Best BBQ

My family has been to Rudy's numerous times even though it took me literally years to get around to trying it. Once we did, we were hooked. Our first taste came when we were at a wedding they catered and it was delicious. After that we usually went at least once a week, even when that meant driving... read more

I've been to different Rudy's about 3-4 times and although good, never as good to me as the reviews. I don't care for their sauce and the way they chop their meat makes no sense to me (medium sized cubes). My friend made several comments that he wasn't impressed also.

First time at Rudy's and the host grabbed us samples of three different meats so we could taste them before we ordered. The most tender BBQ in TX. I had turkey and it was literally to die for...best flavor I have ever had. Will definitely eat here when I'm back in TX!!

This is the first Rudy's we come to on our way to CA from ATL for the holidays. It is always a toss up between here and IN-N-OUT and Rudys always wins as we can get INO in CA and not Rudy's. We do not order sandwiches rather a 1/2 of lean brisket, 1/2 pt of slaw and drinks -... More

Food was good ol BBQ.... you have to purchase meats by the pound. Price are about the same as any other BBQ joint. Its good if want a late night BBQ. I didn't care for the baby back ribs though they had a black pepper rub on them and they were too dry. Staff was very friendly ...

Yes two people can eat for under twenty five dollars. The serving trays are different to say the least. The staff are friendly and helpful when you just can't seam to make up your mind. Oh yes the free sample of two different meats. I will say keep it up they were the biggest samples I have ever received. You... More

My friends took me to Rudy's while my short first visit to Houston. When they drived into the gas station I thought we were heading to a traditional convenience store. I was so wrong! It is a country style restaurant with picnic tables and inside/"outside" areas, very clean and it welcomes you with a bar and cool boxes full of... More

Visited there a few days ago with my sister having heard about from friends. It looked fun when we walked in, casual and homey even if a little self-consciously so. An employee saw us standing back trying to figure out what we were doing and how to go about it and came to the rescue. He gave a complete orientation... More

The server was nice. The food is average. I went to the San Antonio location a LONG time ago and remember not being particularly impressed but figured I'd give it a try. I feel that I know good BBQ. I can say that even 'gasp' Famous Daves is better. I have definitely had better in KC and even the Polar... More

While you pull into a gas station, just kidding, the old world bbq is a blast from the past. The servers are well versed in their food and proudly serve it as if was made by their mom. Food on paper and open seating is the start to a great experience. Hard to be unhappy when the only people you... More
