Great beef ribs, skip the brisket

The line was not long at all. When we got to the front, we were all given a sample. Try the jalapeños, they were excellent! Austin beers are sold at the market just across the street.

Because this was. The cue where I'm from is dog food. I didn't use to care for brisket because nobody could make a good one, but this ... this was something else. (Y'all in Austin are lucky.) The brisket was incredible, and we tried a little of everything, and it was all great. The showstopper for me was the turkey,... More

Love, love, love this place! The wait is so worthed! We had the best barbecue ever. The meat just melted in our mouth. The four of us had brisket, sausage, turkey, ribs, black bean/corn sald, potatoe salad, cole slaw and bier. Everything was AMAZING!

I had heard about this place and read reviews, but this was our first time to make it there. We arrived around 3:30 on a Saturday and most of the items were crossed off of the menu. This is certainly not the restaurant's fault, we were later than we had anticipated. We ended up with brisket, pulled pork, bread, pickles... More

Simply awesome. I'm sorry but I wasn't going to wait 4 hours of my vacation in a parking lot to eat Franklins. While in line for La Barbecue plenty of patrons who were locals said they actually preferred LaB over Franklin. In fact, apparently there has been a back and forth relationship with mentor/protege between the 2 families who own... More

Austin is barbecue. La Barbecue is a semi-permanent food truck in an enclosed lot on east Cesar Chavez Avenue about 10 blocks from I-35. The lot includes picnic tables for an immediate dining experience, although nearly half of the orders are take-home. I cued up at 11:15 as 77th in line. At 65 to go the beef ribs were gone.... More

Had tried to stop at Franklins with large family group but saw a long line and we were on a schedule. Made it over to La Barbecue and found it DELICIOUS!!! Brisket fell apart good with excellent seasoning. Chopped beef sandwich was great. Another family member ordered the pork and it was loaded. Unfortunately out of slaw! Long line in... More

Brisket was too salty and fatty. We were up close in line and they were already out of potato salad and beef ribs. Overpriced and not worth the wait.

I was physically not able to eat dinner at 8pm after eating lunch at 12:45pm. Never been to Franklin BBQ before but if it's better than La BBQ, then the line makes sense. It's a bit like As for the line at La BBQ, we showed up at 12:20 on a Wednesday and it might have been 10-15 min. Not... More

Finally made it here on a Friday around 2:00pm. I was expecting the horrible waiting line that everyone talks about but upon arrival there was only about 10 people in line which made it perfect to actually check out the menu and make my selection. The sancho loco was delicious it's sausage, brisket, and pulled pork with pickled onions on... More
