Very long line but great BBQ. The ribs and fatty brisket were really good. Staff was very friendly and so were other guests in line!
The BBQ was so good and the staff was so friendly and nice. They went out of their way to make this visit special. Even though they were sold out, we were able to get sandwiches. They were amazing. Next time, we know to get there early. Definitely want to taste the brisket.
It's small and you'll queue to get food but it'll be worth the wait. Their plan is cook one batch and stay open until they sell out -usually around 2/3pm. Our queue last Tuesday was quite small in comparison to the photos I've seen on trip advisor but then we didn't turn up until 1330hrs; when we got served around... More
Three of us set off on the journey of having Franklin Barbecue this morning (a Saturday). We got in line at 8 am. The "tailgating" is part of the experience. All around are people with mimosas, beer, playing cards, and talking to one another. The time actually goes surprisingly fast. You have access to Franklin's restroom, and employees come around... We arrived at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning. We were number 27.while waiting we met a couple from Australia and Chicago and we all was here for the Wait. When it opened the line went fairly smooth. Well the Bbq was GOOD. Believe it or not I enjoyed the Wait before the GOOD meal.I had the Tipsy Texan and my... More
Stopped by on the way to an engagement. The line was already around the corner well before try opened. The brisket was tender and delicious. I would go again, but plan ahead a bit better next time given the circumstances.
Franklin's is a unique dining experience. The place is very small, so you must get in line around 9am, stand there and smell the wood smoke lingering in the air. Once you reach the front of the line, you pray that they have not run out. There motto is that they are open until IT IS SOLD OUT, and I... More
We stood in line for 3 hours BEFORE the place even opened, and it was worth every second. The flavors are so good it should have its own category, or else other restaurants should be banned from calling their food BBQ !!
The food is very delicious and well worth the wait, the meat is moist and unlike any other place around. The staff really recognizes and respects the sacrifice of time you make in order to be there and treats you with a great sense of hospitality. The wait in line is a part of the experience and is great as... More
I went to Austin for the ACL 13 and we've heard from Franklin's and the long line you have to make. It's totally true. And yes, it is totally true it is DELICIOUS. We arrive at 10:00pm and start eating at 2:00pm, by that time there were no ribs left. During the line, the friendly staff offered us cold drinks... More
