Thai near UT

I stopped here for an early dinner with a friend who works at UT on my last visit to Austin. This place has a very extensive menu and several choices that I desired. I settled on a bowl with bean thread noodles, ground pork, pork slices, pork broth, fish balls, and imitation crab. It was rated 4... read more

Previously, the best Thai Food I ever had was at a restaurant in Dallas called Royal Thai. Indeed, I've seen it listed as one of the 10 best Thai restaurants in the US. Now, there's another one that needs to be noticed. Madame Mam's is just as good as Royal Thai which is really saying a lot. But in addition,... More

Don't expect much from this low cost Thai diner. Aged, low cost decor and dishes. Pleasant but unexceptional service. Food very mediocre. Great for a cheap filling meal for a college student.

This place was recommended by some at the nearby hostel. It was just what I wanted. The service was fast. The food was good. Noodles had lots of flavor. My girlfriend and I came back the next day.

Came here with family on a Saturday night and not crowded at all. Great food and good service. I thought the staff was friendly. They're Asian and not you're typical chatty Texans who will ask you about your day, comment on the weather or make 10 recommendations. They silently take your order and deliver. They checked on us a few... More

I only ate here once, so I can't speak on their consistency, but I thought it was great Thai food! The menu is very large and overwhelming, but it also means there are many options and everyone is bound to find something appetizing. As for food, we ordered egg rolls, pad sea ew, and one of the curries but I... More

Took son and roommate to dinner. Service was quick and the menu is rather thick! The Thai Omelet is made with five eggs, along with a choice of meal and veggies. Do recommend getting. Thai beef stew was wonderful, along with the chicken in rice noodles. We shall return!

I go to Madam Mams all the time. At least once a week. I have never once had good, attentive service. I usually order my food to go because the food is so good, but the service is so bad and slow. It seems like the servers have huge sections, but also they like to stand around. Also, the menu... More

My wife has wanted to try some Thai food. We heard some people saying that Madam Mam's isn't quite 'authentic' Thai - but ... we wouldn't know the difference. She had a noodle dish - with shrimp and I had a rice dish with chicken. (We picked ones with low spice). The service was quick, friendly and the food was... More

Healthy portions, nicely spiced, and varied selection. Service is always friendly and efficient. Well worth the visit.
