Noisy, busy, a bit of a wait for lunch, good menu choices, good service! I had the lump crab enchiladas, not as wonderful as they could have been. My companion had the brisket hash - she loved it. We both had one of their specialty infused liquor drinks - I had the Fire n Ice - it was GREAT but... More

This south congress icon has a great location, a delicious menu and a bar that serves up tasty cocktails breakfast, lunch and dinner! For brunch, the Bloody Mary is hands down the best in town. A wide variety but carefully selected menu of appetizers and entrees has something for everyone. For dessert, the pecan cherry bread pudding is my fav.... More

So Co (South Congress) used to be the place NOT to go (whne I lived there in the '70s and'80s) now it is THE place to go. We arrived at the Cafe at 9'30am on a Saturday morning and were told it would be, at least, 45 minutes. They'd text us. My friend and I went over to Allen's Boots... More

Stopped in for a mid afternoon snack and drink, and were very pleased. We looked at a lot of places on South Congress, but were drawn to the eclectic menu here. We had Tuna Tartare with house made sesame crackers, and a fried calamari. Both appetizers were outstanding. Specialty cocktails were generous and unique. Jalapeño cucumber mohito? I think. Anyhow,... More

i met friends who I hadn't seen in 30 years at South Congress Cafe (at their suggestion). First, we are not as "hip" as we used to be and nothing is worth the aggravation of trying to find someplace to park at noon on S. Congress. My first thought upon seeing the menu was that it was very pricey. After... More

It seems whenever we go to this restaurant it is always crowded. For good reason.....the place has good food, great service, & such a cool vibe. Be prepared to wait a little, but worth it. This is one of a few restaurants I try to visit when in Austin.

We were two couples that went for lunch. There was a 45 minute wait time to get in, but they TXT/SMS-ed us when our table was ready. The waitress was more than happy to customize various items on the menu to our liking, to avoid shellfish, meat, cheese, etc. When the soup and salad came out, the soup was cold... More

Great place for our brunch! Had the crab cakes eggs Benedict and hubby had the goat cheese bqcon omelette. Both were perfect! The place was wonderful and very professional. Upscale cafe with little higher prices than your normal breakfast joints. Worth the Money for sure!

Love this restaurant! The atmosphere here is amazing. The staff is friendly and efficient. Best of all, the food is amazing! I had the spicy carnitas which were amazing. My favorite thing is the pumpkin bread French toast. It's the best! I make my own pumpkin bread and will not even attempt to duplicate their version. It's that good!

Food/service - awesome. Based on trip advisor reviews we called SoCo for a reservation on race weekend and were lucky to get a table. Meal was awesome. Had winter squash soup and the venison meatloaf, which was excellent and for some reason on $14. Restaurant is located in a trendy section downtown, but parking is a nightmare so plan extra... More
