I used to love coming here and I was severely disappointed on my visit tonight. So much so I actually took the time to write this. The beans tasted like they had lots of water in them, the mac & cheese was about like Kraft, the $7 queso is just a cup & doesn't even come with salsa (that's $2... More

Hefty margaritas and good food, reasonably priced. The jerk chicken was well prepared; the sides were good, although the yams tasted more like a dessert than a main dish. The chicken was big enough to split (and that was not the "hoovers" portion). Appetizers were good, too. Service was friendly and efficient.

I value the opinion of the locals as much (or more) than TripAdvisor and both said this was the place for good food and service. Very southern with all the standard choices. Not expensive and good portions.

Ethnically diverse clientele and everyone has a great time. Food is great, except for the sausage which is spectacular. Good veggies. Friendly service. Generous portions. Highly recommend.

If you fancy southern food, then this place is worth the trip. Friendly service, and a good menu. It's a shame the fried chicken is only available from the truck opposite. We came here twice. The first time, I had chicken fried steak. I'd never eaten it before, and won't be again! But from the sides, and what we had... More

Second visit to this restaurant this year. I'm from San Antonio but have family in Austin. Nice surroundings, good food, good portions, quick & efficient service! Chocolate bread puffing excellent! Meat loaf delicious! Good margaritas!

This was restaurant was recommended to me as one to visit while we were in Austin. I am so glad that we went. I had the chicken fried steak, potato salad, fried okra, and black-eyed peas as well as a piece of the buttermilk pie while my husband had the fried catfish. The food was wonderful and the portions were... More

We visited for lunch after visiting the LBJ Library following a recommendation from the lady in the LBJ gift shop. She was not wrong! The meatloaf and lemonade were great, so was the service. Highly recommended.
