So Good and So Good For You.

Thank God I have a couple of vegetarian friends, otherwise, I'd be visiting this place alone. (My husband doesn't believe in meals that don't contain meat.) A girlfriend and I enjoyed an early lunch here one weekday to dodge the crowds and actually find parking. There's such a great vibe... read more

Good safe place to visit in Austin but top .5%? I don't think so. Maybe top .5% to see the Austin culture but the food does not deserve the rank. Trendy place to go and good enough food.

It was recommended by a friend to check out this spot. My cousin being a vegan was incredibly stoked and being from LA it was great to have that comfort of many options to choose from on a menu. The food was delicious, portions were very generous and the staff were accommodating. Be sure to get the blueberry cornbread!

Don't know what all the 'hype' is about ...perhaps I didn't order the right meal? Knew about the long waits to be seated at this particular coffeehouse/café, but Saturday afternoon, 2pm, we 2 decided to try it because of its "blogged popularity" among Austinites. Waited 30 minutes for a table. Service is slow but very friendly. My husband LOVED his... More

Usually a Saturday morning visit to this very popular destination would be a mistake, unless you want to wait for a table while hanging out with hipsters and their dogs in the lawn - which is probably pretty alright. We ventured for it anyway, we were only in town for a few days and this was our only chance to... More

I live in So. Cal. and there is plenty of "weird" here, but nothing like what I saw at Bouldin Creek Cafe. Seems they only hire staff with tattoos and multiple piercings that look like they're headed to rehab. Not saying it was a bad thing, our food server was wonderful though she was one of the most normal ones... More

Great coffee (with art) and the food was also above par. Sat outside and listened to the lawn mower so just some unfortunate timing for us. Would recommend for a laid back, excellent, organic and vegan meal (not that we're vegans...).

Whenever anyone who is visiting wants to go out to eat at a place that is "uniquely Austin," I think of no other place but here. A vegetarian restaurant in the eclectic heart of South 1st Street, from the graffitied exterior, the cactus gardens, the art hanging….everywhere, to the servers who are anything but cookie-cutter, the energy of this place... The place is packed and there is often a wait for a table which I don't get because the food is pretty ordinary. Delivery can be slow, which I don't mind, and the wait staff is always very nice. I go there because other people like it. The food is good quality, I just don't think it's worth a wait.... More

Great vegetarian cafe with a big menu. I had the 'eggs renedict' which came with delicious tofu bacon. We waited a while for our table but this was during sxsw so i imagine it is a little less hectic at other times. Staff were very friendly and I will definitely be back for another visit.
