Shady Grove is located in the heart of 78704 in Austin, TX. Nestled under the shade of a tall pecan grove, we have been serving up Austin-inspired home cooking, cocktails, sunshine and smiles since 1992. In the months of April through September, Shady Grove hosts KGSR's Unplugged at The Grove, one of Austin's longest running free live music series, every Thursday night at 8pm.

Funky old school Austin casual dining. Only a half hour wait. Excellent cocktails, Cobb salad, the Hippie Chick sandwich, onion rings, BLT. Another Austin winner.

We visited the grove on a Friday night with a party of twelve. Arrived around 6 pm and had a wait of app 45 minutes. That gave us time to enjoy the bar and lovely surroundings. We ate outside as it was a beautiful evening. Our food was excellent. We had meat loaf, fajitas, burgers, and a variety of other... More

Despite way too much rain which kept us inside instead of outside under the pecan tree, we had a great time. Great selection of beer on tap and in bottles and just what we wanted for entrees. She had chicken; he had pork chop, mashed taters and braised collards - yum. A beer each and a shared dessert. Need to... More

Sit outdoors and take in the ambiance. Even a vegetarian can enjoy a burger & a beer here. Love the style!

We were so happy that we found Shady Grove! What a delightful place this was to eat lunch. I had their classic burger and fries and it was one of the best burgers I've had traveling in a long time. Great atmosphere, relaxed pace, nice breeze, great food. Who could ask for more?

There's indoor & outdoor eating areas. Even though this is a super busy place, the wait was not long. In a previous life, it may have been a restaurant/trailer court from the 1950s. We were seated indoors - very spacious. My grilled chicken sandwich was delicious, and my husband enjoyed his meal, too. He got the peach cobbler and really... More

Just finished a wonderful meal at Shady Grove. Had the mushroom burger and "frings" (fries and onion rings combo), among with a draft beer. A perfect way to spend a Saturday while biking the Lady Bird Lake trail.

Shady Grove has an expansive patio for patrons to eat and listen to live music. The menu is also huge, and has lots of tasty options (I recommend the queso catfish). I thought the atmosphere here was just great - it's a very solid establishment, great waitstaff, and perfect on a balmy spring/summer/fall night.
