And maybe Texas. Inventive, great staff, and lots of local sourced ingredients (as well as international items like some fish from Tokyo's famous fish market) makes this a must do in Austin.

Our meal at Uchi was delicious and nothing we tried was short of excellent. The wait was very long but worth it. I would recommend making a reservation. Our waitress Elise was very attentive and informative. A delight! The fried tofu was outstanding. Hamachi sashimi melts in your mouth. Shrimp tempura wonderful as were shishito peppers. You won't go wrong

I hate to narrow this food down as sushi because it was not like any sushi restaurant. Everything was exceptional. Flavors were so balanced. Bring money and an appetite. Try as many different dishes as you can if you are visiting Austin. Get the foie gras.

Love love love! Best sushi ever. Hands down. Service is impeccable. You have to make a reservation though. Everything we tried was great but the best roll was the shag. Not cheap but not expensive! So worth it and the best place in Austin to eat!

A friend and I had a great meal at this very nice, family friendly restaurant in Austin. The wait staff was attentive, even bringing us things to try and a nice glass of bubbly while enjoying our food. We shared six small plates that were each beautifully prepared and presented. I call this "clean food", simple, fresh and lovely to... More

My husband and I just had, hands-down, one of the best dining experiences at Uchi. World class service (Thanks Elise & Johnny!) from the entire team. Mgmt was first rate as well. To call this place a sushi restaurant is to sell it short. It's a must for remarkably thought out, Japanese-fusion cuisine.

The tastings are such a great idea. You can sample some of the dishes and go from there. Service is amazing. Such so fresh and excellent. We go whenever we come to Austin and Houston.

Great experience. I would highly recommend coming in during happy hour which is 5-6:30 every day. They offer many food options which allows you to try smaller portions of some of their specialties at a reduced price. Everything we ordered, which was basically everything on the happy hour menu, is phenomenal. Can't wait to get back to Austin to try... More

The food here is amazing. The best, freshest, most interesting sushi that I have ever had. The only negative is that it's not exactly undiscovered; there's always a wait for a table, but it's worth it.

We are frequent visitors to Austin and like it so much that ,having decided to live here part time,we bought a home within walking distance of Uchi.We love Sushi and have eaten it all over the world, including Tokyo.Last night's dinner was the clincher that this hands down the best. The fish is of great quality and super fresh, there is minimal interference...
