High Price, Decent Meal

After blowing off long Sunday brunch lines elsewhere, we were seated rather quickly at 1886. Wife enjoyed her locally made hot tea that had a ripe peach aroma. Our meals were good but nothing that I would rant or rave about. Hangover omelet was alright but something tells me the burger version... read more

Just got into town for the first time in Austin. Ended up here and had a delicious sandwich and burger. Food was delicious and the centuries old motif made it interesting to dine. Walk around the lobby of Driscoll Hotel , the oldest in Texas

Without a doubt the best breakfast spot in town. The perfect way to start out your day of adventure in Austin is to have a chef prepared dish and a real cappuccino. If there was an option to give a six star review I would!

We had lunch here yesterday. In the Driskill Hotel, so great ambiance. However food was ok. Would go there more for the location than the food.

Be aware that there are limited choices for breakfast surrounding the Driskill, therefore this inside the hotel eatery is your choice. Get the pecan pancakes. yummy.

We've been going to this restaurant occasionally for 10 years. The desserts are high quality and very tasty. The quality of the ingredients in the meals is also very high. However, the quality of preparation of the meals seems to have become almost an afterthought and the portions of the meals are now too small given the prices on the menu.... More

We had dinner at the 1886 cafe & bakery. It's more like a restaurant in a casual fine dining setting. Full table service with attentive staff. The food was really good and they had healthy options on the menu. Not just wings, burgers and fries but they had those too. I had the high county tots they were delicious &... More

Last breakfast in Austin and what a breakfast. We had to wait a minute or two to be seated but that was the only glitch. Our server, Emma, was quick to deliver an espresso for me and a decaffeinated cappuccino for my partner. We both had the Brazos Rancheros (Boring I know, but you try getting Huevos Rancheros in Austin;... More

Great place to grab breakfast, they carry the usual stuff, we had cream cheese with lox and capers, french toast powered sugar with strawberries, hot chocolate, coffee, oj and much more. The building is beautiful, the service was great and it was a bustling cafe. Food was great.
