Shady Grove is located in the heart of 78704 in Austin, TX. Nestled under the shade of a tall pecan grove, we have been serving up Austin-inspired home cooking, cocktails, sunshine and smiles since 1992. In the months of April through September, Shady Grove hosts KGSR's Unplugged at The Grove, one of Austin's longest running free live music series, every Thursday night at 8pm.

Just as the name implies... comfortable.

We stop here whenever we're in Austin. It fits this city - just a little bit off kilter but serves excellent food, good drinks (I love their pina coladas), and in a kitschy atmosphere totally fitting of this city. I love their chicken fried steak and the wife likes their burgers and pulled pork... read more

We got there after the crummy experience at the canoe place, hot and sweaty and thirsty. They sat us right away, took our drink order and brought it right on time. After looking through the menu, I selected the Cobb Salad, kinda afraid I was going to end up with a sad little salad. Man was I wrong. The salad,... More

Cute spot to grab grub down in the Barton Springs vacinity. Cold beer, don't care for their margaritas, mostly because of the mix. Outside seating, plenty to chose from on the menu. Can be quite busy. Service usually very good.

Excellent food. Service was a bit slow but they were super busy! We chose to eat inside due to the heat and having a baby with us but the wait was the same inside or out. Reasonable prices. Grilled chicken tacos were perfect. Green chile burrito didn't disappoint but the rice was just so so. Pulled pork sandwich was good... More

Portions have changed size but still a good eat! Wish they had sweet potato fries! The Hippie sandwich is yum and it takes 3-4 people to eat the cookie dessert.

Stopped here for a bite to eat with my wife and toddler. Great service! Head to wait about 15 minutes, but the food was very good and they had an awesome variety of drinks! Even thought it's 100 degrees outside, we sat on the patio and we're still cool with all the fans. Fun atmosphere and a great place to... More

A really cool place. Eat inside or outside. Eclectic decor. Inside is dark and old fashioned. Outside is benches or tables, or sit at the bar! Popular on weekends, there may be a wait. Food is good with more than adequate servings. Beer is cold and there is variety. Mixed drinks are well made. Sometimes there is live music. Service... More

The Hamburgers are huge and cooked to how you like them. the wait staff was kind and courteous. Ryyan B was our waiter and he was very attentive to our table despite how busy it was.

It took us one hour to be seated in the furthest and dirtiest spot in the restaurant (next to the bathrooms which and at the bar's exit, truly smelly and shabby)!. When we asked for a change of table , the hostess told us we had to wait again at the end of the waiting list for another 45 min.... More
