Over the top baked goods

We had Sunday brunch at 1886 Cafe & Bakery. We shared a cinnamon roll that was huge and delicious! Then we had breakfast entrees which ranged from quiches to egg dishes that were all unique and tasty. The service was very good and the atmosphere is like stepping back in time.

We stopped by the 1886 cafe for coffee and dessert. The chocolate cake had been recommended to us and it lived up to its reputation! The cafe has a very friendly atmosphere and Tori, our server, made us feel very welcome. We did not feel rushed in any way, and enjoyed the atmosphere and experience in the Driskill.

Because my husband has many dietary restrictions (and I have a few), I always go online and check the menu first. There were several options on the menu posted online - so we went. Sadly, the actual menu was quite limited, so my husband really only had one choice of meals. But the food was very good. Atmosphere was a... More

Stopped in for dessert and coffee. The chocolate chip cookie was warm and delicious. The coffee was excellent, but the chocolate cake was the hit of the night!

We ate here twice because we loved the breakfast so much! Loved the decor. Reminded me of cafes in Paris. The eggs Benedict is scrumptious. Great muffins too. Location is perfect inside The Driskill hotel. The service was very good too. Be prepared for a wait during peak times as they don't have a lot of tables. It moves quickly... More

We came here twice in two days because we wanted to try the breakfast and the pastries but you can't do them both at once. My friend and I got the Quiche Lorraine and the Texas waffle. They were both devine. The waffle was in the shape of Texas and loaded with various fruit. The Quiche was amazing, the bacon... More

My wife and I recently had brunch at the 1886 Cafe. When you enter, you feel like you are setting foot into a European cafe. It was nicely decorated and very busy on a late Sunday morning. Our waitress was very helpful. We started out with Bloody Marys which had a real zing. I had the eggs benedict and my... More

This is a glorious, old-time setting so worth seeing. We stopped in for a dessert and coffee so can't comment too much about the food. My husband and I shared the hazelnut torte - it looked too rich to eat the whole thing and it was so am glad we shared (plus it's $8 so not cheap!). However, there are... More

I stopped here for a quick dessert after a work conference. It was one of the most delicous pastries I have ever eaten - a hazlenut concoction of gloriousness. The waitstaff was especially kind and I was able to sit at a bar overlooking the pastry chefs preparing other indulgent goodies.

I came in twice for coffee and pastries. Grumpy and slow. I came for a sit down breakfast a third time as this was my hotel restaurant. I was given a 15-20 wait estimate which is fine. 15 minutes into it a couple walked to the hostess and was seated immediately right in front of me. That is not ok.... More
