Tex-Mex Funtime Food

As a family/party style Tex Mex restaurant Chuy's can't be faulted. From the kookie Elvis themed décor to the brightly painted walls . the décor is as much a feast for the eyes as the food is for the palate. I had been told their menu was generally a bit bland and inauthentic but, luckily, when we... read more

Parking a headache. Service very friendly and good. Now the food. I had stacked enchiladas. Very bland as the chicken did not taste seasoned at all. Rice and beans great, salsa good. Friend had chili reyano as it was his fave place to eat it. He was also disappointed. They had changed the pepper they use for this dish and... More

Good, filling tex mex food. Strong drinks and good young scene. This is an Austin go to place, not fine dining, but you won't leave hungry.

We dined at the original and the food was so delicious - their chile con queso and the appetizer platter and the chuychunga (sp) was the best I've had since I left Houston, really really great! And the margaritas were awesome! Can't wait to go find the Chuy's that is in my home location now that they are franchised, hope... More

The chicken and beef fajita are recommended. The guacamole is tasty too. The tortilla chips are homemade and come with spicy salsa. Ask for the mild salsa as well as one like ranch. They are very tasty. Recommended dining experience.

Wait was 35 minutes. I would not wait that long again. Service was good. Food OK. I can't see any reason for the 4 1/2 rating.

Every August just before school starts, Chuy's has their Hatch Chile Festival with a special menu that features the uniquely flavored green chiles only found in Hatch, New Mexico. We look forward to this spicy menu every year and never miss it. This year my favorite dish, recommended by our waiter as his favorite, were the hatch tamales with a... More

Always a good place for Fajita's and chips and salsa. The drawback is often there is a line so you are gonna get stuck waiting at least 20 minutes.

A real experience in the wackiness that is Austin. Decor is dedicated to the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley. I visit every year on Elvis Birthday and Death Day and they have festivities on his birthday. Food is DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. You can usually expect a wait at this location if you go for dinner, but whatever... More

The best of the best in our humble opinion of all Chuy's. Get there by 1130 AM or you will be waiting. Ask for the special of the day. Its all good.
