Menu changes based on when you visit but the food definitely has soul to it. Great cajun options and generous portion sizes. Makes a great quick eat and to go meal in the area.

I visited here on a Tuesday and had read reviews and couldn't wait to try it. I like to support small locally run places. The place is small and locally run and has a hometown hole in the wall vibe to it that I liked. You go through a line and order what you want and get it and pay... More

Cant say anything negative about this place, we absolutely loved it. We came across it by accident whilst staying in a nearby hotel. Great food and a great price. If we were ever in the area again we would make this our first stop.

We visited on Wednesday when they had fried catfish and seafood étouffée. It was great! It's a small place, but the people are super friendly. We really felt welcomed. The catfish was really good and the macaroni and cheese was some of the best ever! We also had pound cake which was really good!

There were two of us. We tried the smothered pork chop, the seafood étouffée and fried catfish. The gravy on the pork chop was a light gravy, with a hint of kick to it. Meat was very tender. The fried catfish was expertly prepared. Crunchy on the outside, tender flaky on the inside. We finished it off with some peach... More

PROS: 1. Favorite of locals. GM plant is across the street. 2. Very good, traditional, southern home cooking. 3. Food is inexpensive – quantities large – good value for the money. CONS: 1. In a mini strip center, off the beaten track – sort of a hole-in-the-wall. 2. No atmosphere inside. Similar to a budget pizza place. 3. Very limited... More

I went in ready for gumbo... then found out they only do gumbo on Tuesdays and Thursdays. How about a po'boy? No, we only do po'boys on Saturday. They do have great red beans, but chicken is average. Didn't notice any excitement in anyone behind the counter... Not sure they wanted to be there either.

This is down home cooking cajun style. Three of us dined. Two had the chicken fried steak and I had the seafood gumbo. The seafood gumbo had a kick to it and it was loaded with shrimp, crayfish and crab, served with rice and a cornbread muffin. My two partners could not finish their chicken it was so large. The...
