Gotta Eat Here!

Have talked to many that have eaten here before that are from Cajun Country and they say this is really authentic. No small portions, get ready to take some home or share. They do have baskets with smaller portions but why would you want to get less of this great prepared from scratch food. From... read more

Another location Austinites have fallen victim to in the fad of "hole in the wall" places. The food and atmosphere was terrible. It does not deserve the rating or reputation that it may have deserved years ago.

I was in the mood for spicy crispy Cajun. I got the fried spicy chicken I really enjoyed my.It was fried to perfection. I enjoyed my dinner salad with homemade ranch dressing. My husband enjoyed his sea food gumbo. He actually said it was amazing.

The place is small and sometimes may have a little bit of a wait, but it is ALWAYS worth it!!! Love the red beans and rice and the crawfish etouffe!! They have a nice selection of cajun hot sauces to top of your dish. My son likes the gator. The french bread pistolettes are always yummy.

Popped into Evangeline Cafe yesterday as it's been way too long and once again enjoyed a great lunch. We started with the Gator Bites (Tender bite size morsels of alligator fried with spicy Cajun aioli) and they were tasty but I added more hot sauce to them to kick up the heat a bit. She went with my usual order... More

Came in a group of 7. Small place with not a lot of tables but definitely worth the wait. We ordered the boudin as an appetizer and we all loved it. Best I've had in a long while. Kids meals are not too big. The lunch portions are just right. I had fried shrimp in a basket and it came... More

We were visiting our friends for the weekend & came across this little Cajun place nearby. Totally worth the money for the lunch specials. Great crawfish too!

This is a tiny little place that rocks. Abita beer, regular and jalapeno boudin, 3 or 4 kinds of hot sauce that's just to get you warmed up. Etoufee, gumbo, just like you had growing up. They have a pan fried red fish that is to die for. Oh, the fried pork chop, lawd. With a side of okra and... More

My husband and I had the oysters on chips appetizer and the Boudin. We both loved them. We carried our dessert Pistolettes out. Really good. They had a Cajun band tonight
