Expensive but delicious

I'll start first why I am not giving a 5. I am a piping hot food person. If food comes so I can cut a forkful and steam doesn't rise, and I can eat it easily without blowing on it, this tells me the food sat for a few minutes somewhere before making it to our table. My mole enchiladas... read more

Whenever I am in Austin I must have a meal here. They have the absolute best Cochinita Pibil outside of the Yucatan...and their plating isn't bad!

We arrived to a very packed Saturday night at 7:30pm . Thank goodness we had reservations! Our party of 7 were treated with care and attention that was 2nd to none . We sat at the bar and watched our bar tender ( we all called him Lenny or squiggy) as he had greased back hair, shake up and do... More

This is by far my favorite Sunday brunch buffet in Austin. Reservations fill up fast but you can usually walk in and take a table in the bar area. Excellent atmosphere. Very clean, high end restaurant that is decorated in an authentic Mexican motif. Food is incredible. A huge variety that is authentic and delicious. I was very pleasantly surprised... More

Tried this on a recommendation of someone sitting next to me on the plane as I came in for a conference. We took a taxi from hotel near the convention center so be aware that will run you $23 each way. On a Wed night we had over an hour wait so make reservations!! The decor is gorgeous. Paintings, colorful... More

This restaurant is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. Delicious food in a wonderful atmosphere and very kid friendly.

My wife and I both enjoyed a terrific dinner. The chicken mole poblano was outstanding with a mole sauce that was simply the best I've ever had. My wife had the poblano stuffed with chicken and a cilantro cheese sauce with almonds which was also outstanding. We will be back on every trip to Austin. 7/16/15.

I've eat at Fonda San Miguel several times. Each time, the service is wonderful and the food is never a let down. For the quality of food you get, the price is entirely reasonable (notice, I did not type "cheap", but reasonable). If you're looking for a place to take out of town guests, a date, your family, etc., you... More
