We got into the 8 deep queue at 7am. Was expecting it to be a hard queue but was easy. Had a book and the fact they provide misters etc makes it easy. Had some beers too. The food was fantastic, Aaron Franklin spoke to us in the queue and as we were eating and is a really cool. No... More

We visited Austin and this was by far our favorite restaurant. We can't more highly recommend it. Especially if you are BBQ fans!

Titles of other Reviews, "Surpasses the Hype", "Hands Down the Best BBQ", "Worth The Wait"...I cannot add any more, it's all true. You have to stand on line to get the whole experience, talking ....BBQ with line buddies, sharing food experiences, restaurants, drinking beer at 9:00am, where do you live..yada yada, yada....it's all part of it. I will never forget!

I've lived in Austin for many years, trying BBQ and brisket at many different places. It never clicked until I went to Franklins. We got there at 8:30 AM, which was early enough to be under the roof(important in the Texas heat) and the drinks they passed out to the line helped as well. The brisket I had was unlike... More

There have been many great reviews on Franklins BBQ so this will be short and to the point. This is the best BBQ I have ever had. Don't let the wait scare you away this is the real deal. The brisket is awesome and the ribs just fall off the bone. The staff is friendly and service is great. If... More

Because we've been told there is a wait and you must arrive early, we showed up at 8:30 am to get in line. After locating a place to park along the side of the restaurant, we unloaded our collapsible chairs and hauled our coffee/breakfast tacos to the line. Although Franklin's doesn't open its doors until 11 am, we were 60th... More

The first time I tried to get in here, there were more than 200 people in line at 9:30 am. I didn't stay. Yesterday, I passed by and noticed almost no line at 12:30, so I parked and got on line. In a few minutes, an employee came out to offer to sell me beer for $3 (with koozies an... More

We were visiting Austin, and knowing how much we love BBQ, my sister placed an order for carry out about 3 months ago. We were flabbergasted to see people had been waiting in line since 6 AM for a 11 AM opening. Since we had placed the order months ago we went to the head of the line. Three pound... More

There is little I could say that would add to hype about this place. The brisket is over-the-top wonderful, the ribs are excellent, the pulled pork is very good and the sausage is OK, too. (We didn’t try the turkey). The side dishes include some wonderful, smoky baked beans that are definitely worth ordering and even taking home; very good but... More

We visit this BBQ restaurant about 6 times per year. The brisket, pork ribs, sausage and chicken are consistently good and of high quality. The sides are also good and the service is always helpful and friendly. The creamed corn is especially good. We often order food to take out, but have also dined on site in their roomy and... More
