My husband and I arrived when they were nearly Sold Out, but we were lucky enough to try the last of the brisket. It was tender and "finger licking" good. The chopped beef was the best I ever tasted and my husband loved the links. Sides were good. The staff was amazing. They took time out to come to our... More

Brisket, low brow food, I've eaten it before. Here, it's yummy, fatty, juicy, and delicious. If that's not your thing, and you don't have 3 hours to kill in Austin in line, starting around 9-930am, don't bother. Me, some things you have to try. If you want tender, juices meat with an eighth inches of caked on, crusted on smokey... More

We've heard so much about this place and decided to finally give it a try. We arrived about 8:40 am on a Tuesday morning, thinking that we were going to be one of the first ones in line, but there were already about 60 people in front of us! Some clever people brought lawn chairs and coolers full of beer,... More

We've tried about half of Texas Monthly's top 50 and still believe that Franklin's is the best. So we drive for 6 hours and stand in line for 4. But it's not just for the world's best brisket. The whole experience is a social event where we meet friendly neighbors in lawn chairs and share drinks and stories. We also... More

We've heard forever that we needed to eat here. The BBQ is excellent: the meat falls apart when you look at it. This was a cloudy day, Sunday, & only a 3 hour wait! I bought brisket to go, the Tipsy Texan sandwich(heart attack style), t shirts, & great pies! Drinks plus beer are offered after 12(huge plus). Bring something... More

When I finally made it to the register to order my food, I was exhausted and hungry after waiting 5 hours in line. Was it worth the wait? That depends...to those who are thinking of heading to Franklin BBQ, prepare to arrive Extremely early or else pack a cooler and some lawn chairs for the wait outside. The staff here... More

Visiting Texas from Canada. Franklin Barbecue has been on my list for a while. Got there 7:30AM on a Wednesday. 5th in line. The wait was long, but the experience was fun. Everybody with lawn chairs, coolers, good books. The food was amazing! The brisket moist and tender with a great smoke ring. Ribs tender and easily separated from bone... More

Long lines, get there very early. Door opens at 10:59. Worth ever minute in line. Brisket is amazing to taste and melts in your mouth, ribs are to die for. Nothing compares. I know now why they are number 1.

Got there about 9 am with lawn chairs and cold water to settle in for the 11am opening time. We were number 70 & 71 in line. We did not get to the counter to order our food until 12:30. We bought the brisket sandwitch with some sides. The sandwitch alone is $8.00. Hige pile of meat, we ordered half... More
