Amazing night of glamorous small plate items to share .

Most amazing food, none of it cheap but what an experience. Learned lot from our waitress, she gave good guidance. We just kept trying stuff !

Allow your waiter - or the chef- select your menu for the evening. Let him/her know any allergies, and be surprised with the fresh deliciousness. We were given a variety in taste and presentation. Well worth the price. Can't wait to go back with friends or even solo!

This restaurant is probably the hottest restaurant in Austin now. Called but all reservations were take. I was told that they do take walk ins, so we went. Not easy to find, partially hidden from street. I gave hostess our name and sat in an outdoor waiting area. No room inside. We found some chairs and ordered drinks. Besides the... More

So Uchi was a last minute idea I had to have a great time with some friends in a city we weren't too familiar with. Trip advisor and many other sites had Uchi as the top restaurant as voted by reviewers. So we went to Uchi expecting over an hour wait but was lucky to have to wait only about... More

This isn't my scene normally, but I rolled with it. And loved it. Great service and atmosphere. Seating at tables are tight so I opted to sit at sushi bar. Went with chef's recommendation for most dishes and had no regrets: -they started us off with a shot of mint cucumber soda as a pallet cleanser....amazing! -hama chili (yellowtail)-to die... More

We read the reviews and booked this restaurant a month ahead of time (5:15 or 9:30 was all that was available; we pulled in at 5:05 and were amazed at the flow of "traffic" into the lot, luckily valet parking was available to assist. We were seated promptly and our waitress explained that the menu is a series of both... More

We visited Austin to attend a conference, and were fortunate the concierge at our hotel was able to secure a reservation at Uchi. The food was spectacular, enjoyed by all of us including a vegetarian and a member of our party who eats very little fish. Our server was excellent and took the time to explain and suggest menu items,... More

Ok Austinites, after several years I've finally got over to Uchi. Yes, the food is great. And I don't think it's overpriced. But I do think it is way overhyped. Michelin Star? Seriously? The noise level alone takes it out of the running. Yes the service was good, but servers are running around like mad people. And we we there... More

There were 4 of us, me and my wife, our daughter & her husband. We opted for the 6 course omakase plus various a la carte selections from the day's specials and in part according to the recommendations of the waitress-very helpful BTW. Memorable were a Ceviche dish (exact name?), halibut in a curry sauce, quail-its not just sushi-and just... More
