I was fully prepared to be typing that the 'cue is really good but not worth the hype and the wait. However, I cannot in conscience say that. We waited in line for 3 1/2 hours before the food was in our hands, and IT WAS WORTH IT. Here's what first-timers need to know to make the waiting tolerable: 1.... More

This BBQ is Good. No 2-ways about it. But you can get truly great BBQ 'round these parts without waiting in line forever. I know, it's part of the cache of the place, and it is good, but not that good. Many people LOVE their sauce, too, because it's coffee-based & definitely tastes like coffee. But I don't like coffee... More

We got to Franklin at 845am to wait in the infamous line. We were probably like 40 in line already! We were situated next to a local and a fellow tourist. It was an amazing friendly group and really fun in line. The atmoshpere of waiting in line was 100% apart of why this meal was excellent. From the line... More

For three days myself and my boyfriend discussed whether we should attempt to even go, is it really THAT good to stand in line all morning, and will we just end up disappointed. Well we pulled up around 845am and he hopped out and joined the line of fifty people or so. By the time I got back with Starbucks... More

Waited 3 hours in the Texas sun and it was worth it. Had a beef rib, pork rib, wet and dry brisquet. Succulent, kissed with smoke and perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. Drooling again just remembering. Served with white bread on butcher paper. Don't go if you can't your foods touchin each other. Stood in line with BBQ acolytes... More

Visiting from Illinois and my son told stories of the greatness of this place. Unbelievable. All was true. Chicago ribs, St. Louis ribs, don't even come close. Brisket beyond amazing. Sausage mighty good also, along with the pork loin. But, the slaw could use some work. Can't wait to visit again!

The best BBQ in Austin, hands down. We arrived at 14.00 and there was a "sold out" sign hanging at the door. Because some locals told us that didn't mean there wasn't any food left, we entered and after waiting in line for something like 10 minutes, we were still able to place an order. Not everyrhing was there anymore,... More

If someone were to tell me that I would sit and wait 3 hours on a Tuesday morning for a restaurant to open and were #35 in line, I would tell them that they were nuts. I don't wait to pay for anything since Super Mario Brothers came out in the 70's. Well wait I did, because Aaron Franklin opened... More

I went on a Sunday with my son and his wife. I happened to have two lawn chairs in my car. So me and my daughter n law waited in line while my son went to HEB and bought one more chair. There was a man on the corner renting lawn chairs for $5 each. We got there at 10:30... More
