This appears to be a very small place but it is near downtown with lots of large buildings around thus making it look smaller than it really is. Food is really good with large portions. The BBQ sauce is so good. We bought a couple of bottles so we could enjoy it later. The evening was beautiful so we sat... More

This was a little hole in the wall place near the convention center. Portions are very good sized. I had the chopped beef which was too salty for me. I had some of my friends sausage and that was tasty. My favorite however was the mac & cheese which was VERY GOOD. I also had the creamed corn which was... More

I've always liked this place, despite the lack of AC and the reliance on swamp coolers! The ribs, both beef and pork, are excellent. At times the brisket is a bit dry for my taste, so always ask for the moist side. Mac and Cheese is delicious. I like the free jalapeños - it drives me nuts that other BBQ... More

still good bar-b-q in a rustic close in setting. no frills here, just well prepared basic food. inexpensive and well worth it.

Went for dinner at ironworks! I ordered the beef ribs and friends had the pork ribs and beef brisket! The beef ribs were three dinosaur ribs of tender smoked meat! The pork ribs were baby backs and just as good. The brisket was so so as it was fatty and not so flavorful. The potato salad was tasty and overall... More

Some great BBQ which Austin is known for. A lot of good options here, from ribs and brisket to some interesting sides. I didn't care much for the potato salad, as it seems to be almost german style. No AC, just fans. But, full of charm and character that you expect from some place in Austin. Parking isn't horrible for... More

Unpretentious, but excellent bbq with a good list of sides and meat to choose from. I had the pork loin, one of my friends had the brisket, and two others had the beef ribs (huge!). Very good food, left believing we had the best bbq in Texas.

The BBQ is really good! The sauce is sweeter and the "hot" BBQ sauce adds some cayenne pepper. I enjoyed the pork loin and the brisket. The corn on the cob was pretty good, too. The folks taking orders were pleasant and quick, but the young lady cashiering was uncertain how to banter with customers.

Iron Works is an Austin tradition and is good enough to attract a long line of patrons lined up out front even on hot days. The baked potato with BBQ brisket is my fav here. Seat yourself in a spot with a view and kick back with old friends. This is not a fancy place where you will find a... More

This place is garbage. They staff act like their doing you a huge favor just letting you in the door. They won't let you get a combo plate, and if you ask for one, they'll look at you like they're annoyed you even dared to step into their sacred building. Their meat is dry, their staff is openly hostile. My... More
