Anniversary dinner

Pumkin bisque was ok, salad was good. We ordered the osso buco and ribeye. The osso was great with balsamic reduction was also great...the ribeye was a disappointment...it was thin and without much flavor. Compared to flemings...it would be a "C". The staff was really nice and brought an extra... read more

This hotel and bar is so pretty and unique. It was a perfect place to have drinks Christmas Eve with my husband. We weren't as pleased with the band this year as we were last year but it's better than having no music at all. I would like to go back every year during Christmas time

Lovely bar full of true Texas charm. The specialty drinks all have a Texas flare or name. Friendly waitresses. Enjoyable place to relax after work and enjoy a drink.

We made reservations for the Grill for Thanksgiving. Easily one of the best meals I have ever had. A set menu, with family style sides with your entree (turkey, beef tenderloin, red snapper OR pork), and the opportunity to have wine pairings. We feasted on butternut squash bisque, salad with pear, pork belly, the entree, and a bombe-style dessert. Excellent... More

The restaurant came highly recommended from a family member so we were looking forward to it. The service was good and our waiter was very attentive. After placing our order unfortunately we waited for a good 45 minutes maybe longer before we got our food. They were not that busy because it was later in the evening. I ordered a... More

Stopped in the bar for a cocktail late afternoon - beautiful old bar, lot of dark wood, felt like a men's club, very comfortable. The drinks were so-so, but the truffle popcorn and the beef jerky (made on-premise) were both spectacular - the popcorn alone would be worth the trip. Our waitress was great - it's the kind of place... More

We stopped in here for a quick visit and had some good cocktails, appetizers and enjoyed the live music. It is a great space!

Before visiting Austin I had heard that the Driskill was a beautiful hotel and great place to grab a drink. It was just around the corner from our hotel, so we stopped by and it was, in fact, a beautiful hotel. We asked about getting a drink, and were directed up to the oldest bar in Austin (so they said... More

The ambiance is very conservative, just as you would expect from the type of hotel it is. The service is excellent but never intrusive. And the food is extraordinary. The Amuse Bouche was a Tomato Consumme that was crystal clear and was full of serious tomato flavor. The first thing I thought of was how did they do this? Then... More
