Good food and drinks. We got oysters on the half shell, fried calamari and the ceviche. All of these were delicious. Loved the outside patio.

I have been to Perla's twice recently and it was GREAT both times. The first time friends and I sat outside and ate, drank, and visited. KateLynn and Zachary, who I named

Perla's oysters are exceptional. That said, you are also paying for the privilege of being seen. Hipness comes at a cost. Does the food match the price? Yes, if you choose wisely.

Stopped in for lunch and was knocked out by fantastic, super-fresh east coast oysters. It was like they were plucked that morning. I'm not a big east coast traveler, but this must be as good as it gets. If you're not sure about the menu, probe the wait-staff... "Which is your favorite?" They won't let you down. If they pick... Great selection of oysters. Went there twice first time sat at the bar had a dozen mixed variety oysters which were fresh and delicious. Two glasses of local wine, two local beers, ceviche and pop tarts to the tune of $110 not including tip. Went there a second time sat outside, unfortunately it was on a Sunday, lunch was over... We went on Saturday evening expecting a more upscale place. Very loud and more casual than expected. The service was good, the oyster choices were great and the selection we made was good. The cocktails were very good. The fried calamari was also very good, with a few fried veggies mixed in, and the crab Louie was different and interesting.

My first visit to Austin and I was looking forward to the Tex-mex and bar-b-que. And I founs plenty of good spots that satisfied those tastes. But a large group outing settied on seafood (!). The place was very nice and upscale, but comfotable enough for jeans. To keep it real, I ordered the only local fish, a crispy Texas... More

Food was terrific and well cooked. If you are a Chardonnay drinker, this might not be the place to go. Each glass of the buttery, oaky option was $18. The lesser option was just a little less. Kind of ruined the night for me. They really need some other moderate choices.

We had the misfortune of going to Perla's after the crawfish and shrimp festival. 8pm reservation (festival was over at 4pm). They were out of seabass, and 2 other items at 8:30 when we were finally got around to ordering. I got the last halibut. Its almost always a bad idea to take the last of anything. When my $38... This place has a great outdoor seating area under big shade trees! They have couches to sit and just enjoy a drink outside! It was so beautiful when we were there...this was the place to go! Drinks were excellent!! I had the champagne cocktail and it didn't disappoint! We saw food being delivered and it looked delicious. The menu options... More
