So good... we went twice in 2 days

A rainy Sunday night, dining solo on my way out of Austin, was made warm and delicious at Vespaio. The energy in the room was vibrant but it was easy to read at a small table, with great olives and bread and the perfectly recommended glass of red, and finish with a plate of precisely al dente pasta cacio e... I have been going to Vespaio for 14 years. It is my favorite restaurant in Austin. I selected this for a special birthday gathering. In the past, the service was great and the lasagna to die for. On this occasion it missed on both. Wait time between salad and entrée was 20 minutes. The lasagna sauces were flat and missed... More

I have had manicotti in lots of places including Rome. This dish was a four cheese affair. My taste buds are still cheering! The Bloody Mary was pretty awesome, too.

Everything on the menu is amazing! They even surprise you every now and then with preparing something that's not on the menu but a wonderful mix of kitchen ingredients! Service is impeccable and the prices are spot on with the meal quality.

Enoteca Vespaio does an amazing job with fresh ingredients, homemade pasta, nice wines, lovely desserts. The duck confit salad was off the chain good, with the meat so tender and falling off the bone, but the skin perfectly crispy. Someone knew exactly what they were doing. Bravo!

The food is amazing here and is only surpassed by the service. This place is in a great area for fun and entertainment. I had the mixed meat special which included quail, tenderloin, and filet. The gnocchi was awsome! I had just watched the movie unbroken and the guy floating in the boat for 42 days with no food always... More

We've eaten several times here and at the Enoteca. Never had a bad meal. The food is genuinely Italian and not the fake American Italian stuff you get in most Italian restaurants, particularly in Texas. Its location on South Congress is great because there is a parking lot + it's dog-friendly and in good weather you can sit on the... More

Definitely my favorite Italian restaurant in Austin. Be sure to always check out their daily specials - my last visit I had the chicken breast risotto with Gorgonzola and it was to die for! The waiters really know their menu items so don't be afraid to ask them for advice. If you have a choice of where to sit, be... More

Given the issue with Italian restaurants in Austin (most are mediocre and serve Italian American rather than Italian food) we went with an open mind but without high expectations. Finally,an Italian restaurant that isn't a "red sauce palace".Overall the food is well prepared, ingredients are sound, portions just right and prices reasonable.Very light and well seasoned Zucchini friti, home made pasta cooked al dente,including...
