As a vegetarian I often get the short end of the stick in a nice restaurant. Until tonight I would have ranked Uchiko at the top of the top as a vegetarian given their variety of vegan sushi but now that I have had the Barley Swine vegetarian experience I have to say I have a new number 1! My... More

I went with a group and we shared a selection of creatively presented and delicious dishes from the seasonal small plates menu. The Egg topped French fries are surprisingly yummy. The pork was out of this world! And of course, they have an outstanding beer menu.

Barley Swine exceeded our expectations. Each course of the tasting menu was unique and flavorful. If you love food and want to experience interesting flavors, this is the place to eat. The entire tasting menu turns over every 30 days. We will definitely be back.

We walked in not knowing the format of this restaurant, but it was immediately explained to us, including price. So if we didn't want to go for this culinary adventure, we had full disclosure! So glad we said yes! Every new dish that came out was a beautiful surprise, and the flavors exploded in our mouths. Lovely composition, fabulously delicious... More

We had such a great meal here. 12 courses of amazing food & fantastic service. Even the palate cleanser is to die for. Ask to sit at the counter so you can watch the magic happen. They will accommodate any type of diet restrictions or allergies gladly.

The food is very good. Thirteen courses is a bit much if you are one who feels compelled to clean your plate. Pace yourself. Sit at the bar and watch the preparation and the orchestration. Amazing.

3 hours, 14 courses (with tiny, tiny portions), not one mention of prices (until I got the bill, which, without booze, was almost $100 a person!) - not even close to the over-the-top critical acclaim that this place has received. Whomever's behind "The Swine" is laughing all the way to the bank, I can see the initial meeting: "Let's pay... More

My husband and I went to Barley Swine for Valentine's Day. We both got the wine pairing with dinner. The 13 (or so - didn't really count) small plates were all tasty. Of course, we liked some more than others. The wine pairings worked well with their respective dishes. We had a great time, and the food was good. I... More

This was an excellent dining experience. 13 small courses with incredible variation, super taste and very attractive presentations. You can go to their website and get a very good feel for the various dishes they serve. They frequently change their menu. About 40 seats and 15 knowledgable employees leads to super service. They did not blink with two members of... More

More than just a restaurant. It's an experience. Quite small with community seating so there is a nice relaxed atmosphere in the place. We sat at the bar facing the open kitchen where we could see the chefs preparing the dishes. There is no menu as such. You just get thirteen small plates of food prepared from what ever is... More
