Doing the right thing??

My mother's ashes are being interned in Laredo,TX. I am planning to be there but my dilemma is: if I fly I will not be able to get my brisket, if I drive its 3400miles roundtrip. I know that my Momma will be proud of me for celebrating her journey by going top shelf!! Not only will I eat at... read more

So this place has been on a fast rise of notoriety in the BBQ world and when I had the opportunity to try this famous BBQ joint. I was not disappointed. Everything on the menu was great but my absolute favorite and the menu item with the most hype and for really good reason is the Central Texas Brisket. Also... More

While i'm no BBQ expert, I do take my BBQ seriously. Decided to finally make the pilgrimage from Dallas to Franklin on a free day off (unfortunately it wasn't around when I was in Austin for college). Was #13 in line after getting there on a Thursday at approx 7:30. Fast forward 4 hours and was able to finally sit... More

This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to eat the best BBQ I have ever had! I know that's a strong statement but it was truly a wonderful plate. We arrived at 10:00 and were told we would be in by 2:00. Undaunted, we set on line with our new line friend Brent who was gracious enough to bring a... More

Franklin Barbeque recently received a James Beard award for its excellent food. Tried the brisket ( both lean and moist) as takeout. Check the Franklin BBQ website for quirky hours, days open, menu and how to order. Note that there are long lines and they only serve customers until they sell out of this popular BBQ.

This a must-do experience. I was expecting world class brisket and they delivered. We waited 4.5 hours in line in the heat. The staff was very informative and made frequent visits to sell you water (& beer) , let you know how long they estimated the wait and took peoples orders in advance so they can let you know what... Best brisket (marbled only please) I've ever had, texture was unbelievable. The waiting in line is a fun communal experience and the time goes by faster than you think. There's a big covered area with fans which makes the long wait reasonable even during the heat of summer. Staff are super and the co-owners there practically every day.

We arrived on 5/23 at 8:44. I had no idea it was graduation weekend so was not expecting to be at the far end of the line so early. I was celebrating my birthday so my husband convinced me to go ahead and wait it out, I brought a lawn chair, a beach blanket, an umbrella, and a few snacks.... More

Franklin BBQ more than lived up to the hype. We made quite a BBQ trek through Texas and Oklahoma on our trip, and this hands down to the prize! You will hear about the legendary line, but that line is not your only option. You can preorder a month in advance by email on the first Monday of the month... More

Personally, I would never stand in a long line for ANY food, but if you can get your high schooler or "runner" for your business, this is worth it. Obviously, they aren't about having a nice place for patrons to sit down and enjoy their great food, so it MUST be worth the wait. Order every single thing that entices... More
