Sushi for show and quality

The sushi here is all very well presented and all very good. I don't think I'd come here with a large appetite as it's quite pricey.

Read a lot about this place and actually booked it 2 months in advance to celebrate my son's graduation from UT. So off we went and when we arrived it was packed. Even though we had a reservation, we still have to wait for10 to 15 mins. Not too sure how I should describe the decor, I guess it's kinda... More

What can I say? This place is every bit as good as advertised! The food is so expertly prepared that it is inspiring! The small bites are a brilliant and the service is so warm and friendly that it makes you want to hang out all night long.

Great. Spent 2 hours eating and drinking with 4 adults and 3 children. Expensive, but some of the small dishes I have ever had. The beef and scallop hot rocks were fun for everyone. There were no left overs.

I died here. Foodie heaven. It's all I can say. Don't skip this place. Just don't. The food and service was superb. They deserve every amazing rating they have ever received. Just wow.

This is a special place. It was a mob scene on a Monday night. We got reservations several weeks in advance. It was an excellent experience, with good assistance in ordering from the wait staff, which we certainly needed. I especially liked the Sake, which was described as if we were tasting a wine - who knew?

After hearing so much about Uchi, the four of us on our weekend trip to Austin were determined to get a reservation here for dinner. Being major sushi lovers, and spoiled with the availability of high quality fish in Southern California, we had high expectations. We were not at all disappointed! When you arrive, you are greeted with a quaint... More

When I was planning my first trip to Austin, I asked anyone that I knew that had visited where I should eat. Several friends recommended Uchi, and after reading trip advisor and yelp reviews, it was the first reservation I made. I think the issue I had here is that the bar was set SO high. We arrived at Uchi... More

Read that this is the best sushi ever...don't agree with that statement, but this is a must for those of you who enjoy sushi if you are in Austin. We did not have reservations, so the wait was about 40 minutes. But we found a seat at the bar, tried some sushi rolls that were offered as a free tasting,... More

If you are in Austin, this restaurant is a must. Or its sister UchiKo. I know it seems strange to due sushi in this landlocked part of the country, but this is a gem. Nobu, Morimoto, Uchi. This is on par if not better than these famous places in NYC. The flavor profiles are something other worldly. Amazing small cold... More
