Love the history here and the 1886 Café was awesome for lunch with friends! The breads were amazing, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was the best! The Cheese Soup was to die for....absolutely the best I have ever tasted!!! The Hotel staff was very accommodating while we wandered the hotel before lunch soaking up the atmosphere. Their bakery... The food is actually excellent and so is the service, so please understand that this would have rated as a 5 if it hadn't been for the price and for a credit card overcharge. When the cost-benefit relationship is factored in, I'm more at a 3 for this particular overall experience. The meal for 2 was $175, plus the bar... More

I stayed as a youth at the Driskill when President Johnson held court at the Driskill. I was a swimmer on the traveling circuit and stood amazed at the incredible and venerable establishment. I still feel the way about the building and many of the employees try to hold up the grand style by making service a part of their... More

This used to be one of the best restaurants in the city, with excellent service and top-notch cuisine. Those days are long behind us now. The Driskill Grill is, unfortunately, one of those legacy restaurants. Because it is in a beautiful setting, and used to be fantastic, it is still sitting on the laurels earned long ago. My recommendation would... More

The service by Erin was perfect. We didn't stay at the hotel, but wanted to eat somewhere nice. We were just walking 6th street and looking in all the restaurants until we saw this one. You could eat outdoors, so we were sold. I ordered a sandwich with chicken and cheese, I forgot what it was called, but I'm still... More

The place we intended to eat wasn't open at lunch time so we tried the Driskill Grill. The staff was very polite and the burger was fantastic. Their fries are also very impressive and delivered with a nice presentation. The only complaint I might have is that the actual room itself was pretty cramped and not easy to navigate without... My lady friend and I chose the Driskill Hotel as a destination site to celebrate New Years Eve. We had dinner in the Driskill Grill in the hotel. Being New Years Eve, we knew there would be a fixed menu with a few choices. We were disappointed I with the dinner, 125.00 per person, and unbelievably small portions. The first... More

We really enjoyed breakfast, good coffee and a regional style of eggs, the bread pudding french toast was excellent. We went back for dinner, and it was fine but not outstanding.

I've dined at some outstanding restaurants in my life and looked forward to another great experience. This did not quite meet my expectations. This was a $125.00 per person dinner not counting the automatic 20% tip. The servers were great and deserved every bit of the tip; however, the meal portions were ridiculously small with barely enough to enjoy the... More

Very disappointed with our experience on Saturday night. Lovely room and food was good but the service was exceptionally slow, uncaring and unfriendly. Turned out to be a 4 hour dinner. Most of the time was spent waiting! We had a 5 star experience last year before it was taken over by the Hyatt. Too bad.

Dear Roni, We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments. I would like to apologize for the underwhelming service that you experienced at the Grill this past visit. While the course dinners are designed to take longer than a traditional sit-down meal, there is no excuse for you having to wait several hours and feel uncared for. Rest... More
