Great steak and overal meal. If you're passing through or in the area this really should be a must stop. Great place for kids as well. It's really a mini-destination of sorts.

A definite tourist trap. I have to give them a thumbs up on the atmosphere though. From the trinket store to the shooting gallery and poker room it's a fun place to go. Service is friendly but the food is very average. If you are going for a good steak do not come here as you are wasting your money.

Since we were in Amarillo decided to try. Wish we had eaten at a different steak house. Amarillo has a few good rated steak houses and wish we had chosen differently.

My grandfather always said, the best steak choice is the rib-eye! Well, based on my experience at the Big Texan he was right! It was pure perfection, cooked medium rare and so tasty! It was a wonderful meal, the service was great, everyone is so kind and helpful. I can't wait to go back!!

We were only going to be in Texas for a day, driving straight through the panhandle. I wanted my kids to eat some steak in Texas, dangit, and I wanted it to be in a tourist trap. It was exactly what I'd imagined. Lots of dead animals on the wall, lots of pleasant staff with cute accents and lots of... More

We ate here for dinner and breakfast while staying in the motel. A bit of a wait to be seated but plenty to do while waiting. The kids loved the maze and hook games out back in the beer garden. We had steaks, perfectly cooked. The best ones on our trip across the states. We had our own beer pump... More

We have eaten at the Big Texan several times on our way through Amarillo. This trip we had a friend with us who had never eaten there. My saying to her was, "Everyone needs to eat there at least once." After an absence of several years I found the prices have gone up and the quality mediocre. All I could... More

A tourist trap, but worth every cent you spent there. Steaks are ok as well as the sides, but restaurant is overcrowded. Shops are funny to visit. Good place to visit with your children.

I got one of the local favorites the six flags of Texas with two sides. My sides were a ceaser salad which was soggy, under dressed with nothing but a few clear flakes of parmesan not one crouton, and fried okra which was the the equivalent of buying frozen okra from the grocery store. The four things on the plate... More

What an exciting restaurant. My family had a blast here. The have our kids cowboy hats, there was musicians that would come to each table to play music. The atmosphere was energetic and very authentic Texan. I will probably come back the next time through town.
