We are proud to announce... Chef Tyson Cole, winner of the 2011 James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef Southwest--Thank you Uchi and Uchiko family and friends for your support! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uchiko, translated as "child of Uchi" from Japanese, is the next restaurant venture for renowned executive chef and sushi master Tyson Cole. Located in central Austin, this second location of Cole’s highly-praised Uchi presents the same excellence and energetic atmosphere of the original with some noteworthy additions. Uchiko will feature a new menu with Uchi’s same style of innovative, fresh cuisine, a main dining room that accepts reservations throughout the evening and an eat-in bar/café area.

Uchiko sushi are mind-blowing! Unfortunately, portions are very small and most probably you will need to eat something else after a dinner here.

Wow!!! A bit pricey, but the tast sensations are beyond belief. If you want truly great cuisine this is it. Everything was uniquely seasoned and prepared. One of my new favorites.

A must! Creative, fresh, ambience, just as good as the reviews say. Filling space for remaining 40 characters

But damn it was good. The rolls and dishes are highly imaginative. We let the waitress recommend a tasting menu and each course got better and better. They are all now a wonderful blend in my mind though a sushami on a mango salad, the duck presented in a mason jar filled with applewood smoke and a dessert of tobacco... More

We've been to Uchiko several times, and we are always amazed by the creativity and quality of the culinary artistry. The servers are polite, discreet, and extraordinarily well-informed. Started with edamame which has a unique char-grilled quality. Then brussels sprouts (twice), and I don't even like brussel sprouts! Shime saba is a great flavor combination. Sake toro was sensual and... More

We decided to go to Uchiko to get out of the craziness that was SXSW. What a great choice! This is a very cool place with a different take on Sushi. We loved our food and the staff was excellent!

We did Uchi before Uchiko, but we have been back to Uchiko 10x as many times. Free valet, hot towel as soon as you sit down, stunning presentation of food, scintillating desserts & easy environment make this one of my (if not top) favorite place to eat in Austin. As a sushi joint, the best place to sit is the... More

Uchikos is really awesome food; however, just be aware that though you leave full and happy, your wallet will leave empty and sad. Yes, this is one of the most expensive restaurants in Austin. They cater to an elite crowd and large groups; however, a party of two will also feel comfortable and receive outstanding service. Just watch your ordering.... More
