worth it.

It's a little pricier than other Mexican restaurants around Austin, but it's delicious. Fun atmosphere (when it's not packed). The staff is ok- nothing special or extraordinary. I've been a few times and have never been disappointed. Margaritas are good and food is always great.

I celebrated my birthday with my husband here last night. We had great service thanks to our waiter Jeff. He was friendly, knowledgable and attentive. We started with delicious margaritas and yummy chips and two great sauces. We shared 3 appetizers for our dinner. The portion size was great for us to share the Tamale, Tostada and Taco appetizers which... More

First time trying this place and we were not disappointed with neither the food nor the service. My son recommended this restaurant as he lives in Austin and has tried it, loved it, gotta have more of it. So here we went, stood in line, almost left as it was going to be at least an hour or so, ended... More

We were hesitant to try this place but decided to roll the dice and glad we did. We typically prefer tex mex to the authentic Mexican food so we were a little worried about the menu but wanted to try it based on the reviews. My wife had the chicken enchiladas suizas and I had the carne asada which is... More

We came here for Sunday brunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food served. Some brunches in Mexican restaurants have both national food and regular American brunch items, but, except for the dessert, pretty much every dish has a Mexican origin. There was a nice mix of regular and spicy food - highlights include the short ribs... More

In town on business, this place came recommended by a local. The dinner was excellent, and I was very appreciative that they honored our reservation even though we were late. The brisket tacos as an appetizer were flavorful and seemed right for a Mexican restaurant in Texas. The tortilla soup was very nice, too - just right in zest. My... More

I travel on business to Austin quarterly and make a pilgrimage to Fonda San Miguel for two things: the margaritas and ancho chili rellenos. Both are superb and both are worth the trip.

Took a friend to Fonda San Miguel. First time I had been there is years as I recently moved back to Austin. Everything was better than i remembered and the food was superb. Easily among the best Mexican food I have tasted. Will definitely be going back often and for the Sunday Brunch! Don't sweat the menu. Just order what... More

Sunday Brunch amazing, from the arrival at 11 for the brunch the carpark was busy good sign. We couldn t get a reservation in the main dining room so they suggested the free seating around the bar area. It was a good choice . The buffet was in the highly decorated dining room in the centre full of delicious looking... More

The food was substantial and much of it tasty. I really liked my lamb shank and the margaritas were just right. But at least one of my companions thought his dish had too much cheese, but this may have been because our nachos were thick with cheese too.
