Very pleasant modern restaurant with tasty new dishes. They offer many gluten free dishes, vegetarian options as well as traditional fare. Loved the queso with shrimp and crab. They were open Sunday night though not busy. Good downtown location near the theater.

This could have been 10x better with very little effort. Food was just OK for surrounding options. Meaning Aistin has soooo many options the bar is pretty high. I was told to come here for the signature oyster taco but had too much Tex Mex in 3 days to go there. I I ordered the coffee rub lamb chop, which... More

Garridos has so much going for it....helmed by a star chef (at least by Austin lights, a serious foodie town), a very well thought out menu, a terrific location...so I truly can't figure out why the experience is less than the sum of its parts. We dined there on a Saturday night, with an early reservation, so the place was... More

The setting was perfecy, the back patio ideal for gatherings. Large fans, misters and the abundance of plants made this outdoor experience almost tropical. OK, the weather turned out perfect. Service was attentive, dinner took little too long but at that time we had been served several pitchers of Rita and that always eases the pain. I asked 3 times... More

I live downtown, so can't believe we had never been to this restaurant. We went on Saturday for lunch and both had snapper tacos. They were outstanding! We sat outside, and it was actually quite nice for Austin in August. The patio is right next to a lovely green area, which almost has a tropical feel. Highly recommend!!

Upon entering the door we were warmly greeted by the manager. He seated us promptly and thanked us for visiting. The server arrived a few minutes later and took our drink order. He returned quickly to ask for the order. It was a slow night, I counted three tables inside and five on the patio. Our meal came in a... More

It's no wonder the locals are all here! Great food, great dishes and the price is decent. Check it out.

Went back to Garrido's on Saturday evening. Had a reservation and glad of it as the place was mobbed at 8pm. Got seated quickly so the reservation system worked. The menu has completely changed since I was last here. It morphed from a "small plates" menu to a typical menu with appetizers and entrees. What got me was the pricing... More
