Falafel Heaven - Vegan Friendly

We enjoy falafel sandwiches so much that I make them from scratch at home. On our recent Austin trip, Maoz did not disappoint. The plentiful buffet of toppings and condiments would keep me coming back for variety of only we lived closer. The menu has clearly marked vegan items (rice pudding!) and... read more

I have been to this restaurant numerous times in the last two years. I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience. The food is healthy, tasty and reasonably priced. Their falafels are fantastic. The veggie accessories that come with the meal are excellent as well. The restaurant is clean and the owners are very nice and accommodating.... More

I should have prefaced the title of this review - finally *good* falafel in Austin. I am a definite sucker for falafel and Middle Eastern Food, and living in Michigan for most of my life, I was rather spoiled by its sheer abundance. But, allow me to happily say that Maoz' falafel passes the test with vibrant colors. Fried in... More

A friend is a new vegetarian and we're always on the hunt for new places to eat. Maoz sounded interesting (unlimited salad toppings?? Say what?) It's in the triangle area but not the street where there is NEVER parking but one street south where you can usually find a spot easily. I am fairly indifferent to the cleaniness of a... More

Place is clean and trendy in a strip mall on Lamar Ave. Try the veggy BBQ in a pita pocket. You will be amazed!

Pros: fast; friendly; fresh; good fresh juice-customized on request. Cons: unlike other falafel outlets you have to pick and makeup your own pita or wrap; can get a bit pricy with the extras.

Went to visit my UT freshman who 's going through a vegetarian phase so I searched for a vegetarian restaurant & this popped up. The falafel was a big draw & treated her & her roommate out to lunch and we'll definitely be back. The falafel didn't disappoint. It was very tasty & moist, great salad bar (the brococoli's a... I met up with some vegetarian friends at Maoz today, it was the 5th or 6th time I've eaten here. I've always found the food to be good, I'm not a vegetarian but I enjoy the falafel, the hummus and the salads. I particularly enjoy their broccoli, I'm not sure how they cook it but it's very flavorful. The staff... More

If I were to expire today, I would want to awake in the paradise that is Maoz, even with the wall to wall ceiling to floor green tile. The menu choices are simple and concise. Falafel, do you want fries, salad or soup with that? And as if delicious falafel balls in a warm gigantic pita weren't enough, they let... More

Salad bars are few and far between in Austin and Maoz is a MUST! We have been back twice in the same week. Everything is prepared from scratch in house; they also make fresh soups and during the summer will be serving gazpacho; Anne, the owner very kindly brought us some to taste and it was absolutely delicious.
