Great location!!!

I was meeting friends on South Congress and I stopped in for a latte and light breakfast. Food was good and the ambiance was fun. It got packed with people for the lunch hour as I was leaving so I recommend getting there early (11:30 am) if you don't want to wait for a table.

This cafe is usually packed but well worth the wait. Everything is top-notch from their amazing Mojitos, their famous Bloody Mary's and the food is to die for. I had their Butternut Squash soup and it was the best I've ever had. It's like heaven.

this is a very popular place in Austin and I enjoy going there from time to time. Nice little bar, though a bit crowded. Food is ok, service is usually enthusiastic and friendly. A good place, but not a top favorite of mine.

This place was amazing! We went for brunch and they told us an hour wait. We waited and it was so worth it. The other people I was with ordered the crab cakes and they couldn't stop raving about them. Not a big seafood aficionado, I ordered the blueberry pancakes and they were to die for! It's a shame I... The good stuff: excellent service, very nice meals, nice location, all good, though a bit expsensive as far as I am concerned. The big down-side: the acoustic in the restaurant is terrible. When it is busy - and it apparently usually is - it is very difficult to have a dinner conversation with the people you are having dinner with,... More

We just finished Mother's Day brunch at South Congress Cafe. Everyone was pleased and full. The four of us had a daily special of Nutella and fried banana pancakes with venison sausage - wonderful, an order of Migas, the shrimp and grits - spicy and fantastic, and the carrot cake French toast - wow!! This is a busy place and... More

First - call ahead. The don't take reservations, but calling ahead (what is the difference, really?) somehow puts you nearer the top of the list and you wait up to 15 minutes less) Secondly, come hungry. The Sunday brunch is more than fantastic. I ordered the omelet with artichokes and spinach and left off the cheese. The waitress suggested avocado... More

Ordered kale salad with poached egg and grilled scallops. The vinaigrette was spectacular and I finished my meal trying shrimp and bacon grits my friend couldn't eat. Delicious heat, perfect spice. Highly recommend this spot. Wait staff were extremely attentive too.

Went last Sunday on a whim as I noticed a line outside pre the 9am opening time. I was alone but was offered a table or a seat at the bar. I chose the bar. The server/bartender was extremely friendly and efficient. I had Migas, a wonderful Texan combination of scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, tortillas, cheese, salsa (sweet or spicy)... More
