Best food in the area

Tasty home cooked meals at a great price! Lunch specials run about $8 for meat and two veggies plus dessert! Wait staff is very friendly. So many places around town are expensive and the food is not worth it. Their chicken fried stead was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Iced tea was fresh... read more

Drove over from Rockport for dinner. Saw the cool old neon sign and just had to look it up. Well, some people gave it not so good reviews...so I can say that those people have not eaten at a nostalgic diner before. Walked in the door and walked back in time! Worn tiles on the floor, a counter with stools,... More

The Bakery Cafe is known for it's pies and they are outstanding (as is the Bread Pudding). They server excellent food with huge portions at a more than affordable price. Located in downtown Aransas Pass this is a perfect place for a meal if you are visiting or local. My wife prefers the baked Tilapia. I have too many favorites... More

My husband lived & worked in this area about 30 years ago & frequently ate at this restaurant. He wanted to have dinner here tonight so I was game. After we seated ourselves I asked him if much had changed & he said "no" & literally no-not the booths, tabletops, carpet, etc you get the picture, this is an old... More

The wait staff is slow, disorganized and the food is lacking. We could not get our server to get our order right, we could not get our tea refilled, but our ticket was quick. The food lacked flavor and was disappointing. We have tried them a few times with the same result each time.

My husband and I had an early dinner there this week. We had been here for breakfast and it was okay but dinner was the worst of the worst. I had fried oysters that were so chewy that I had to spit them out. The salad was just iceberg lettuce. My husband had the grilled chicken special which he said... More

We visit Bakery Cafe on a regular basis. Favorites are the chicken fried steak and the fried catfish dinner. Be sure and tell them you want rolls with your meal. They are homemade and delicious. Their pies are very good, too. Only thing negative I have to say it, it would be nice if they served the bread with REAL... More

Went to the Bakery because we love small local restaurants. Took a quick look at the food coming out and decided to just have coffee and pie! Pie was straight from a factory. Waitress was so busy chatting with coworkers, it took quite awhile to get the pie. This is the kind of place that keeps the super big chain... More

This is a seat yourself cafe with more seating on the other side of the wall from the main entrance. This is a plain cafe, no ambience, just large portions of decent food. Our server was overly busy when we got there however was very attentive. The fried catfish was huge, the broccoli and cauliflower side was just okay as... More
