Plenty of room. Excellent food and the price was verrry reasonable. Don't go unless you are ready to eat.

Threadgill's is basically a southern diner with a bar license. There are a whole lot of times when that is just what you need. My ratings take the genre into account so don't confuse this with Morton's Steaks, but for an overgrown diner it is pretty good. We had three diverse dinner selections and all were excellent; I am not... More

We used to look forward to visits to Threadgills for the home cooked favorites, but this last visit was disappointing. The food was bland, which was shocking to us as we remembered it with so much more flavor in the past. We would probably return, but I won't be taking friends or family visiting from out of town.

Have been coming here for years, but tonight was the worst food and service I have ever had. Our waitress ( bless her heart) was overwhelmed and I think she needed help. I'm not going to be coming anymore. Maybe it was a bad night but I was not impressed with the way it worked out. Sorry Eddie

I really did enjoy this restaurant. I have wanted to visit since the Visa commercial in the 80s! I was here for an early lunch, so I had very attentive and quick service. I went way off the gluten free diet and had the chicken fried steak. A little different from what I was expecting, but my standard is if... More

My mother had raved about this place. It was good country cooking but not the best I've had. I would probably visit again if I had the time but I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't make it.

I have reviewed this restaurant in the past and really like the food, however tonight was a horrible experience in service. Right up front I want you to know that I am talking about the North Lamar location and the entire issue is service, or lack thereof. I just got back into town after a business trip and my husband... While a huge amount if choices, the novelties were not our taste area. We tried the chicken fried steak and while the batter was crunchy and tasty, the appeal was lost on us.mthe Caesar side was acidy and the corn side was very tired. We went there vac use it also had live music but then discovered a $20 pp... More

We went to Threadgill's twice during our stay in Austin; once for dinner and had the chicken-fried steak and once for the Sunday morning gospel brunch. The chicken-fried steak was not one of our favourite meals but I'm positive that is just personal preference. The service that particular night was not great but I think the waitress was very new.... I went for lunch and can vouch for the collard greens, stewed okra, San Antonio squash and the chocolate ice box pie. Look for the 'M' in the vegetable section if you want southern style seasoning or the 'V' if you want Vegan. We each ordered chicken fried steak and I wish that we had chosen different items and shared.... More
