Authentic and locally owned Mexican Restaurant

This family-owned restaurant is a welcome change to the alternative. Generous portions of well seasoned food goes down well with a cerveza or two. We had gorditas and chicken tacos with ample cilantro and zesty salsa on the side. Only the rice left me a little flat. The service was excellent and we... read more

Great Mexican food. Very good service fantastic salsa and chips. The Chile Rellenos are awesome! Huge margaritas and beers. Pollo adobada was really good too. The other location is "dry" so if you want a drink go to this one. Both have really good food.

We came in for a table of five on a Sunday afternoon, it was very busy and we had a bit of a wait. This was a sign of good things to come. The food was amazing, we opted not to go for the Tex-Mex but for more authentic dishes (Guisado and Pastor). Both were great and my wife and... More

Everything we tried was delicious! Great salsa, fajitas, enchiladas & street tacos! The house margarita on the rocks was perfect! Great staff and price!

We didn't find many places that served Mexican food that were open for breakfast. This one has a dozen dishes and buttermilk pancakes. The huevos con quisado de puerco (pork cooked in green or red chile - we had green) was wonderful and melts in your mouth. They make their own corn tortillas, too. We liked it so much we... More

First impressions can deceive. The outside isn't much to look at. Inside is plain, but a nice atmosphere. The service and food were very good. Not overly priced for the quality of food. Loved the enchiladas and beef fajitas.

We have lived here a long time and never enjoyed this place until now. It was so clean and the staff was wonderful. The food was really good. This was not Tex-Mex but more like what you get in New Mexico. It is very reasonably priced. We enjoyed it and will return. Great location if traveling on I-40.

The interior of the restaurant is decorated nicely and you feel like you are in an authentic cantina. The service is very good and friendly. Our waiter was very attentive, but didn't hover over the table. The salsa is good, but could be a little warm to those with sensitive mouths. My wife could not eat it because it was... More

We ate at the one on the east side of Amarillo, one block east of Grand St. on the I-40 frontage road. Don't expect much atmosphere. The place was loaded with many locals and families, mostly hispanic, and several big rigs were in the parking lot. We knew we were in for a real mexican meal! And we weren't disappointed!... More
