My partner, her vegetarian daughter and I visited 34th Street the first time for dinner a few nights ago. So this is a dinnertime only review. When we first entered we were encouraged by the cleanliness, modern decor, and ambiance of the dining area and by the friendly welcome we received. After settling in at our table, we were also... My wife and I had a great lunch at 34th Street Café last week. The service is outstanding and very attentive. I had chicken piccata with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables while my wife had salmon salad. The food was well prepared and tasty. We really enjoyed this place but the atmosphere is quite noisy.

Very attentive service. Was hosting recruits and good vibe. Food was very very good. Would like to go back when I could savor it!

If you've read many of my reviews of Austin restaurants, you'll see one of my common complaints is the lack of good service - BUT not here! BEST SERVICE so far!!! I visited during the busy lunch hour and ordered (at the counter) the veggie sandwich - I was enticed by the olive tapanade - $7.49 along with a Diet... More

35th Street Cafe is one of those comfortable places that those of us who live here like to visit. The food and wine are good and the price is right. This time my friend and I shared small plates. The pork belly shouldn't be missed, although the shrimp and grits could have used a little more spice and a little... More

After loving the flavors of the Food Truck foods, and digging Austin, this restaurant which was a bit hard to find and which appears to be a neighborhood favorite, is a bit of a disappointment. I enjoyed my meal but knew that I could have gotten the same meal on the East coast or the West coast. The fish I... More

34th Street Cafe is a small local bistro that serves amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast and lunch you order at the counter and pick your own table. By night, you are seated. At all times, the long-time devoted staff wait on you and the food is wonderful. What you get here is a twist on Austin dining and... More

Had my daughter not been given a gift certificate for 34th, we would have turned around and found another place to eat. Access to 34th Street on which the restaurant is located, was completely closed off due to road construction. We finally found an alley and the backside of an obnoxious green colored tin building which we decided had to... More

I had the Hanger steak and wife had a seafood stew. The steak was more than adequate, however, the tablespoon size of creamed spinach was ridiculously small. Also, three wedges of yukon gold potatoes, did not seem adequate. Although the spinach and potatoes were very tasty, the small portions took away from the experience. The seafood stew again was very... More

With a group of six, wife and friends. Stopped her after a program at UT. Everything was excellent. Got there early and had a chat with a member of the executive Team of the group that owes 34th Street Cafe and a few others. Interesting approach to running an excellent restaurant. My wife and I split a very imaginative beet... More
