Classy Mexican

First clue: valet parking, second clue, the place was packed. The interior walls and decor were full of art, paintings, lights, statues, flowers and plants. Huge dining rooms, seating everywhere, huge bar, low colorful lights. Ah, the food? We ate Appetizers. A kind of Mexican Dim Sum, when we... read more

The food was very bland Menu was very limited Nice environment Our server, Allen, was awesome. But other than that I wouldn't recommend eating there. WAY OVERPRICED for the quality of food.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine look no further - the food was fantastic. A bit expensive but the quality is very good. I had the Ancho Relleno San Miguel - which was a chile ancho filled with chicken, olives, cappers and almonds in a light cilantro cream sauce - it was amazing.

Colorful interior. Sat at the bar by myself with other couples. Not a singles scene. Had an over priced meal of average proportions. Disappointing.

We made reservations and the front staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Our food was absolutely wonderful. The waiter often forgot us and didn't bring us tea when we asked for a refill, nor did he return with extra chips and hot sauce when we asked. He also did not check on us much. We had a group of 7... This is the best interior Mexican food cuisine available outside of Mexico. The dishes are both beautiful and exquisitely tasty. The Mole sauce is the best I have ever tasted. Sunday brunch has a Mole made with almonds that is lighter in color and incredibly tasty on pork dishes. Drinks are top notch. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Fonda... More

We had a big family group get together at this local Mexican restaurant. What a treat. I don't know why but in New York I find it so hard to find a good mexican place and I just wish we had one like this. Really cool decor with some interesting art pieces and seating arrangements. Fantastic ambience and the margaritas... More

We tried the bean huaraches, lamb chop appetizer, tacos al pastor, cheese enchiladas with mole sauce, and carne asada. All were excellent, though the carne asada seemed overpriced at $38.95. The tacos al pastor were by far the best we've ever eaten and the lamb chop appetizer (served medium rare) was new to us and a definite hit.

FSM is an Austin institution. The food is always interesting and well prepared and this place is incredibly busy any night of the week. Most of the waiters have been there for a long time and the food is consistent. From the ceviche to the calabacitas rellenas, everything is worth a try. Don't miss the silver coin margarita . .... The food is great here - Yucatan Mexican cuisine. We had blue crab enchiladas - a special - and they were wonderful. Drinks & the requisite chips are very good. Beautiful dining room. Reservations are recommended - especially for a weekend.
