Came to Austin for my daughter wedding. The food was amazing. Service was excellent. My husband and I said we may have to leave Chicago and move to Austin just so that we could eat there.

We ate here our first night in Austin. Our son wanted a steak and the prices at some of the restaurants suggested by our hotel were ridiculous for steaks. It was a Sunday night at 730 and we were surprised how crowded it was. We waited about 15 minutes. Wait staff very friendly. Atmosphere nice. Food very good. I had... More

First time in Texas and this was a great start! We sat overlooking the creek and the ambiance was great. Food was exceptional - chicken fried chicken was unique and the gravy our if this world ! Hubby had Mac and cheese and again great twist on a classic - great service and great experience !

We were excited to try this place because of the good reviews and reputation. Disappointed would be an understatement. The parking lot is extremely crowded and we were greeted by an unfriendly/mildly-annoyed hostess upon entering the building. Our waitress forgot to bring the drinks we ordered ( after multiple reminders) and the special requests for our food were ignored. The... More

I love eating here whenever we're in town, and it continues to shine. Excellent bar makes waiting pleasant which is good as it can be crowded. Excellent food served in a friendly setting with great service. what else do you need? Oh yeah, value. It's "pricier" by Austin standards, but in the real world, it's cheap and a great value.

Dined on a Saturday evening with friends from Austin. The bar and table service were impeccable. We ordered the Steak Oscar and Chicken Fried Pork Chops. Everything was served as ordered. The wait was about 40 minutes, which is not bad at all for a Sat night in busy Austin. With free valet service, an easy parking option was just... More

Jack Allen's Kitchen Sometimes when you're traveling alone, dining solo can be an issue. Especially on a busy Friday night. I found Jack Allen's Kitchen to be the exception to this rule. From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel welcome. While I was offered a variety of tables, I opted for a bar seat, so I... More

While it may be a little out of the way for most, it is worth the trip. From the appetizers to the desserts, the menu has fun and creative options for all.

We love their Sunday Brunch! I wish we could get it more often and that it lasted longer in the day. The food items vary slightly each time, but always retain their wonderful flavors and freshness. The bar is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the ambiance and character of the servers and the establishment. We have to be... More

How could this restaurant not be number one?! I crave the food and the sage pomegrante margarita all the time! I have to drive over an hour to eat here. Every single time the waiter is absolutely wonderful! Love the patio! The pork belly sliders with green tomato are wonderful as well as the rainbow trout! Oh my gosh!
