Let me start off by saying that I love barbecue. Love it. When done right, there's nothing I'd rather have. Having read the reviews (and not wanting to wait in line for 2 hours), we decided to try to show up after the lunch rush. Seeing that it was a Friday, we pushed it back until 2:00. When we arrived,... More

WOW! I never wait for food, but this was definitely worth it. The hype is real! I have no idea how they are able to infuse soo much flavor into the meat. We had the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and sausage. I would skip the sausage, it's pretty bland, but everything else is epic. The brisket is thick, tender, and... More

They should call this "The Franklin's BBQ Experience" because that's exactly what it is... an 'experience.' 1. Arrived around 8:45, on a Wednesday, and the line was in the little parking lot behind the place. Brought lounge chairs and cooler, which is an absolute necessity, based on previous reviews. Glad I did. 2. The conversations with others in line was... More

Have heard all the hype about Frankin's BBQ from friends and family in Austin. Finally made time to wait on line to try it last visit. Big mistake. Austin in June is hot which I don't mind and humid which I do. Have sat on tarmacs in Kuwait, Dubai, Baghdad, Kandahar and not been as wet. Did have some pleasant... More

Waiting is part of the Franklin BBQ experience. So you have to deal with it...and enjoy. Tips for those planning to visit (especially during the unfortunate Texas summer): 1. Come in as early as 5-6AM to be first in line and wait IN THE SHADE. Being in the shade makes a huge difference (just catch up on sleep when you're... More

The BBQ is delicious. Yes, the line is long. Suck it up. Bring some friends, drinks, chairs, and maybe even a snack. You'll be glad you waited. OR. If you don't want to wait for some delicious BBQ, just become President, and you'll get to cut the line...

The wait is long. The sun is hot. Your legs and feet are swollen and tired. But hold on...The BBQ is beyond amazing. Brisket is the thing here and it is a fatty brisket. But it is the fat, plus their dry rub makes it so special. I read some complaints online about the fat?! What?! The ribs and sausage... More

My wife and I are big BBQ fans. We travel around Texas for good BBQ and we also do a bit of smoking ourselves. We read the reviews about Franklin BBQ and decided to make the trip. We sat in line for 3.5 hours and finally ordered brisket and sausage. We hD asked for lean brisket but the brisket we... More

This is real Texas barbecue: they apply a thick dry rub to the meat, leaving on all the fat, and then cook the hell out of it. That is what real Texas barbecue is. Stood in line 2 hours with a complaining child, with repeated warnings from the staff that we waited at our own risk -- the food might... More
