Very good Austin, Texas meal. Delicious "Trucker's Meatloaf" with Mashed Potatoes and Black Bean Soup. Top that off with an old fashioned jukebox, open 24/7, decent on-site parking, and large outside dining patio.

A member of our party used to live in Austin and took us here. Living in Colorado, we're used to funky places with incongruous retro furnishings, and this was really no different. To us, it appeared that the funk was the main draw. The food was pretty average and unremarkable, and it seemed very touristy--not really where you expect repeat... More

We happened to arrive just at the right time. Only a 10 minute wait which I hear is unusual. While waiting outside, our drink orders were promptly taken. We moved to a nice table in the garden where Jon took great care of us. I ordered the Southwest Caesar salad with Chicken and ate every bite of the generous portion.... More

We drove by a string of restaurants while visiting tourist attractions in the area, and my wife suggested we go back for dinner. We selected the Shady Grove based on TripAdvisor (and one of your competitors) reviews. Plus it was a beautiful December evening and they had lots of outdoor seating. I have been traveling to Austin for years and... More

great TX Roadhouse atmosphere, so near to downtown Austin. great for family groups. the WORST thing I can say is the low light levels were difficult for my aging eyes. otherwise all good. outdoor area would be nice in Spring or earlier Fall. having relocated from TX to LA 10 years ago, I really miss the TX style blender frozen... This place is awesome! They have the best bone in wings in Texas. I have tried alot of their menu items from burgers, mexican food and drinks and enjoyed all of them. Their bloody marys are delicious. Frings are plentiful and delicious as well. Outside dining very relaxing. Located on Barton Springs Rd and nice view of the street.

Good basic burgers/cheese fries/onion rings. Sitting outside is really nice -- they do have patio heaters. They have a really pretty outdoor Christmas tree.

Visiting my sisters in Austin for years we JUST experienced the Shady Grove. The servers were warm and friendly, the food tasty and reasonably priced, and the frozen sangria was unlike anything I had before. We were celebrating two birthdays with a large group and they were able to get us in and out (without feeling rushed) in time for... More

Driving by on vacation and took a chance on lunch as the place was packed at noon on a Friday. Weather beautiful and loads of people eating outside in the "shady grove" Very local place with great portions and good food. Loved the chicken tacos. Visited Shady Grove mid-week just before the Austin City Limits festival began with friends from out of town. Shady grove has Tex Mex as well as other options and and extensive drink menu. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and an outdoor band stage that was not in use the night we visited. There are multi-colored outdoor light strings... More
