Adventure time!

Ate our way through some crazy stuff and had a blast! I thought I was an adventurous cook, but we ate things I would be hard pressed to remember the names of it was so out there, one dish came in a jar with some kind of infused smoke that escaped when you opened it. Heavy on the raw stuff,... read more

Sat at the sushi bar, and asked the chef (Angela) to pick 5 or 6 of her favorites for me. It was wonderful, I had some surprising wonderful dishes I would not have tried on my own choice, everything was delicious, creative, artfully prepared.

Before writing, I did check some of the other reviews.. My experience seems to be a common theme. This is a very trendy sushi / sashimi place that serves good to great food, has a ton of staff to serve and whisk dishes away, but really overcharges for it. I've taken my daughter there twice because she loves Japanese, but... More

I ate here this past Sunday night with some friends when I visited Austin. Overall, it was a great dinner. We shared a number of dishes and I really enjoyed everything. My favorite dishes were the sushi dishes. I particularly liked the P-38 roll. We also loved the tuna with goat cheese. yum. We also tried the oysters - they... More

A little bit over priced for some dishes. Overall is great. It's a very lively atmosphere, but I think I prefer a more quiet atmospheres for a Japanese restaurant. Service was a plus. Met expectations.

I'm torn on how to review Uchiko. On one hand, we had a very nice evening with some amazing sushi and sushimi dishes. On the other hand, for the prices, they needed to be amazing. some of the dishes seemed worth the premium but a few were not as amazing as they should have been. We got lucky because we... More

When I asked about a great place in Austin to take my beloved for a birthday dinner, I never expected to hear Uchi or Uchiko. We are from San Francisco and have had amazing sushi all over the world so we were skeptical. We relied upon our server to guide us and she did not disappoint. She recommended a Saki... More

We heard plenty of good things about Uchiko and it's sister restaurant Uchi that we decided we had to try one of them. First off neither my husband and I are big fans of Japanese food. That said it would have been a shame to miss this. We did not arrive at restaurant until around 9:15 on a Monday evening... More

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here in April 2015. We arrived just at opening to avoid the wait, and our waitress was incredibly attentive but not intrusive. She walked us through the menu, and helped us make some great menu choices. The food was amazing, as it should be at this price. It was the best meal... More

A group of us went and we left I to the waiter, may well have been our mistake, not sure though and we felt that the food was OK but the bill was very expensive indeed and we are a dining club who do not mind spending - so overall would we rush back - not really.
