The location is good and I like the restaurant set up---bright and colorful. I was not impressed with the food. The sourdough bun is what makes it tasty. I ordered the Travis Heights burger. The patty was pink in the center. I like my burgers well done. I did like the mix of french fries and sweet potato fries. The... More

It's difficult being a vegetarian and trying to find a burger joint that serves a veggie patty based burger. Phil's will not disappoint you. You can substitute a veggie patty for any of their burgers although if you want heaven on a bun, order the 78704 and make room on your calendar to go back to Phil's every week for... More

If you’re looking for a place in Austin to get a burger, then Phil’s Ice House should be one for you to check-out. Locally owned, they’re quite often paired with Amy’s Ice Cream in-house, so you don’t have that far to go to get dessert. This particular location has the Amy’s station up front, and there’s a sign directing you... More

Had family in from out of town and they wanted a good burger. Went to Phil's and had a great burger, as always. They have a 4 year old and the play equipment is a great plus to keep kids occupied. Service is fast and friendly. My only gripe is that the fries were not even close to being crispy.... More

We love this place! The burgers are incredible as are the fries (regular or sweet potato). The service is amazing; quick, friendly and the place is clean. Yes this place does seem to attract more families than couples or singles but that shouldn't stop one from visiting. Outside there is a big play area for the kids of just about... More

Yes, I stopped by one day for a quick lunch. No, I don't have kids. First mistake. This is most definitely a place for kids, don't let the fact that they also sell beer fool you. Myself and a handful of other diners were kid-free but that's about it. And what's not for a kid to love about this place... More

We love Phil's Ice House. My 4 year old asks for us to go there whenever we talk about Austin. The food is delicious. I love their fish sandwich and my husband loves the burgers. Their hamburger buns are out of this world. The sodas are all Maine Root, which is a nice treat. And with an Amy's Ice Cream... More

Stopped of at Phil's Ice House after church. Great food and Ice cream. We have since been there several times along with members of the congregation. It is best to try different burgers until you hit on your favorites. I like the fired onions rings. Oh bring your appetite. For thise with young ones, there is a play scape.

The burgers are not extraordinary but they are pretty good (try the '78704', yum!). This is a great place to go with your kids as they also have a fenced in play structure with tables surrounding it. You can enjoy your burger while your kids have fun. There are lots of kids so expect it to be noisy! The service... More
