You can't miss it

Having been there before and in A-town for. A couple days I took the kids. My grandfather used to say "that's a tourist trap" and in a fun sort of way it is. The half pound burgers (all beef no fillers) are$10 so if you want cheap go to mcdonalds. If you want good in a fun atmosphere go here.... read more

Heard about the 72 oz steak and wanted to check it out. It is a tourist place with a gift shop and photo ops. The food was pretty good. The staff was just ok. I'd you are in a hurry this is not the place to stop.

Stopped by on our way to CA for dinner... Seats a lot of people... Accommodates large groups, friendly staff, cold craft beer, and good food... Hint... Save room for dessert!

Fun place, good food. The meat was delicious. Great for kids, they got cowboy hats. We were seated upstairs, and we had a great view of the place. They have old cowboys serenading the tables, a bit of a crazy atmosphere, animal heads hanging off the walls, a cute souvenir store and a crazy competition to see who can finish... More

The ribeye was good, the Whiskey Barrel Stout was excellent, and the chocolate cake was rich enough to put me in the ground. But.... Now, I grew up in Amarillo but this was my first visit to the Big Texan. Now I know why: it's more of a Texas-themed tourist attraction than a restaurant. Think of one of the Outback... More

Decided to only browse gift shop and purchased fudge. Fudge was typically quick mix stuff. Fun location to take photos.

I was traveling to and from Colorado with a boy scout troop and made a point to stop both times at The Big Texan. It was the first time I'd been there. The prices were high, but the food, wait help, and ambiance was fantastic. It's made more tourists on route 66 and still worth the visit. It was fun... More

I visited The Big Texan as a teen and then as a young adult and, yesterday, July 28, 2015 as a senior. The service was adequate, but not extremely efficient as was the case in the past. The filet mignon was perfect, but the salad was warm, as if it had been placed under a heat lamp, not nicely chilled... More

We went here two years ago on our way home from a cross country road trip. We loved it so much that this year we had the same road trip but this was a stop that we planned this time. It was so good we planned it for the way home also. We love this place! The atmosphere is great... More

Place looks good from the outside and inside, but the food was poor the steaks were tough and grisly and service was slow. When commented on this, the answer was do you want another steak, not really the moment had gone. Outside the restaurant everything was good.
