The food is delicious and it is a refreshing place to sit and chill and eat while perusing downtown Austin and the famous 6th street!

Like many have stated this is probably more of a breakfast place. The atmosphere and history of the Driskill make it a unique place. I had the Hangover Burger which includes bacon and a fried egg. Very good place to sit and visit.

We ended up having breakfast both Saturday and Sunday during our stay at the Driskill. Driven by convenience, the 1st day, we were pleased with the meal and went back the 2nd day. Everything was fresh and cooked well, the staff was excellent. I would recommend breakfast, should have tried the bread pudding French toast, but didn't.....not sure about lunch.

I had wonderful memories of the 1886 Room back when it was run by volunteers from the Heritage Society. The food at that time was superb! I guess I shouldn't have expected the same experience. The setting is lovely, in the restored hotel, the service was prompt and pleasant. My large salad was fine, but nothing outstanding. I was disappointed... More

We had to wait about a half-hour for seating on a Saturday morning. But the wait was definitely worth it! Good food and service in the historic Driskill Hotel.

We went here for brunch and had a lovely time. We had eggs and french toast that were both delicious. We sat in the area right outside the cafe so were seated in the very elegant lobby. It felt like a special occasion and was definitely worth the 1/2 hour wait. Another morning we got chocolate croissants and cinnamon rolls... More

We enjoyed a terrific breakfast at 1886. Since the wait for a table was long, we opted for bar service, which served a full breakfast menu. Make sure to peruse the pastry pantry, which is adjacent to the hostess stand. We ordered a cinnamon roll - one of the largest rolls I have seen in my life ! - and... More

Stop in and have the Midas for breakfast. Possibly the best I have ever eaten (and I have eaten migas all over).

This place rocks!! We stopped for breakfast of a weekday morning and were charmed by the historic ambiance and Victorian feel of the place. We tried the cinnamon rolls and the chocolate croissant; the cinnamon roll was the size of Texas, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The chocolate croissant was not much smaller, a rich and buttery concoction wrapped around a dark... More
