This place is TINY, so call ahead or expect to wait! There's a chance you will be sharing a table with other people, unless you arrive as a big party. Food is small portioned and meant to be shared. It's pricey, but its excellent!

Fun presentations of tasting bites of food to be shared. Tables seat 6 on high stools and others may be at your table if you have less than 6. Make reservations well in advance. Noisy and very busy, but wait staff is attentive. We were served 12 courses of bites for $75 each so it's pricey, but you get to... More

Time investment to experiment with food and presentation must be unending. If you enjoy playing with scrumptious, entertaining, unending delectable s to sample and discuss.... and then you are so full. We loved it!!!

One of the most inventive and outstanding meals I have ever had. The courses built upon each other and were well paired with the wine course. The presentations were also amazing, and the staff was knowledgeable and attentive. I would not consider it a gastro pub, it is a true gourmet experience. This is the type of place that put... More

Finally made the scene; loved the presentation, seasoning was adventuresome, not overwhelming; all in all the food was fabulous, except the mussels were a little aged. Atmosphere: BS still adheres to the tired adage that noise equals success--every 1/2 hour the decibel level of the piped in sound rose to cover the conversational buzz, which made conversation impossible.

I've heard great things for some time about Barley Swine and its noted chef. But, for some reason, we hadn't gotten around to dining there until tonight. We were so pleased, I am virtually speechless. Simply put, it's spectacular. I could rave about virtually all of the 14 small courses. I could go on and on about the fine wine... More

As a vegetarian I often get the short end of the stick in a nice restaurant. Until tonight I would have ranked Uchiko at the top of the top as a vegetarian given their variety of vegan sushi but now that I have had the Barley Swine vegetarian experience I have to say I have a new number 1! My... More

I went with a group and we shared a selection of creatively presented and delicious dishes from the seasonal small plates menu. The Egg topped French fries are surprisingly yummy. The pork was out of this world! And of course, they have an outstanding beer menu.

Barley Swine exceeded our expectations. Each course of the tasting menu was unique and flavorful. If you love food and want to experience interesting flavors, this is the place to eat. The entire tasting menu turns over every 30 days. We will definitely be back.

We walked in not knowing the format of this restaurant, but it was immediately explained to us, including price. So if we didn't want to go for this culinary adventure, we had full disclosure! So glad we said yes! Every new dish that came out was a beautiful surprise, and the flavors exploded in our mouths. Lovely composition, fabulously delicious... More
