Great Seafood, Make reservations on weekends.

This place can get crowded on weekends. It something is going on in Austin you will not get in without a reservation. I had the yellow fin rare...perfect. My wife had one of the specials, some blackened fish, I can't remember. We had 1/2 dozen raw oysters. Great selection of oysters from East... read more

I'm an oyster fan that is always on the lookout for some fresh oysters that I haven't tried. All of the oysters listed were new to me: Pleasant Bay, MA, Copps, Ct, and Buckley, BC were three types I hadn't tried. The quality of the oysters were very clear and perfectly tasting. We sat outside on the massive patio and... More

Terrific location on South Congress. Wood grilled oysters, raw oysters, and many great seafood options. Wonderful Crab Louie, beef tenderloin--lots of options if you're not into seafood. Definitely worth a visit.

What a perfect place. Lovely outside patio with great service who really know their stuff. Had the grilled Octopus and then the Lobster.

Stopped by during a beautiful cool night which had a lot to do with the experience. Got a place in a screened-in area of the patio which is great for romantic dinners, for the candlelight creates a special atmosphere. But it also made it hard to read the menu. Their version of a Mexican Green Pozole was excellent. The burgers... More

Went to eat here three times. Can't get passed ordering the bouillabaisse! Ooooooh so good! The broth is extremely flavorful and spicy. I had oysters on the half shell (GREAT selection). My faves were the PEI oysters. Yum! Drool! I can only give four stars because service, although always pleasant, was a little hit and miss. First time I went... More

Previously we've had a good dining experience at Perla's. But this time it was a disaster. Enjoying the 80 degree weather we decided to have an early dinner, but things went wrong right from the beginning. The waiter tried to be suave by taking our order without writing it down. But only one place setting was brought, not two. We... More

A little loud, but the food is excellent. Large enough restaurant that you won't necessarily need a reservation. A little overpriced, but worth the extra $$ for the food, location and service.

I really expected a lot more of this restaurant. Perla's is located at a perfect place with a very appealing design and atmosphere, however the food is totally overpriced. The portions are small, and beside the oysters the dishes aren't special or unique for the price. Service is also pretty poor, perhaps it was too busy that our waiter barely... More

The service was terrible, waiter never brought us refills on water (the table next to us just left after not being waited on), and the food was just so-so. Do not recommend.
