Disappointed with the menu

I had been to the old location a few times & loved it! Visited the new place and although it is nice, I was very disappointed with the menu. They have a couple of "finger foods". Nothing really filling. They charge you for bar nuts too. I had the Frito pie which was good & spicy. My friends had... read more

There's so much going on at this awesome bar, attached to the Alamo Drafthouse on south lamar. They host an event every night of the week - live music, dance lessons, bingo, trivia, etc. They also have awesomely decorated karaoke rooms!

I had only been here a few times for drinks and have seen one show there. There show was quite fun, but when I returned just a few weeks ago to have a drink and dinner with friends, I was very disappointed. I arrived at 6:20 and was waiting for my friends to get out of a movie. I sat... More

Went there Friday after Thanksgiving to listen to the band at the 7 PM show. The place is basically a large dance floor with a bar on one side and very few booths on the other and in the back. The place was not crowded although with the very limited seating we were left with only seats in the back... More

We stopped in for drink while waiting for our movie at Alamo Draft House which is connected. My husband loved the extensive selection of craft beers. The bartender was also very knowledgeable when it came to picking ones he would like. Something we were excited to see were the Antonelli appetizers. We vist Antonellis cheese and meat shop often when... More

Went to the Highball for their 80s night with a couple friends. I had never been here and I really enjoyed it. Of course, it has more to do with the company than the location, but still it was a great place. I like that they are showing the music videos and not just playing the music on the sound... More

This is a letter I wrote to management regarding a party reservation last week. It describes our experience in detail. I have since received an apology from the Highball management and promise to have $100 in gift cards sent for future use, but I am still posting this as a cautionary tale: "I booked my husband's birthday party for Saturday... I will start by saying that I have been a devotee and a strong advocate of this place since a couple months after they opened. So much to love, right? The early-sixties bowling alley atmosphere was not a facade -- the Highball has a fine kitchen, REAL bartenders, good service, a sweet set of bowling lanes, an (until now) unwavering... More

One of the best bars I visited in Austin, the Highball features an awesome menu and fantastic cocktails and other bar offerings. The bartender, Gypsy, was particularly welcoming and although extremely busy, took time to get the name of each of her customers and to provide super service. This place has a whole lot goin' on, from music to themed... More

Put on your get ready for a surprise shoes, the Highball is a fun place! We went expecting the unusual, having been drawn there by a local poster for a live theatre re-enactment of South Park, the comedy cartoon show. Arriving about 6:30 PM on a weeknight, we were seated right away, but the tables soon filled up. (Happy hour... More
