If you want to have a spectacular price fixed dinner with many amazing small tastings, this is the place to go for that special evening. Each tasting surpassed the next--creative innovative food served with kindness and professional service. We cannot recommend this restaurant high enough if you have the time and enjoy superlative fresh food.

Barley Swine is one of Austin's gems and rightfully so with it's rustic, eclectic interior, friendly staff and great food. We opted for an early Valentine's Day dinner here in early February and chose to entirely follow the tasting menu including the drink pairings. Our evening started with a babysitter fire drill with a no show and thankfully a replacement,... More

Great locally sourced food with attention to detail and a truly amazing experience. I was able to sit at the bar to I could watch the chefs at work. Definitely going back as they change their menu according to what is available locally. This place is a real treat!

So, we have taken advantage of the restaurant scene in Houston, some of which do the small-plate-excellent-flavor-multiple-course- experience. So, when we were in Austin for a concert, we sought out the Barley Swine. What a great experience. While the room got loud as it got full, we could still hear each other and were seated at the bar to watch... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion and had a wonderful time. They have a 12-course tasting menu for $75, and everything we tried was very creative. The staff is also ver accommodating; they modified their regular menu for me (I am pescetarian). The wine and beer selection is also quit good.

What an amazing dining experience we had at this unique restaurant. I love the concept of small bites, as well as food and drink pairings. We had 12 delightful, delicious and inventive bites that were perfectly paired with wine and beer. If I had to pick an favorite (which is no easy task) it was the pig skin noodles with... More

A cozy, restaurant with a rustic feel. If you have a group of 4 you'll likely have your own table, if a couple you might share, but you can still have a relatively private conversation. The food is great, tasty, creative and served over about 12 courses of small, tapas type portions. You feel full when done. We had ours... More

Our kids gave us a gift certificate for Christmas, as they wanted us to experience this great restaurant with a unique menu and atmosphere. We were not disappointed, in fact we were delighted, we had the tasting menu with wine and beer pairing, seated at the counter right in front of the kitchen. The food was outstanding, having dined only... More

simply go there, booking well in advance to enjoy interesting food combination with farm to table concept in the back of your head! Lively and noisy atmosphere of Gastropub with young patrons and innovative cooking. Good wines, nice menus with interesting choices. We had menu and were never disappointed!

Barley Swine is an Austin spot all the way. An old retail strip on S. Lamar is its location. There is very limited seating and no real private spot anywhere, more communal than not. Service is a model for a lot of places to emulate for sure. On Thursday I stopped in to check it out and see if it... More
