If it wasn't for the smoke flavor, the rigs wouldn't have any flavor at all. Sauce was very disappointing. I've had much better BBQ at chain restaurants.

I went to Blue Ribbon after taking my dog on a nice walk around Town Lake- so honestly I decided last minute to try their food. I got the 2 meat plate and was very impressed with the brisket, which was juicy as I requested, and it was not as salty as other BBQ I had tried recently. Overall it... More

This place was a total let down for Texas barbecue. My sliced BBQ sandwich was awful. First the bread was hard and dried out, I couldn't eat it. Then my beef had a ton of fat on it. I had to cut it all off before I could eat it. Then the BBQ sauce was thin like water and had... More

This place doesn't look like much, but I snuck in for a breakfast one morning. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to 'build' some smoked meat breakfast tacos. Offerings include brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage and more. Add egg, cheese, jalapenos, and other ingredients of choice. The value is great with great tast and something different than your hotel's buffet breakfast.... More

Located near the convention center, this is a convenient place if you are staying downtown in that area. Typical BBQ selection but the brisket is offered as "dry or moist" if you are watching fat intake...good banana pudding. Easy walk to many of hotels in the area. Great for quick lunch.

For me this was the perfect lunch spot for my 1st Texan BBQ experience. I felt completely comfortable eating alone here. I had the chicken, it exceeded my expectations. Don' forget to add their BBQ Sauce, it was great!!B The banana pudding was a perfect sweet-bite to end the meal.

This is a hole in the wall inside the Frost Bank building along the 4th street side. I think their pork ribs are very, very good. Lunch plates are solid value at around $12. I like their sides - you can get salad, green beans, red beans, etc. Their breakfast tacos are all made to order, and you can get... More

Was looking forward to some really good BBQ while in Austin. I was directed to this one and was told it was delicious. I had a chopped beef sandwich. The beef was actually too finely chopped. The BBQ sauce had no flavor or tang to it. The staff was very friendly. Banana pudding was good.

It was hot, we were hungry and in search of an eatery. We decided to try Blue Ribbon as we could not locate any food trucks. I enjoyed it! The staff was friendly, we sat in a nearly empty, air-conditioned room, and I thought the food was not bad. The cups are huge. Everything really is bigger here. The slaw... More

Will attending a conference in Austin this week we ate the best Pork Ribs I have ever tasted... Just a short walk down 4th St from the Hilton, fast service, friendly people, and reasonably priced. Plus all the condiments you could hope for, pickles, onions, jalapeño peppers, shredded cheese, bacon bits, and white and wheat bread. We also had a... More
