Good food

This is a huge tourist trap but fun. Everything in Texas is over the top and this is extremely over the top. Food is good, too. Kids meals come on a free cowboy hat. Worth the stop.

Went to the Big Texan with a party of six, were told it would be a 15 min. wait for a table, that was fine. About 10 min after that a full tour bus pulled in. After 25 min we checked to see if our call light was working ,they assured us it was.At 35 min.they started seating the people on the... More

Went with a few friends. Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and a margarita. Although it was pretty busy due to the fact it's a touristy thing the food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. Great gift shop with a lot choices. I'd eat there again but the alcohol prices are high and I don't know about... More

Our steaks were cooked to perfection and very tender, delicious. The in-house brewed beer was a good novelty but only tried one kind. The rolls were superb and choice of sides very good. Only complaint was that our waitress was not attentive to our needs as the patrons at the next table were keeping her occupied in conversation.

My husband and I have driven past this restaurant on many trips but never stopped. Since we had some extra time, we decided to have a steak dinner there on our way home. Upon entering, we were immediately transported back in time to the saloon and gunslinger era. The restaurant looks exactly like you would expect from watching old western... More

This is an Amarillo attraction and they boast a 72oz steak and the fixins. It is free if you can eat it all, which also includes the meat (minus what you dont eat) baked , rolls and salad. Its ridiculous to see it on a plate. lol I didnt go down that road, but I did eat a prime rib... More

This place is aging and decaying and needs some updating. Half the games work . Food here is just fair and not worth the price paid. Waiters just semi attentive. Go somewhere else for a great steakhouse.

Ate there 6/28. Can't miss the Big Texan when driving thru town. Parking can be challenging during the dinner rush hour. Both the exterior and interior of this restaurant are camera worthy. Lots to see and do. When you enter (if busy) you get a remote flasher to alert you when your table's ready. It was quite busy when we... More

The Big Texan lives up to its name in pretty much every aspect of the restaurant. There is plenty of seating and the portions are large. I recommend the beer sampler if you like beer. They brew their own. We also had no problem seating our group of thirteen.

My son and his wife and my granddaughter ate at Big Texan yesterday on our way back home from Santa Fe, NM. Everything was going fine and it seemed like a fun place until my son noticed red lipstick on my water glass. I'm a man who doesn't wear lipstick, and no one else at our table was wearing lipstick...
