Curra's Grill is the the best Interior Mexican food place in Austin. It's not a fancy place, just very good food. The wait staff is busy and service is adequate. It's filled with locals and off the beaten path. The pork dishes are all good and we love the guacamole side salad. The freshly made hot sauce is the best.... More

My husband and I courted in this restaurant 15 years ago. We have since moved out of state. On a recent visit back to the Austin area in early June 2014, we were staying a hotel about 1 mile away from Curra's. Since they open early for breakfast and we knew they had a patio, we called @8:30am to ask... More

We arrived at 2:45pm and were quickly seated. Menus came, as did water and chips. And then we waited and waited and waited. We were tempted to order our margaritas directly from the bar, but decided to wait instead. Our waitress finally appeared, and apologized, saying she was restocking in the back. Our order was taken, and the food delivered... More

THe food is good, but the real draw is the avocado margarita. So delicious. Creamy goodness. I also had the vegetable tamales which were good. Good prices too

If you want a more authentic Austin Tex-Mex experience, I highly recommend Curra's. Their mole is fantastic and flavorful, and my dude loves the carnitas. They also have a "crema de calabaza" zuccini soup that must be tasted to be believed - yummy hot or cold. Atmosphere is funky and casual.

This is the way I remember Tex Mex food from once living in Texas: simple surroundings a little off the beaten track and great food. My wife and I had a good experience here. She tried the avocado margarita and liked it a lot. In my youth, I would come to places like this on a Sunday morning for heuvos... More

Great food with novel combinations. The avacoado margaritas are wonderful as is the home made ice cream but get an entree too! However, parking is difficult so come early or by cab.

Avocado margarita, kind of like a tequila smoothy. Excellent. Very helpful waiter who made recommendations and helped us Midwesterners navigate the menu. A couple of veggie options for my vegetarian husband. Liked the option of ordering 2 enchiladas each with a different filling and sauce.

I met a friend here for lunch. Since Austin is a non-smoking city didn't think choosing to sit outside would mean we would be surrounded by smokers but we were. It ruined my lunch. When I asked our server about the smoke she could have cared less. Not sure I will return. Apparently, you can still smoke outside at restaurants.... More
