the potstickers....fantastic!!
