Pleasantly surprised

Working nearby and needed lunch close to office. Tried Curra's and was very pleasantly surprised. Had the grilled tilapia tacos and they were delish! Chips and salsa were especially good, very fresh. Parking is pretty dicey, but you might luck out as I did. The exterior doesn't seem like much... read more

We love Curra's and have eaten there many times, at all hours, for years. It's a local Austin hangout, one of the restaurants well known in Austin, a great place to chill. Excellent margaritas, delicious food, laid-back atmosphere (great wall art by local artist Henry Gonzalez.) I's a very Austin place. Let me tell you what I had tonight-- Juliana's... More

Hit this place twice during our SXSW visit after long night's out. This is the perfect hangover breakfast/brunch place. The breakfast tacos and burritos and borracho sauce are the best. Get here!

"Did I get you, hon?" asked the hostess/server as she spilled a full margarita right by our table, with some of the contents landing on my wife's leg. Elegant service isn't what you'll find at Curra's, but what there is of it is relatively prompt, and the food is decent. But let's face it: When you smother a burrito or... More

My wife had been there the night before with friends of hers, and her experience was so good we decided to head back there for breakfast the following morning. I'm very, VERY glad she made that decision for us. The place is as unpretentious as a coffee shop, but its food is second-to-none. I had the larger Alliss Breakfast Plate,... More

It's hard to imagine going somewhere that's famous for avocado margaritas, since I'm not much of a fan of the vegetable or of Jimmy Buffett. But the frozen avocado margaritas served at Curra's are incredibly delicious and incredibly addictive. Since I was trying items that aren't part of my usual palate, I also feasted on a delicious plate of fish... More

I've been here for drinks and appetizers and thought it was great, but this visit I went for breakfast and it was really delicious! They have wonderful house special dishes that are really a must try. The parking can be really tricky- it's Austin so if the lot is full, it's hard to find a spot and you'll have to... More

I will go out of my way to eat here, as the menu is unique and it's a great value. Curra's is funky and not fancy. But the food is authentic and they have a plethora of margarita variations. Service can be spotty and it can get noisy during peak times. But i still love the place.

The boss was picking up the tab today so I didn't have a strong say to where we were going to have lunch. One colleague suggested Curro's. I don't why I ordered carne guisada which I had on Monday when I really should have ordered the blackened fish tacos. The carne guisada was very good along with the Spanish rice.... More
