Squash, spinach, all kinds of beans!!! Heaven!!! Oh yeah and fresh made salad dressings...try the jalapeno honey mustard. A lot of these veggies and casseroles are almost as good as what my grandmother use to make and she had a restaurant in a small town in GA. Daily specials are great and this location has live music several nights a... More

HUGE menu. Southern, home-cooked food. A lot of space, so no waiting. Service was excellent. Food was good. Not over-the-top outstanding, but good.

This place was pretty low key (went on a thursday night) and nice to sit back and have a beer. Had the sirloin steak and it was good. Sides were both great and everyone in our party seemwd to enjoy their meal. Would go back if ever in the area again.

Threadgills is an Austin institution. The music is usually pretty good, but the food is fantastic. It's home cooking like I wish my mother had made. Threadgill's is better than Mom's. I usually go for lunch. Thursday is Chicken and Dumplings day and is my favorite day. The chicken fried steak is wonderful and huge. The veggie plate is one... More

The venue was open, country feel and the food was home cooking and very good. The waiter was very friendly.

Unfortunately the last two times I have ate at this location, the food was poor. It was either cold or dry, or under cooked. Also there are very few customers either during lunch or dinner. I think it's either time for the owners to invest in good cooks/chefs or close the doors. Sorry to see this Austin institution come to... More

Known for live music, I don't love the outdoor venue here, but the music is very good. Threadgills puts out some good food for reasonable prices. The Chicken Fried steak is some of the best around and large enough to share. What's missing here? For me the ambiance but I still like the place.

It had been over 5 years since moving out of Austin and was looking forward to having a tasty dinner at Threadgill's. Unfortunately, the food was not what I remembered. It was not hot, the catfish batter was thick and unseasoned. The asparagus, wilted and not crisp. However, the service and ambiance was great. Just a little disappointed in the... More

We were recommended by a friend to dine here. She said it was amazing but I'm going to have to go with ok. It's very Luby's style cuisine with a sir down atmosphere. Generic is about the best way to describe it. The only "real" cooked type entree was the pecan crusted chicken. It was definitely not "freezer to fryer"... More

My last trip was over 2 years ago- what happened?!?! My pecan chicken was fabulous but that's about it. The broccoli rice casserole was disgusting!! My mom's fried catfish and scalloped potatoes had no seasoning or taste whatsoever!!! We won't be back!!
