Savory Cajun Food

The food here is simply phenomenal. The seafood is very fresh and always cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the barbecue shrimp and the crawfish etouffee. The red beans and rice are also excellent. The only negative is that the service can be fairly slow, especially when ordering drinks.

We came here months ago on our way through town, and I can't believe I'm just now writing this review. The food was outstanding. I had Troy's Favorite Lunch with seafood gumbo and a veggie muffuletta. I know... veggie muffuletta?? It was to die for. The gumbo was scrumptious, too. My husband had shrimp from the Skinny Menu, and it... More

Small little restaurant near Mopac & William Cannon. We go here mainly for an occassional breakfast when we have a coupon to use from them. Food is up and down in taste, service is questionable, and the atmosphere can be quiet or screaming with children. This particular visit, there were babies crying everywhere, kids running around, the waiter was profunctory,... More

Wisconsin foodies who relocated to Austin two months ago have found Cypress Grill to be our favorite. We have been too many times to count. The skinny drum fish, pot roast, crab cakes and on and on. Everything with extreme taste and fresh goodness. Love the sides with fried okra and mustard greens. Be sure to save room for the... More

On weekends, they serve brunch, but my son and I specifically went there for muffuletta. They don't usually make those since they're serving brunch. Our waiter, James, requested the chef to make it for us. That is excellent service. The muffuletta was good, just need a little more dressing. Anyway, I was satisfied, and full. The place is cozy. Lots of... More

Service is friendly and timely. For breakfast, French Toast with a side is outstanding and is less than $10. Trout dinner delicious and Bread Pudding w/ice cream cannot be beat! All pricing is very reasonable. Bar available with reasonable pricing, too. Located on West William Cannon Drive just past Mopac exit. Breakfast brunch is only served on weekends.

I'll admit I'm a bit of a Cajun/South Louisiana food snob but this place delivers. The etoufee is some of the best I've ever had, the gumbo is consistently good and even the salads are great. Entrees are a little pricey but you can make up for it with their daily specials and half price wine night on Monday. The... More

This is the next best thing to actually being in New Orleans. The fried gulf shrimp were excellent. The pork chop is also a very good option. They have good crawfish, even though it was quite crowded, the service is excellent. They also take reservations, they have a full bar, and a kids menu.

Excellent bistro grill! Cajun cuisine. I have been here before, and went again recently on visit to Austin. We went for Brunch on Saturday. I highly recommend the Cajun Eggs Benedict! Always made to order food and very good. The restaurant is located in South Austin at MOPAC and William Cannon. They have a FULL bar and wonderful food.

Very good value. This is a very casual restaurant - shorts and t-shirts seem appropriate. It was quite busy when we were there on Saturday night. The service was efficient and pleasant. The food was very good - Louisiana style, particularly considering the low cost. I found it to be a good value.
