Fun take on hot dogs

What a fun and tasty place. These are gourmet hot dogs. All ingredients are organic, grass fed...blah blah. And they are just wonderful to eat. Our last visit was Sunday brunch. No hot dogs are served at brunch. However, the Spam Madame dish is just incredible. One of the best brunch... read more

I am usually the one who picks where we go to dinner since I don't eat meat and need to check menus out in advance. I did a little research prior to our trip to Austin, Texas and Frank had something for everyone; omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. We went on a Saturday for a late lunch. I had the Chicago... More

Popped into this place last weekend while I was walking around downtown Austin. I was so hungry around dinner and saw this place offered hot dogs and beer..my kind of place. Just sat at the bar while I waited for the friend- staff was very nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. Although I only ordered beer, the cocktails looked amazing. My hot... More

Yeah...it's a hot dog spot....are they interesting, yes, but I didn't find either of the dogs I tried to be as good as the reviews led me to believe they would be....tried the Notorious PIG...it was okay...but nothing special...second trip was a Chicago...again...nothing spectacular about either one.... Was told I had to try a red headed stranger...the presentation was nice...but... More

Food and staff were excellent! Gourmet hot dogs were delicious! Staff took care of us and our son. We were a little concerned since it looked more like a bar but they made great recommendations for our son and swooned over him :) Will definitely be back when we're in Austin!

Wow! We were only in Austin for four days and there's 2,132 restaurants, many great ones, but we had to go back to Frank's twice. What amazing food. We had the Reuben Fries which is basically comprised of Corned Been, Sauerkraut, melted cheese, and thousand island dressing poured on top of a bed of great cottage fries. In sure one... More

Great service and drinks. The chili cheese waffle fries were a disappointment...very little cheese and I've had better chili out of a can, which should never occur in Texas. She had the Texalina and I had the Chicago dog, both were solid offerings. Not bad, just expected better. There are a huge number of great eating places in Austin, it... More

Terrific takes on making different combination flavors! 2 thumbs up to these chefs! It took me a long time pondering their marvelous menu, but I finally decided on the Creole Gator hot dog (a custom smoked alligator sausage which is topped with Tony Chachere's popcorn crawfish, Crystal slaw, scallions and Creole remoulade on a Frank Bun). I added their waffle... More

If you're looking for something a little different for lunch, then Frank is not a bad choice. Known as "purveyor of artisan sausages," Frank definitely lives up to its billing. You can get sausage made from all manner of critters. My son had sausage made from kangaroo, while I opted for gator. Neither was particularly filling, but the experience was... More
