A business associate and I visited Jack Allen's Kitchen in May, 2012. We had a customer visit at a semicoductor manufacturer, not far away. It was personnel at this facility who recommended Jack Allen's to us. Being from Atlanta, I loved the food selelction and atmosphere. I had the chicken fired chicken then and tried it again, July 2, 2014.... More

All around just a great restaurant! Dined outside on the covered patio as it rained! Fried Green Tomato Sliders are a must! Great Happy Hour for Apps & Drinks! A great value as well!

The food at service at this place were both great. There was a slight mix up in getting our table and we ended up not having to wait. I had the chicken fried new york strip and it was very tasty. I would absolutely go back.

We've been here twice with family and enjoyed both times. We've had to wait both times for a table, even in a non-peak time, and once had to wait a good 20-30 mins for the food. The food was unique and delicious though so we will return!

I had the chicken fried NY Strip steak...holy cow, mouth watering delicious. also had the "Quatro Leches" cake...hands down the best i have ever had on both fronts. My wife had the mac and cheese with chicken, i asked her how it was and she commented "it's mac and cheese." she was obviously not blown away, i tasted it and... More

We've eaten here a couple times and love it. The fool is southern, fun and inventive. All meals start with pimento cheese with unique crackers, typically we eat so many starters we don't even need a meal. Drinks are excellent too, including the pomegranate margarita, if you don't want a traditional one. Atmosphere is great, we love sitting in the... More

We are always looking for a new place to dine when we come to Austin. Being the Trip Advisor followers we have become, we read about The Kitchen, and decided to give it a try. We were go glad that we did! We were seated quickly, lots of choices, and our choices came frequently during the meal. The service was... More

Some of the best fish tacos ever, but my husband got the chicken fried steak and it was a bad piece of meat...... Lots of gristle and fat. The manager came by and apologized and confirmed that they hand cut their meat, but he had gotten a bad piece. They fixed him something else, but comping his meal would have... More

Great ambiance for our last night in Austin. Fun waitstaff , great choice of beers. I enjoyed the scallop special. Quail appetizer was delicious. Campy presentation of the chips and salsa.

Had a great lunch with two business colleagues while in Austin, between customer meeting sites by the "Y." I had the Chicken fried steak - it was great with the NY strip steak battered and fried. Others had chef's salad and fish special. Everyone enjoyed.
