This is located out in Davenport Village, west of Austin on 360, and it is *so* worth the drive. Maudie’s is my favorite Tex-Mex place in Austin, and this is my favorite location. Because it’s a little farther out than the other locales, this one has been a “special place” for me, as I’d only go there my birthday dinner.... More

It took 1.5 hours to get 3 lunch plates and some ice tea for 3 people. The service was awful. The food wasn't that great either. We were seated outside and the table tops were sticky with a layer of grease that doesn't get washed off with cold water wipes and no soap. Yuck! There are a lot of really... More

So, a jovial waiter comes up and takes your order. We never see him again. Later, our order---delivered by a bus boy---delivers the food. One order was completely wrong. The rest of our party ate (Mexican doesn't taste as good cold). We dragged it out. After we had finished, another bus boy brought the order. It was incomplete. We rejected... More

A place to avoid the gridlock of highway 360, at least for a while, this isn't food to write home over. If you're from San Jose or Newark and looking for a taste of Texas, this isn't the place. The food is o.k., and nothing more. The interior is all hard finish, so the sound level is high….let me say... More

We go to Maudie's often and there are items on the menu that are very good and other items I don't love. The migas and all of the breakfast tacos are great, as are the shrimp dishes. I also love the Maida's salad, adding shrimp. The Skinny Sherrils is a good choice - love the grilled zucchini. Also, the chips/hot... More

This place is always crowded during lunch because of their food. So, its always better to reserve table in advance to enjoy their enchiladas & fajitas.

Good basic Tex Mex. The cheese enchalidas are excellent and the margaritas are excellent. The fajitas are so-so. The breakfast tacos are usually good but you have to pay attention and check them to make sure they include a fair amount of each ingredient ordered. The queso is good - better here than at the Hill Country Galleria location. The... More

Very noisy and busy place with a long wait on the weekends. Is it worth it? Not really. Food is ok, not great. Service is good. Drinks are alright. But, why go here with so many other choices in town?

The drinks, food, service and the value exceeded our expectations. The place can get noisy at times but in a fun way.

Maudies has always been a great place to go for tex-mex in Austin. Although the food is very good, it is very noisy and is sometimes hard to hear your own table talk. The service is okay, though it could be better. The price is fairly reasonable for what you order. If you have a large group, you can almost... More
