Nice hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint. We had the combo, which is brisket, sausage and 1 rib. Wash that down with a nice Austin Amber and we were happy campers. You order from the counter and expect everything to smell deliciously smoky. Prices are very modest.

Had dinner there and got the sampler -with brisket, sausage and beef rib. The sausage was spicy just the right way, beef rib and brisket pretty tasty. The side of creamed corn was decent. The sauce was ok but nothing exceptional. The ambience is very casual and laid back. There is no table service -you take your plate at the... More

In Austin this past weekend with the wife and we were looking forward to lunch at Iron Works. We had dined here in the past, although it has been years, and enjoyed the meal. This trip left us wanting a better experience. The meat was good and the sauce was still excellent, BUT, the sides were horrible. The coleslaw and... More

Excellent Beef Ribs! Courteous and helpful. Aaron the Manager made sure our group of 18 were well taken care of!

We met for a late lunch. We found a good parking place, where parking is scarce. We were able to get our food promptly. There was a nice selection of unusual soft drinks and beer on ice. The barbecue was very good; however, I wish that I had bought some barbecue sauce in the store. They had their own spicy... More

I am Italian, I've been living in the U.S. for 4 months and got the chance to visit this marvelous piece of America called Iron Works. I got the beef ribs. I am pretty sure the pork ribs were better, less dry, more juicy, but they had finished them. However, it is a lovely place, so easy, so traditional. Half... More

The outside and inside don't look like much but don't let that slow you down. The food is really good and the service is fast. I had the sampler platter with sides of mac & cheese and corn on the cob. Don't forget the blackberry cobbler.

This is one of those "hole in the wall" places that serves up good food and generous portions. Close to the Convention Center.

Another convenient to the Convention Center option (closed Sunday and Monday at this time). Lots of casual setting, indoors and patio. Table covered with appropriate checkered cloths with the paper towel roll at the ready. Ordered at the counter, grabbed our table and drinks. The food came quickly, with generous portions. We got there right before the rush, but even... More

After eating at dozens of Carolina barbecue restaurants, this was my first try at Texas barbecue. If Carolina 'cue feels like you're eating on a farm, Texas ' cue feels like you're eating on a cattle drive. They threw giant hunks of animal in the oven and it came out rough, with the signature pink bands of slow smoking, bold... More
