Not impressive

To be fair, I think this place is known for it's omelets and we did not order omelets. Overall, we were disappointed. Their chicken fried steak is pre-fab and their waffles are frozen and just heated up. I really wonder if they make much of anything in house. I will say, the bread and biscuits... read more

So when our business group walked in after reading the reviews, we wondered if we should leave. The inside looks like an old Dairy Queen from the 60s. Huge fish tank that is dark, and plain metal chairs. We have tried many breakfast places in Arlington including, the downstairs at the Courtyard (awful and terribly slow and Mimi's which is... More

Wow, reading all the good reviews here you'd think there was something really special about the food given the atmosphere. Here’s my experience: In the first 10 seconds after you walk in the air was damp, like the place was running on a swamp cooler. You could smell the carpet. There is a huge ~300-500 gallon dirty fish tank with... More

I had read other reviews and expected more. Not sure what all the fuss is about. Prices are good and quantities are generous but food is not fantastic. The food was just basic breakfast food. Any kind of omelet you could ever think of and the people in my group who had the biscuits said they were good, but not "the... More

The biscuits here are to die for! Only bad thing is that they run out sometimes on the weekends. So make sure you show up before the rush if you want some!

Found this place online and wanted to try. The food was great. The biscuit were soft and warm. Pancakes were big and fluffy. This place looks just like one of those old diners you see on tv. It needs a bit of updating and could use a little bit of cleaning.

The line was out the door on a Sunday morning around 11am. Most of the people waiting were "regulars". They promised that it was worth the wait, and they were right. Yummy.

I've been to Rise and Shine several times because of the food. They do have a great variety of breakfast options, from healthy (oatmeal) to heart attack on a platter (chicken fried steak and eggs) ; the latter being a favorite of mine. They'll make any kind of omelette you want, as long as they have the ingredients available and... More
