When we went there we sat outside. It was very nice. Always casual but very nice. The steak is delicious. We enjoyed our meal, and will be taking family there soon.

We were staying in downtown Austin, but made the drive out to Jack Allen's for one of the best meals of our trip. This place is very popular (packed on a Tuesday night) so definitely make a reservation. Everything we ordered was outstanding, and we loved the Texas/Western decor.

Jack's was recommended by the hotel I was at, and it was worth the trip. The fried chicken was great, they had local hard cider, and the green beans were crisp, as were the carrot slivers. Prices are reasonable; excellent value received. Very glad I ate here.

Try and make a reservation so you aren't standing in line when you get there. Opens at 10 am on a Sunday for the best brunch in town. Try the tomato pie, will change your life!

Accidentally dropped in and we were so delighted! Gorgeous place, sat outside on the heated patio. I ordered the Red Ruby Trout salad, my husband had the Fat Jack burger and they were both delicious!!!!! Our server was very friendly, Sean, thank you. You must stop in and try it out. Also, kid friendly our 6 year old enjoyed her... More

Friends introduced us to this fantastic restaurant when we were visiting Austin for the USA F1 GP. Our friends recommended the bacon wrapped Texas Quail. what a surprise, full of flavour with a tangy sauce and micro salad, I could have eaten a dozen. followed this with medallions of pork stuffed with chorizo, fabulous. Good service and great atmosphere, just... More

It's always fun to find a quality restaurant where you may not expect to find one - like Oak Hill. I've been to Jack Allen's Kitchen a few times, mostly for lunch or mid-afternoon. Recently we went with friends for dinner. We didn't have reservations, so there was a wait, but well worth it. The girls sat at the bar... More

We are so glad that we found this resturant on our last Austin visit. Excellent food--- the green chile burger was perfect--- a blend of spices and favors --- WOW! And the crispy fried catfish is beyond great! The sauce is hard to describe, but is a perfect blend of flavors, and is great on just about anything! The service... More
