We love to make the trip to Austin just to have breakfast at the Driskell 1886 Cafe and Bakery. The waffles are shaped like Texas and they are crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth in the middle. They are served with delicious maple syrup and fruit. The coffee is fresh and hot. It is so relaxing and... More

We had Sunday brunch at 1886 Cafe & Bakery. We shared a cinnamon roll that was huge and delicious! Then we had breakfast entrees which ranged from quiches to egg dishes that were all unique and tasty. The service was very good and the atmosphere is like stepping back in time.

We stopped by the 1886 cafe for coffee and dessert. The chocolate cake had been recommended to us and it lived up to its reputation! The cafe has a very friendly atmosphere and Tori, our server, made us feel very welcome. We did not feel rushed in any way, and enjoyed the atmosphere and experience in the Driskill.

We had a great meal here our first day in Austin. I liked everything about this place: nice decor and atmosphere, friendly staff, and of course delicious food. I was especially delighted to see their bakery selection which included a personal favorite : pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant ). It was so fresh and delicious! The chocolate was warm and... Because my husband has many dietary restrictions (and I have a few), I always go online and check the menu first. There were several options on the menu posted online - so we went. Sadly, the actual menu was quite limited, so my husband really only had one choice of meals. But the food was very good. Atmosphere was a... More

Stopped in for dessert and coffee. The chocolate chip cookie was warm and delicious. The coffee was excellent, but the chocolate cake was the hit of the night!

We ate here twice because we loved the breakfast so much! Loved the decor. Reminded me of cafes in Paris. The eggs Benedict is scrumptious. Great muffins too. Location is perfect inside The Driskill hotel. The service was very good too. Be prepared for a wait during peak times as they don't have a lot of tables. It moves quickly... More

We came here twice in two days because we wanted to try the breakfast and the pastries but you can't do them both at once. My friend and I got the Quiche Lorraine and the Texas waffle. They were both devine. The waffle was in the shape of Texas and loaded with various fruit. The Quiche was amazing, the bacon... More
