One of the best brunches in Austin, in spite of the long line.

We waited almost 2 hrs for Saturday brunch (at 12) but it was well worth it. We got our names on the list and explored the street a bit. There are many cute antique stores around to keep one busy. Definitely order the fried oysters- crunchy on the outside and extremely juicy on the inside. The... read more

wow was brunch good! Our server recommended the ahi tuna salad and it was as delicious as he said. The butternut squash soup was fabulous ... The the Bloody Mary tall and spicy. We highly recommend!

We were going to have brunch this past Sunday and called ahead. We were told there was an hour wait and that yes we could call ahead, but they wouldn't add us to the list until we got there. Which doesn't make any sense at all.

Our waitress, who was so friendly and incredibly attentive, let us know about the special carrot cake French toast. My first thought is, well I need to see just how special they are! She was right. She was so absolutely right! They were thick so I immediately thought that they would be dry and hard but they were just the... More

I've had a very good brunch and lunch at South Congress Cafe. What I found both times was a bright, clean, comfortable environment, friendly wait staff, good food and an excellent location in the middle of SoCo. Each time I was able to get a table immediately, but I hear it can get very crowded, particularly on the weekends, with... More

They have a great menu which changes occasionally... but when I get the chance, I LOVE how they make the Escargot! I usually choose this place for a special event (birthday, etc.) but would eat here every day if I could. Their bar makes great drinks, they have good wines... and to make dining even better I have always received... More

I went here with my wife on Superbowl sunday and we had to wait an hour to get seated. The waiter said that the wait normally can bu 1-2 hours on a normal weekend. But the food was worth it. I was torn between the Croque Monseuir and the Shrimp and Grits, and he recommended the Shrimp and Grits and... More

I had the seafood cocktail for lunch and it was the best. Did not have to wait long for a table and the staff was very friendly.

I was in town for only 2 nights and asked the hotel concierge to recommend a great restaurant. She wanted to know if I wanted to try something a little different yet very "Austin". Of course, I was hooked right then and, seriously, I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I returned the second night. I had their blackened tuna tacos the... More

I like that they had a nice choice of many, unique entree's, like things with bacon and goat cheese. We had the carrot cake french toast, which was delicious but sooo rich. I wish I had tried the blueberry and goat cheese pancakes. Oh well, next time. I did order the bloody mary and was disappointed that it was so... More
