We went for a family lunch buffet and the were in for a pleasant surprise with small crispy masala dosa's along with the meal. They were atrociously delicious !! The starters with palak pakodas n masala vada were awesome. The trouble started with the main course, the daal n palak were oily & the roti's were soggy. The kheer was... More

If you are Indian, you will realize how terrible is the indian food there. dont go. Not sure if the food is modified as per American taste, but an authentic Indian food will definitely be much much better.

My wife and i have visited Royal for the weekday lunch buffet twice, both times it was very good, if you're new to Indian food, a buffet is the way to go, if you're a seasoned veteran and know there's a lot of things you like and don't want to settle for a few entrees, this is a good place... More

Arrived in Austin April 14th 2014. In town for Moto GP at the Circuit of the America's. Stayed at Holiday Inn, Sunset Valley and next door was the Royal India. Never had Indian food before. I asked the manager to be gentle with the spices and he suggested Chicken Marsala for a first timer with medium heat. I could taste... More

We have traveled throughout India and have been to untold number of Indian restaurants in many countries. We think this may be the best Indian cuisine we have had. Unlike many Indian restaurants, this one has a fully stocked bar and an ample wine selection. From appetizers to desserts everything was tasty and perfectly seasoned. What a joy to dine... More

The service is fantastic. The food is great. I have never tasty such good fresh food. It seems like they prepare/blend/grind spices the same day. The taste is so fresh. The atmosphere is very tradional Indian with soft music playing in the back ground. One must visit this restaurant while in Austin Texas.

went for a family dinner & all of us ended up with diarrhea & cramps the very next morning. Very disappointed. The service is nice though, I will give them that. Definitely not going back.

We ordered takeaway from Royal India and enjoyed every dish. The pappadum ($2) were crispy and tasty. The butter chicken ($14), lamb saag ($15), and garlic naan ($3.50) all exceeded expectations. We will definitely return.

The buffet was one of the best Indian buffets that I have eaten at. There was about 20 choices and a small salad bar.

I'm not an expert on Indian food; some reviews say the food offered here is tempered for the American and palette which it may be, but my husband and I certainly enjoyed it. Probably the best Indian food we've had and plenty of it. Nice atmosphere, gracious, friendly staff. We were staying in the hotel right next door and would... More
