The wait staff is slow, disorganized and the food is lacking. We could not get our server to get our order right, we could not get our tea refilled, but our ticket was quick. The food lacked flavor and was disappointing. We have tried them a few times with the same result each time.

My husband and I had an early dinner there this week. We had been here for breakfast and it was okay but dinner was the worst of the worst. I had fried oysters that were so chewy that I had to spit them out. The salad was just iceberg lettuce. My husband had the grilled chicken special which he said... More

We visit Bakery Cafe on a regular basis. Favorites are the chicken fried steak and the fried catfish dinner. Be sure and tell them you want rolls with your meal. They are homemade and delicious. Their pies are very good, too. Only thing negative I have to say it, it would be nice if they served the bread with REAL... More

Went to the Bakery because we love small local restaurants. Took a quick look at the food coming out and decided to just have coffee and pie! Pie was straight from a factory. Waitress was so busy chatting with coworkers, it took quite awhile to get the pie. This is the kind of place that keeps the super big chain... More

This is a seat yourself cafe with more seating on the other side of the wall from the main entrance. This is a plain cafe, no ambience, just large portions of decent food. Our server was overly busy when we got there however was very attentive. The fried catfish was huge, the broccoli and cauliflower side was just okay as... More

The food is good, not great but good. The wait staff is hit and miss. If one of the older ladies waits on you, it will be a great experience. They know the menu and make sure everything is taken care of. If you get one of the younger girls, well, it might not be so great. They don't know... More

We try new local restaurants each time we visit the area. Had the dogs with us, so ordered take-out. The food was fresh and well prepared, just good stuff like mom used to make. The fish was piping hot and nicely breaded without corn meal, which was a welcome change in Texas. This place definitely deserves it's 4th position of popularity... More

I love cafe's and this was one of the best I have ever ate at. Food was excellent and omg the service is great, they have several waitresses & I mean like lots of help. Fast service and very town home feeling. Food was very cheap too!

I recently ate at the Bakery Café with a group of family members. There were 6 of us in all. Our server, who appeared to be new, graciously split the check into 3 different parties, and took very good care of us. We were there for breakfast on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The place was crowded, but our server was... More
