We are proud to announce... Chef Tyson Cole, winner of the 2011 James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef Southwest--Thank you Uchi and Uchiko family and friends for your support! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uchiko, translated as "child of Uchi" from Japanese, is the next restaurant venture for renowned executive chef and sushi master Tyson Cole. Located in central Austin, this second location of Cole’s highly-praised Uchi presents the same excellence and energetic atmosphere of the original with some noteworthy additions. Uchiko will feature a new menu with Uchi’s same style of innovative, fresh cuisine, a main dining room that accepts reservations throughout the evening and an eat-in bar/café area.

Fantastic every time we go

We did Uchi before Uchiko, but we have been back to Uchiko 10x as many times. Free valet, hot towel as soon as you sit down, stunning presentation of food, scintillating desserts & easy environment make this one of my (if not top) favorite place to eat in Austin. Uchikos is really awesome food; however, just be aware that though you leave full and happy, your wallet will leave empty and sad. Yes, this is one of the most expensive restaurants in Austin. They cater to an elite crowd and large groups; however, a party of two will also feel comfortable and receive outstanding service. Just watch your ordering.... More

This restaurant is a tiny bit on the pricey side, the food is incredible and well worth it. Multiple small taste sensations, try the madeye.

This sushi is amazing. The dishes are very unique and very flavorful. I swear there are no more than 5 or so ingredients in each plate, but the flavor explodes!! Love it. The menu reminds me of Nobu. But the prices are way better. Still an expensive sushi restaurant but everybody that works here seems so down to earth and... More

We have traveled quite a bit and found one of the best culinary experiences in our own backyard! With each of the tapas presentation we had a new amazing experience with food. From the very beginning of our time at Uchiiko, we were treated like VIPs even though we are sorta high maintanence customers....we needed a quiet table (it does... More

My wife and I went here 2 weeks ago on a visit to Austin. The food was amazing. The restaurant is a bit loud which we didn't mind. It is also expensive but worth the price. You will probably need a reservation.

Awesome dinner! The girls loved the "hot rocks" cooking experience. Everything was so fresh and tasted wonderful. Great evening out.

Uchikos is a great experience but will test the tension on your wallet. All the dishes are "tapas" style meaning very small so you will need several to get your fill if you are a big eater. Our group of 10 had reservations at 7:30 and we were seated almost immediately after all our party arrived. The table was a... More

The tastes are amazing. We had a large group so we ordered many of the items on the menu and shared. Fantastic sushi with imaginative hot dishes. Be adventurous and you will be happy. The servings are on the small side so choose a few. Service is friendly, informative and professional.
