No better restaurant worldwide!!!

UCHI is not the best restaurant in Austin, it is the best in the world!!!!! Whatever we tried was either "wow" either "oh my god"!!! Our server Lauren was sooo knowledgable, nice, friendly and made experience in Uchi even better!! Thank you!!!

This is probably the best sushi in Austin, but it can get pretty pricey. They have a great happy hour where just about everything on their normal menu is $6-8. If you get there just before 5pm you can get a good table and try whatever you like while keeping the price reasonable.

Something about the idea of eating raw fish I find off-putting, but I have a new appreciation for it after our meal on Sunday. The Hama Chili (baby yellowtail, ponzu, thai chili, orange segments) was honestly one of the best flavor profiles I've ever enjoyed. The Avo Bake (avocado, crab, shrimp, warm, yummy), The Cauliflower tempura was fantastic. The brussels... More

I have had sushi in Japan and Thailand that was not as good as what I had at Uchi. We sat at the sushi bar, and our own individual sushi chef. He explained everything and helped us make selections. The sushi, adjusted to my dietary needs, was awesome! The house sake was great and we were seated quickly. Go during... More

Try the Social Hour for great prices and the most creativity in offering. The daily menu also had great items. He kept suggesting, we kept trying. When we ventured out on our own, that food was also good. Loved the oyster I paid $4 for, even though it was small. What great flavor combinations. We each had a glass of... More

We had a ladies night and were served by Johnny, who was wonderful. The food here is unique, fresh and delicious. Must try the shag roll, brussel sprouts and Brie tempura. Wonderful!

Great ambiance. Good food. Really well done, but unimaginative and overpriced. Omekasa, the Chef's Specialty, consisted of $7-12 single portions of mundane offerings...toro, hamachi, kampachi, Saba. Bonita and escalar were exceptions. Hamachi sashimi was excellent. Very delicious. Not worth the $$$

The best Japanese food I have ever had! The menu is so diverse and out of the box. Some thing I'd never dream of putting together but this place knocks it out of the park. Worth the wait and not really that expensive. Portions are smaller, but perfect for plate sharing. Cauliflower was my favorite!

I had tried the Houston Uchi with friends last year and so when we were in Texas again we decided to check out Uchi in Austin. It did not disappoint. It was delicious! We actually just gave an amount we wanted to spend to the server and he brought us many great dishes. He was really great and even answered... More
