Warm, friendly, I will be back.

I dropped in here by chance during my trip to Austin. I had no idea from the outside what type of place it would be. I was quickly put at ease. While I do not like dining solo, I enjoyed my experience here. Specifically the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I also got to meet the owner who... read more

10 of us had a dinner at this cafe and were very pleased with the food and service. We ordered fish cakes, salmon, pizza, grilled vegetables, soup, salads, and dessert. Comments from the group was that all food was excellent. There was an excellent wine list, as well.

Eddie Bernal has done a masterful job with this little gem just off of North Lamar. The Hack Chicken Salad is our hands down favorite, but I think the restaurant really hits above the mark with their season, locally produced appetizers. Very creative and always a win-win.....do yourself a favor and order the fried oysters....lightly battered and unbelievable!

Owner is on site and very friendly. Food is sensational: well prepared and well worth the price. My family, friends, and I always feel that we are treated well here and that we have one of the top dining experiences in Austin. Bravo!!!

Party of six, of whom two ordered the tasting menu. The rest of us sat and waited while those two had their first course AND their salad. Only then did our orders arrive! Was it our responsibility to ask that we be served sooner? Food was fair; summer squash on one plate was bitter, but it was replaced with another... More

Very good service. Had Chicken Picatta ($18)and half-portion of Bucatini ($13), and split a Caesar salad ($8) - all very good. Unique dressing on Caesar - served over long pieces of Romaine (not torn). Finished with Black & white cake ($8), which was excellent, but pretty small, so felt priced $1 to $2 high. Two glasses of wine (Pinot and... More

This is a very small, not so typical cafe. It has an uppity feel with a private atmosphere. With that being said, I did feel out of place by bringing my infant son with me, but the owner or manager helped to ease my discomfort by visiting the table and interacting with him. The menu for lunch and dinner are... More

I recently had to be near the Seton hospital for a family member ... I was so pleased to find a nice restaurant with locally sourced foods, an interesting menu and California wines. Decor is simple and comfortable, service was friendly and food was excellent - highly recommend this gem.

Not going to wow you necessarily, and that is okay. Friendly greeting, place has a nice, warm, albeit fairly simple (but cozy, could almost be romantic in places) feel. Nice menu, that changes and offers something for everyone. Consistently good food, nice wine choices, and always attentive, friendly service (which makes you want to go back sooner than later).

My partner, her vegetarian daughter and I visited 34th Street the first time for dinner a few nights ago. So this is a dinnertime only review. When we first entered we were encouraged by the cleanliness, modern decor, and ambiance of the dining area and by the friendly welcome we received. After settling in at our table, we were also...
