A passion for friendship, food and wine fed the genesis of Jeffrey's. It continues to endure today. The restaurant first took shape in 1975 when Jeffrey Weinberger and Ron and Peggy Weiss, friends from student days at the University of Texas, pooled their interests, talents, and enthusiasm with three other pals to open an intimate neighborhood bistro in Austin, such as they had encountered in their travels. They were part of the first wave of new American cuisine, and over the years they made their mark with an original flair that is unmistakably Jeffrey's alone. Chef Deegan McClung is known for accenting regional flavors and ingredients with European recipes and techniques in order to create a unique cosmopolitan style.

Once again Jeffrey's restaurant proves to be the very best fine dinning experience in Austin. We began with the fried oysters appetizer which you must try. My wife had the red snapper and I tried the veal chop. Both were tastefully fantastic. We ordered the tart plum dessert which was deliciously unusual. Jeffrey's service never disappoints and if a mistake... More

This is Famous, High Class and High Priced. Famous for the tastes of George W and family. The space is not large, and the parking not too convenient, but the inside is nice, and the menu elegant.

Made reservations for our 20th wedding anniversary. Everything was outstanding from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere. Highly recommend for any special occasion. May be a bit pricey for just a regular night out. If you go in summer, the cold cauliflower soup with a glass of champagne is to die for. The popovers were decadent, entrees of... More

What a fantastic experience at Jeffrey's! We went here for Easter dinner and the food was outstanding. Best part besides the taste was all wines by the bottle are 1/2 price even on Easter Sunday....every Sunday. Service was impeccable; the ambience superb and the desserts to die for. Go!

In a city full of wonderful restaurants, Jeffrey's is very special. Every once in a while, I like to dress up, wear heels and have a formal evening. For those occasions, Jeffrey's is the perfect destination. The service here is delightful, not to mention the food and cocktails. Being a vegetarian myself, I've always been impressed by their offerings. Nevermore... More

Haven't been to Austin in years but I must say...I'm pleasantly surprised to now have so many fabulous restaurants to choose from! Our first stop was Jeffrey's and it was love from the first step into the room. Cozy, low lights, candles, attentive service & a great wine list. The food was equally as impressive. I opted for the crab... More

My wife and I stopped at Jeffries following a suggestion from our uber driver. I'm so glad we did. We didn't intend to eat but the food looked so good we had to try a couple things. It was excellent! The place was warm and inviting with a cool vibe, at the bar anyway. You bartender/mixologist was Abby. We had... More

Rave reviews for the entire experience. Chic decor and comfortable but the food is the star. Not just good for Austin. The food would be outstanding even for NYC. A meal to dream about!

This place is something special. From the driver that will pick you up to the excellent wait staff, it is all top notch. If steak is your game then you cannot go wrong here. I've eaten at "The Best" steakhouse in London, Paris, NYC, Chicago, Colorado, etc, and of course places all over the great state of Texas. No other... More
