We have been to a different Threadgill's several years ago and liked it. So when we drove by on our way to our hotel we knew we needed to try this location. The restaurant was about a block away from our hotel.. not a bad walk at all. We ordered the catfish it was very good. We had great service!... More

Great home cooking served up Austin style. Great live music in the outdoor waiting/bar area. There is frequently a wait here as it is a popular place. Well worth the wait.

I hadn't been here in a long time and decided to take a friend who was visiting from the Midwest. It was a lot of fun. The menu is extensive, and there is a long list of home style veggies. I had the three veggie plate. All were very good, and the bread is great. The service was excellent and... More

The concept here is all about eating lots of vegetables. Its a graet concept. Again, this review of mine is from an Indian perspective. We like meat to be very well cooked. But the meat served here is quite hard (I tried chicken). However, a plus for Indians is that, many option available in chicken and also vegetarian.

Comfort food followed by some great music. Who could ask for more. Chicken fried steaks with gravy and mashed potatoes. Not exactly haute cuisine. But, definately the stuff that makes life worth living. Then, mosey outside and listen to some really good music. That's Austin. That's the stuff that makes for great memories.

As a local I am getting a little tired of the same old menu. However this is still a great place to bring out of town visitors. The staff is incredible and the atmosphere is fun. I only wish there was live music more than only a few times a week.

We had a great meal (SO. MUCH. FOOD!). Authentic home-cooked food and loved the ambiance and all the cool old signs and knick knacks around the restaurant. Great, friendly service!

I was in Austin for a conference, and a small group decided to meet at Threadgills for lunch. The choices are good, but the food is just okay. I ordered fried catfish; the coating was tasteless and unseasoned, while the thin strip of fish inside was too hot to eat. Sides were actually quite good--cheesy grits (can't get 'em at... More

Nice place. I got a giant chicken fried steak that was huge. I couldn't stop eating it as it was so tasty. Super friendly staff.

I stumbled across Threadgill's while in Austin for the the F1 Grand Prix - my hotel was nearby, and the music sounded good (it was Deadeye, I later discovered). Despite being a Saturday night, I was seated right away - opposite a big painting of all the artistes that had played there - it is quite an impressive list. The... More
