Oh.my.god. This place is amazing!!! Everything from the wait staff to the food is out of this world! We had a waiter Chris who was great! I thought I had good sushi in CO. I was wrong. I will come back to Austin just for Uchi. I am in love.

At Texas you expect great BBQ but finding an excellent sushi place was unexpected. The service there is great and waiters are friendly, eager to recommend different options. The food was so fresh, nice dish presentation and excellent flavor, all that we ordered was great, I would go back there for sure. Also they have a wide range of wines... More

I was shocked to find that at 530 pm the place was packed. Had to drive thru rush hour traffic to get there and was wondering if it was worth it. Boy, it was! Best sushi place I have ever been to in quite some time. I let one of the chefs pick dishes for me and all was wonderful.... More

The hama chili was my favorite thing that I had tried. You have to get this for sure!! It was the most FRESH FISH, It melts in your mouth. The Shag roll was ok the fried taste is too overpowering for me. The Suzuki sashimi was bad. The machi cure had a good unique taste. The bara mutsu had a... More

We were able to get a table as a walk in customer with only a 10 minute wait. The seafood was extremely fresh, but the most memorable dishes were the Uni and the Foie Gras Sushi. These are definitely must haves.

And maybe Texas. Inventive, great staff, and lots of local sourced ingredients (as well as international items like some fish from Tokyo's famous fish market) makes this a must do in Austin.

Our meal at Uchi was delicious and nothing we tried was short of excellent. The wait was very long but worth it. I would recommend making a reservation. Our waitress Elise was very attentive and informative. A delight! The fried tofu was outstanding. Hamachi sashimi melts in your mouth. Shrimp tempura wonderful as were shishito peppers. You won't go wrong

I hate to narrow this food down as sushi because it was not like any sushi restaurant. Everything was exceptional. Flavors were so balanced. Bring money and an appetite. Try as many different dishes as you can if you are visiting Austin. Get the foie gras.

Love love love! Best sushi ever. Hands down. Service is impeccable. You have to make a reservation though. Everything we tried was great but the best roll was the shag. Not cheap but not expensive! So worth it and the best place in Austin to eat!

A friend and I had a great meal at this very nice, family friendly restaurant in Austin. The wait staff was attentive, even bringing us things to try and a nice glass of bubbly while enjoying our food. We shared six small plates that were each beautifully prepared and presented. I call this "clean food", simple, fresh and lovely to... More
