I can see why people might not like it here - it's tacky, full of tourists, and the food is a little overpriced. But it's also great fun, we had a fantastic evening here - decent food, a great range of beers from their own brewery, some small attractions and photo opportunities, a decent live music act, and good service... We we're driving a 13 hr day, so we really needed food and a break. After seeing MANY signs for the 72oz steak place we figured there would other food. (We thought it was a bar and grill and were a little worried about that). It wasn't! It was an experience that was surprising delightful. Take the kids and family,... More

Fabulous experience! From the minute our (complimentary) limo turned up at our RV with cow horn noises to announce his arrival to the next big arrival, our steaks! There is so much to see and do and round every corner was something new to see ... I had the 21 oz sirloin and my partner had the rib eye -... More

My hubby ordered an 18 oz sirloin. I had a 6 oz filets. We both enjoyed our steaks and sides. We watched several people try the 72oz challenge and they both failed. Decor was so cool ... I expected to see Miss Kitty show up with Marshall Dillon. Fun place. Great food. Must do while you are in Amarillo!

This Steak House is famous for the 72 oz steak challenge, but seriously, the steaks that normal people eat there are great steaks. I've stopped here several times for a steak and have never been disappointed. The ambiance of the place is old west and charming. If you are a steak lover, I wouldn't miss this one.

If you want to have a taste of country/western specialties, this is the place!!! I was in a road trip and my partner read about this place and decided to have lunch here: what a smart move!! I've never eaten a steak like that: juicy but not raw, tasty but not too spiced, enough to quench your hunger but not... More

We have been taking a vacations out west for the last two years. We said we would not do or go anywhere we went last trip. We kept our promise, with the exception of the Big Texan restaurant... we couldn't pass it witout stopping and enjoying their Rib Eye steak. Theres lots of things to stand in front of and... More

We stopped by while driving through Amarillo to meet some family. The kids loved the decor. We all had a good meal and the steaks were cooked to each individuals liking.

I was fully aware of what we were stepping into, we decided to go here hoping to see someone attempt the 72oz challenge. The billboards start miles away from Amarillo. I enjoyed my time shopping in the store as we waited to be seated. They also have a fudge shop with other sweets here as well. I'm quite sure that... More
