My wife and I and our friends eat here every opportunity we have when we want the best sushi in Austin. The food is amazing, staff is professional and attentive and the price is fair for the quality. We always sit at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs frequently surprise you with something they create.

My husband and I are HUGE fans of Mikado. It has been our go-to sushi spot for over 8 years now. The Hottie Susan is my very, very favorite but I have never had anything that I didn't love. Oh, and the owner, Mark, is super nice.

This was by far one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten Sushi! The waitress was prompt, friendly and well informed on the food. She made suggestions that were excellent for both myself and the company I had with me on this visit. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

It just doesn't get better than Mikado. I learned to enjoy sushi in NYC where there a sushi bar on every corner and the best other than Tokyo and Mikado is just as good. AWESOME SUSHI.

Who would've thought Austin would be a hot spot for sushi, but that seems to be the case these days with the attention placed on restaurants like Uchi. Mikado is a lesser known option, but the quality of food is pretty high -- without the long waits or pricey tab at the end.

There were flies around the restaurant. The sushi came and it was warm to the touch, and appeared to be sweating. The sushi chefs kept the sushi case doors open as they worked and talked for several minutes. There was no condensation on any of the sushi glass cases, even after the doors were open for a good 10 to... More

Found this place on Yelp in NW Austin where there aren't too many options. I went on a very slow Thursday night when the main restaurant was virtually empty but there was apparently a fairly large party of japanese people in a private room, which is usually a good sing of good sushi. Since I was alone I sat at... More

I have to say. This place was Amazing. We made reservations for 8pm for a booth. When we arrived, we decided to sit at the sushi bar, and they had no problem accommodating us. My first impression of the place was good. The low light room with a quiet tone, gave the place a welcoming romantic feel. Our Waiter, Keith,... More

It was my daughter's birthday and she selected the Mikado in Austin for dinner. We arrived with her new baby in an infant carrier and her 2 year old and waited in the foyer. There was no one at the desk, but a man was sitting at a table folding napkins and just watched us and continued folding. I looked... More

This restaurant is a real treat and a good choice for a group because the menu has something great for all tastes. You essentially get multiple menus: traditional Japanese entrees, Japanese salads, exquisite Japanese tapas and wonderful sushi(raw and cooked). My wife and I usually order five items from the multiple menus and then share them. We have taken many... More
