We were fortunate to get a reservation on a quick trip to Austin . The place was packed at 6:30. Even though the menu can be hard to discern with lots of Japanese and obscure ingredients , do a little research ( ie . Brussels sprouts , Japanese bream , Hot rocks and duck )but depend on the very helpful... More

Uchiko continues to be one of my favorite spots in Austin. The setting, people, service, and food are amazing.

Delicious food but they had run out of their famous brussels sprouts which was a big bummer! Service was good but a little off when we went. Food was delicious though and I'd just trust your server with whatever you order.

I love this place - the tasting menu's always full of interesting, innovative things and pudding definitely worth leaving space for. A little noisy - but I still prefer if to Uchi

Imagine Japanese Tapas that provide a broad range of tastes. The sushi, sashimi, and rolls are varied and excellent. The 'Hot Rock' is not to be missed and the Wagyu Beef is to die for. An extensive selection of Sake and beer make for an enjoyable and entertaining meal.

Finally made it to Uchiko after 2 years of living in Austin. From the valet service to the chopsticks to the sake, this place is 5 star dining all the way. Really enjoyed the concepts and traditional blend of Japanese food. The Pork Jowl is one of the best indulgences I have enjoyed in my 24 years of existence. I... More

I went there with a friend because the food was reviewed well and the plates were priced at a mid range- however they did not mention that each plate was 2-7 small bites. The sushi was some of the best I've had in a long time. we shared 2 rolls, and I had a sea urchin ($7 for one bite)... More

Loved this restaurant! Went here for my birthday and called to make reservations. They didn't have anything until ten so we decided to drive up there and have drinks while we waited. Lucky for us they had a table of six cancel and sat us right away! The service was on point. I do not eat meat or fish so... More

What a wonderful dinner this evening! Nice atmosphere, great service - every server helped to make sure we had everything we needed and to clean our table of unnecessary items. We were seated just inside back area. As couple recommendations from our server were Brussels sprouts (yummy) and hotate (great). Also got p-38 and shag rolls, jar jar duck (amazing!!),... More

We tried the Chef's selection. Each dish was unique in flavor. The fish was fresh. The used a lot of local produce. Superb servers and service. If you like sushi, then this is a must when in Austin.
