Lived up to the hype

We went on a Saturday and were prepared to face the line. We had been reading to get there around 8:30. Well we got there at 8 and the line was already down to the corner. The staff comes out to take expected order sizes so they can determine where the line may need to get cut off and to... read more

Excellent food but there is sometimes a 4 hr wait to get to the front of the line...the brisket is the best, if you go when its raining or any kind of bad weather is much less wait time...

We got here at 9:30am on an overcast Friday in April. My boyfriend said "no way is it going to be busy," and I said "dude, listen to me, because I research this." And not only did I get to be right, but the line was already 100 deep. Around 10:30am, this nice guy who looked a little like Horatio... More

Franklins BBQ is moist and tender, the seasoning is good and the brisket (and sausage and chop) is amazing. The wait is huge. People at the front of the line were there at 6am, from what I'd been told. I arrived at 10am and didn't see the inside of the store until about 145 and from there didn't actually pick... More

Ok, I will tell you I was curious as what the hype was about waiting 3-4hrs in line to eat was about. Arrive 9:30am, ~60th person in line, another 60 or so came after us. Made it order counter 12:45pm. This bbq I must say was very tasty. The hype is the line, it's what attracts people the most. However... More

My sister asked me to get some Franklin BBQ to bring back to California so I bit the bullet and waited for 3 hours and 15 minutes. Good meat: extremely tender, a bit too salty, not so smoky. But their setup made me wonder if they themselves are creating the long lines, likely to generate buzz and business. Once you... More

Brought friends from Michigan here who are BBQ fanatics. They said it is the best BBQ brisket they ever had. I have to agree. Not to mention the sausage and ribs, also the Best. Sides were also were excellent. The Pecan pie was more of a pastry however it is still very good. We got there at 9 am and... More

The BBQ is definitely worth the wait! Get there early with your chairs and cooler and pass time by meeting your stand-in-line neighbors. The wait is worth the best brisket and ribs you will ever have. Not an over rated restaurant, but a hole in the wall that has made a name for itself in its glory. The brisket and... More

The best BBQ I've ever had! I was super skeptical of the hype but it is absolutely worth the wait! For out-of-towners like us (from Los Angeles) wanting to experience Franklin's for the first time, here was our game plan: Woke up at 6:30am got there at 7:02am and were already 6th in line. That means being perched on the... More

Waiting for brisket at Franklins seems excessive, but is really about the entire experience. There is a real friendly vibe in line and servers come out from the restaurant to take drink orders. Many bring chairs, music and drinks for the festival atmosphere. The brisket is the best ever too! Great bark and really moist meat with a perfect amount... More
