Shady Grove is located in the heart of 78704 in Austin, TX. Nestled under the shade of a tall pecan grove, we have been serving up Austin-inspired home cooking, cocktails, sunshine and smiles since 1992. In the months of April through September, Shady Grove hosts KGSR's Unplugged at The Grove, one of Austin's longest running free live music series, every Thursday night at 8pm.

Come Back Year After Year

I visit Austin about once a year and before I get to my hotel I always stop at Shady Grove for lunch. The cheese burger with green chili cheese fries are my go to entree. I typically never order anything else but maybe a soup or salad. I have tasted a couple other sandwiches and they were all... read more

The place is awesome, great atmosphere. Food and service are pretty good too. This is a great place to have brunch and seems that they play music at night.

We ordered the hamburger and grilled chicken. We also ordered hand cut fries. The hamburger was not special and the fries were cold and horrible. Even the replacement fries were not special. It was so bad we won't be going back. Also the staff started cleaning and sweeping as we ate. It was in our face and rude! The whole... More

This place really does have exceptionally good food and a cool vibe...BUT, yesterday (1/15/16) my wife and son went there and not only were treated to non stop swarms of bugs and bees dive bombing the table relenttlessy--a very poor table next to the outdoor rest rooms, but they were treated like lepers by pretty much the entire wait staff.... I visited Shady Grove last November for my birthday after a day in Zilker park. I don't remember what I ordered but I clearly remember feeling a little sick afterwards. Recently we stopped by there prior to going to the trail of lights for dinner. I had the meatloaf which was just hamburger loaded with jalapenos. Within 10 minutes of... More

We don't get down here very often and it was 80 degrees on Dec 23 - so why not. We had two Asian Salads - one noodle with chicken and I had one with Spinach and Shrimp. Both were plentiful and delicious! We had happy hour pricing on margaritas and beers - $3 and $4. This was a totally awesome... More

Not too expensive, food was of solid quality. I had country fried chicken. Husband had green chili burito that he loved. Liked the queso.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the patio yesterday evening. Morgan was our waitress and was bubbly and attentive - but not too much so. The frozen sangria special drink was amazing. The Cobb salad with jalapeno ranch dressing was well done and generous. My friend had the green chile hamburger and liked it a lot. Even though the restaurant sits... More
